  1. Dump pipe and exhaust is the first thing to do. That alone makes a massive difference on these. Look around for used SS1 spec high flows. A few blokes here chasing more power and thinking of selling theirs. SS1 : more torque SS2 : more power
  2. I want to keep all the trip computer stats/ fuel economy features etc on the factory screen. Thought about a new head unit, quite a few people crack the fascias pulling it all out. If you've got good sound and picture through your dvd, you're laughing. I think the factory head unit sounds pretty clean. My days of 4 channel amps and 10 inch subs are over.
  3. no, from the tv tuner through a multitude of wires the tv tuner, pop up screen and factory head unit are connected together through the Jap dash controls Xanavi doesn't go through rca's
  4. I wasn't talking about compatibility or the IPDM. Just the possibility the main ECU has died.
  5. The signal has to be in Xanavi language. You'll lose all the functions of the pop up display. Unless you start from scratch: New tuner, new head unit, new lcd screen.
  6. come on Dale, you said yourself if you aint cutting metal out to make things work , you aint trying hard enough. Anyway, I've got more downforce than all you bastards, irrespective of the 1620 kg she already is.
  7. Get a cheap ebay wing and drill 4 large holes in your tailgate,,, like me..
  8. dvd player is gps nav only. the plug with the red/white av leads is aux on the factory radio and VTR on pop up screen. you must have an aftermarket device fitted looking at those connections. only some models came with reverse camera.
  9. Yeah , not interested in tv, just had trouble with picture on my mini media box. It was black / white and fuzzy, and I also managed to get it in Chinese so was guessing in the menus. Set to NTSC and found english, works fine. Had to make my own lead with Jaycar 4 pin connectors. Shaved them a bit, glued them together, then had to hack out the socket on the tv tuner a bit too. Got a good fit in the end. Soldering was a bit fiddly. Mounted it up on the rear window shelf so the remote works from the front. Got 16Gb of music in that thing. No more cds...
  10. Anyone know what the resolution and refresh rate the factory pop up screen is... Still trying to get my media box to work. cheers
  11. Ok getting sick of knocking in the front end. Can feel it through the pedals. Tried tightening up the sway bar, but literally comes loose again in a day. It's the bolts that connect the sway bar to the links. Used a perfect fit spanner and cranked until the point of snapping it. Still a faint knocking. Thinking of replacing the links with Whiteline ones. But can only find them for WC34 (KLC108)
  12. What about the ECU itself ? Is there a test / scan for the ecu ? Maybe getting moisture down onto it. My alarm plays up when it rains..
  13. Yep that's right. The main issue with RBs ,is the heads don't drain quick enough, hence why you see so many external drain lines fitted. Still a great car after 20 years. Good luck hunting one down..
  14. Bummer, sorry man. Good to hear you have insurance, and at least you got it back. Looks like joy riders, and managed to bypass factory immobilizer ?
  15. Certainly explains the touchy throttle with no restriction. When I had the stock turbo, I'd be on boost reversing up driveways. 100 cell cat fitted today as there was none, a tad quieter but not much. Less rasp. Next to zero loss in performance. The mufflers looks as new, no evidence of cutting open or modification. I did a poke inside the rear muffler to feel for baffles and/or walls. It appears completely hollow. It's looks the same system as Luis. The previous owner told me he went for a straight through option on the exhaust. Anyway, still have AMPerformance intake to stick on, then tune. Probably be louder again.
  16. Here's a couple vids with straight through. 108 db from 2m away..
  17. Yeah longer bolts sounds good. Can you do it on ramps, with the weight down, or jack one side up.. Down want to pull the bolt out and not be able to get it back in. Have that problem in the bedroom..
  18. Damn end bolts keep coming loose on my SuperPro front sway bar. 4th time now in about 5 weeks. Had the mechanics tighten it up on the hoist still coming undone. Did it up myself on ramps to the point of the heads stripping. Still doing it. Any tricks here to stop it ? Was advised against loktite as links are expected to wear quickly with the big arse bar.
  19. Putting this on tomorrow, hopefully quiet it down a bit. 100 cell cat. $115 delivered from Scotts Rods in QLD.
  20. Weird how R33 GTS-T brakes are an upgrade for Stagea.. From a car that's 400 kg lighter. What am I missing ? From memory R33 stock rotors were tiny as..
  21. I've done three videos now, on Sony Camera and on my Samgung S4. All with massively distorted audio. Still trying..
  22. I have Bricks intake now. Haven't fitted yet, gees imagine would probably be over 120db. Video coming soon of my Fuji with single cell cat. My work associate said he could hear me for a good minute before I pulled up to site. I like the look of that silencer, looks smart. If the new cat doesn't bring it down enough I might try one of those.
  23. Sorted out lag issue. Boost-t was bleeding too much as it was at minimum setting (3psi). I replaced the vacuum hose to it as the old one split. The stock one had 1mm restrictor in it, so now the controller bleeds way more with the 4mm vac line. Tightened up the BOV a tad and increased the boost-t a bit. Found the sweet spot.
  24. I'll get a 100 cell bullet cat, that should quiet it down a bit. Also don't like the explosions of unburnt fuel on freeway driving. This is what I have now.
