Hey guys, I'm also coming over to Queensland from Perth, about a week after Nathan (ossie21). You guys have already answered most of my questions and I look forward to meeting you all I have one question. What are the traffic conditions like on Sunshine Hwy during peak hour times? I'll agree to some extent that doing a car yourself has some satisfaction. But what the hell is the point if you just pay everyone to do it? If you built it yourself, with your own two hands and not just your wallet, then yeah. I know how you feel (see: my black R33's front bar). But then every time I see the white R33 I bought, I love that thing to pieces. I didn't build it, but I feel the same way you do. You just become more emotionally attached to your car if you do it yourself. I could go on for ages about the disadvantages of building a car yourself, but none of it will sink in unless you do it several times over and realise you just waste money.

Buy cars done. A lot cheaper. And owes you less when you sell it.

I've driven pieces of shit for 2 years then upgraded to Skylines. In 3 years of paying that premium, you could have bought another R33 skyline or something. I can't justify $4500 a year on insurance. Waste of cash. You'll learn the hard way and probably wish you listened to us then end up in our shoes telling people such as yourself to not f**k up their financials so early.

In regards to putting insurance under your parent's names.. The insurance premium is based on the youngest driver of the car. Ie, you.

How many people going to woodvale and how many going to tuart hill maccas? I count 1 going to BP and 3 going to Maccas? Nathan and myself will be going to one of these.

I have factory springs you can borrow if required.

I only use Kitten shampoo and kitten polish. Immaculat finish every time. Full clean takes 2 hours. Polishing every few days afterwards to maintain awesomeness takes 20-30 minutes.

I use coltage (nudges Nathan) I mean Colgate whitening on my headlights. Cover the entire headlight, wipe off with water and a rag. My headlights have remained mint for months after just one cleaning.

In my experience in removing my factory S1 front bar, there were 2 bolts either side where the front bar meet with the guard, near the wheel arch. There were then 4 bolts underneath the front bar, staring the the ground. A simple philips screwdriver will get these 4 out. There are 2 on both sides. There were then 3 clips underneath the grill. When I say grill, I mean the little section that clips onto the headlights and sits between the bonnet and front bar. Sometimes, you will get lucky and removing these 8 bolts and 3 clips is enough. However, there is a large clip underneath each headlight that the bumper slides under. A flat head screw driver to pry these up will do the job. If you haven't got a tool suitable, you may need to remove the headlights. If this doesn't help, send me a PM and I'll ATTEMPT to draw up a diagram.
