  1. Not quite, the floor passed scrutineering in Melbourne, therefore was legal, McLaren asked for a clarification on the rule that governed the floor mounting systems (Using Ferrari's own tech drawings, redone, as they wanted to use the same system for their floors) the FIA then decided that the tolerences used for measuring the floors flex would be changed, thus rendering the Ferraris (and two other teams) floors illegal. As this happened after the race (and tipped the FIA onto McLaren having illegal infomation on the Ferrari's) the Ferraris raced at Melbourne in a legal configuration and where not excluded.
  2. Kev, I should be able to do this day, I'll confirm on Monday.
  3. Seabass won
  4. Thats only delayed by 1 hour, as the race starts at 2 am local time, what do you want them to do???? They usually have the race on a 2 hour dely as a minimum.
  5. An M6 through there sounds pretty awesome as well.
  6. I can't believe that you let Roy loose on a trike...
  7. Being in the local area (the crash happened at the other end of my road) I can tell you that the police resources in this area are painfully thin, with 20 officers covering an area spanning north past Yea, east past Marysville, south past Powelltown and into Mooroolbark. They have little to no chance of providing any meaningful police presence on the roads out here and the locals know that.
  8. Hey Roy, your screen capture is going around the world. Vettel Vs. Webber
  9. Christian Horner (RBR Team Boss) said it during an interview at the start of the race whilst they where circulating behind the safety car.
  10. I looked at some of the house that where built on the land next to the track as an investment property, and was told by the real estate agent to not worry about the noise from the track (I didn't mention that I was a MS fan) as the complaints to the council and EPA would have the track shut down in a few years. I also overheard the guy saying the same thing to other people there, so maybe that's why the bought in.
  11. I agree with Kev, if anything, the removal of the 500 from Sandown will help make more money for the VRC as ther track can be hired out for more weekends. What may close down the racetrack are noise/nuisence complaints from the locals, most of whom moved in after the track was built.
  12. I'll tell you right now, that that cage would not get passed under the CAMS rules, in either CDW or CrMo materials. The design is wrong in a number of key areas, such as diagonal bracing in the main hoop, the double box design of the roof structure and the lack of "A" pillar triangulation.
  13. Do I want to know....
  14. I'm aiming to be there, in this...
  15. Recovery FTW!!!! I did 65km's around the track on Saturday, and found out that the Navara will do turn 1 at 110kph, but not 115kph. Also, the Megaphone is great fun, especially for ordering lunch.
  16. I think that there was one taken of it behind me (under tow)
  17. And if they where in such a blatant manner, TEGA would have grouped them for testing purposes by now.
  18. Nah, it's from "The Lost Boys"
  19. Essentially you park just off the track behind the barriers at a convenient location (if we can get three vehicles then it would most likely be pit exit, Honda and Hayshed) and if you are lucky, the most you will have to do is pickup and deliver the flaggies/equipment during the day. What normally happens is that if a car goes off or stops for any reason, then they are towed by one of the recovery vehicles either back on to the track if they can recover to the pits under their own power, or are towed back to the pits if they can't. I'll be there with the Navara, but I'd be lucky to break three minutes around the track in it, so having a few extra helpers would be very good.

    Funny Story

Not always, usually if you hit a car that hard, you get a nice seatbelt sized bruise across your chest, the cops just need to find a reason to get yo to lift your shirt.
  21. I love the optimism with the cars on the list, like the Enzo in Class C (I'd love to hose that with a Kia Rio or Hyundai Getz ) or the Veyron in Class E.

    20 Inch Rims

You can go 2" larger in Diameter and 1" wider with the rims (iirc, it might have changed since I last looked a few years ago) so unless your Magna came with 18" rims standard, then, yes, to legally use that sized wheel, you need an engineers certificate to say that the rim size isn't doing thing like overloading the wheel bearings/suspension components/suspension geometry.
  23. Hopefully it will last longer than it did today, where the thing broke down on the first lap it did.
  24. Didn't miss anything as it got canceled due to the rain.
  25. Does anyone know if the sale of Wakefield Park to the Ronke's (of Winton) has made a difference yet?
