  1. So looking at stock front bumper, only has 100mm slot for air to reach the intercooler. Looking at the height of them they are around 300mm. I'm thinking the front bumper restricts airflow . Will the HDI GT2 pro really make a difference with the small air duct ? Can't seem to find any front spoilers anywhere for M35. Thinking of cutting a huge area to expose the HDI completely. Anyone else done this ?
  2. Yep these intakes DO leak between the middle join. When it's fitted the two halves are pulled out a fair bit stretching the spring. After doing a smoke test, it was visible. So had it removed and sealed with silicone.
  3. M35 Stagea Just fitted Denso 570's and E-manage. Previous mods include : Scotty dump, Legalis R exhaust, AMPerformance intake, ATP High flow and Greddy FV BOV 219 kw at 16psi. Whilst that was pretty much my goal, top end power wasn't important to me. I was hoping to run over 20 psi but stock intercooler appears to be inadequate. High air temps and high risk of DET so tuned back for safety. Previosly had a boost-t in place as there was massive boost creep with the factory solenoid. Probably due to the 1mm restrictor in the vac line, which I discovered later. My Turbosmart boost-t was stuck out the whole time I had it fitted and didn't even realise. It didn't turn anti anymore whilst the plunger was out 15mm. Was hitting boost cut. Currently running straight of Scottys actuator spring, holds 16 psi nicely. No boost controller at all. So overall, can runs nicely but a bit disappointed in low down accelleration. Car went harder pretune with stock injectors. So hoping HDI GT2 Pro will make the difference, then back on the dyno. 4. re: slim a/c fan. Can I get any universal slim fan ? Supercheap auto... Any tricks I need to know about this install ? cheers
  5. Ha, yep it's easy to fall in love with a car, especially when it's that clean. But have to agree it's too much , especially with a stalling issue , could be a bad tune or worse. This reminds me of me 15 years ago. I was getting divorced, so what do you do ? Get a Skyline.. I walked in to Envy showroom in Manly, they had an electric blue R34 GTR which looked thrashed and poorly modded, a really clean silver R33 GTR for $46000 which was awesome but I was borrowing ALL the money so a bit out of my reach.Plus insurance for twin turbo was $3800. There were a few more outside but who cares. Lastly there it was... A freshly resprayed in black nicely modded raw looking GTS-T with Jap Stern offset wheels, sitting on the shiny showroom floor in it's own area. Full GTR body kit and a huge intercooler poking through with no mesh/grill over it, looking mean. I instantly fell in love with it. Walked around it over and over looking at my own reflection. My two sons were with me exciting as f**k about buying a Skyline., and kept saying get this one, get this one.. Listed price was $26500 for a 6 year old GTS-T ! Mind you it was highflowed, and Haltech tuned from 187 to 250 kw, so quicker than the GTRs there. After I drove it I offered $21000 and got it for $22500 I still have it. Don't forget ALL Skylines are becoming more and more sought after and are rising in value, if they're looked after.. Don't be surprised when clean examples fetch big dollars.
  6. Na, Jez just told me I can't run high boost like I wanted to. Just fitted 570's and E-manage , he reckons the stock intercooler is holding it back. I want to run over 20 psi but it's tuned at 16 as there's high risk of detonation. 219 rwkw though,on a safe tune , that was actually my goal. It appears there's a fair bit more there if I want it, ... hmmm tempting
  7. So how much of a difference is there between the factory intercooler and the hdi in temp and flow ? Looks like my air temps are way too high atm
  8. hi mate, Looks like I need intercooler and slim fan. And freight to 2107. Cheers
  9. Also these days when you lose all your points, if you address the court properly, you can ask for a conditional licence. Just make a monumental importance of your reliance to drive to work with a bit of homework on the inadequacies of public transport. It allows you to drive to work and back. That's all, no after hours driving. Also make a point of the inaccuracies of visual ' estimated ' speed by officers which could vary drastically from officer to officer. Given you were booked on 81, gives a window for a lesser fine. good luck
  10. Yep well worth the back cramps leaning in to the firewall, cutting and connecting the wires. It's surprising how lazy Nissan tuned this car given the weight of the thing. At least they gave it decent factory boost. Even my wife loves it more now after she drove it through the forests of Durras lakes with the brake cut switched off. Good little spot here for a switch, in the passenger side utility compartment. Towards the back of the compartment , there's plenty of clearance behind for the mech. Very easy piece of trim to remove, 2 screws then jiggle out. Better than glovebox I think , less chance of getting broken. I think my tyres are wearing out quicker all a sudden
  11. No big deal Josh. You can get the 29mm recirc adapter and adapter plate from Nengun. I used a Subaru adapter plate and just reamed the holes to realign them. Just counter sink the plate and use counter sunk adapter bolts and take a nick off the side to clear the throttle body. That's it. It's well worth the install. The valve travels so well, the intake recircs like it should. No shudder, black smoke, dumping fuel. Really smooth. The Greddy is 40mm , Turbosmart 22mm, plus the Greddy FV is so adjustable with the two springs plus the wind in plunger. By far the best thing I've done to this car so far.
  12. yep the car has an immobiliser key fob but that appears to be separate If i turn the car off, lock it and unlock it twice, the hazards stop , then it's fine for a while. It mainly occurs when I unlock the car and open the doors. Faulty motion sensor ? Anyway will keep looking, don't want to lose my central locking, immobilser and auto closing mirrors though.
  13. I've done the siren by pulling the piezo out but moisture seems to be triggering the alarm more and more. It's not the imobiliser just the alarm keep flashing the indicators while I'm driving. Anyone know what to unplug in the drivers footwell ? I put some pics in disabling internal siren thread. Can't see any anything that looks like an alarm module cheers
  14. I'd love a black head lining. That would look great. You doing it yourself Josh ? Pretty difficult upholstery job there. I'd keep it to only 2 colours .
  15. I disabled the siren a while ago but the alarm keeps tripping even while I'm driving. There might be an immobiliser but it's not active. Hazard light flash only buy annoying. Can't clearly see what to unplug above the accelerator pedal. Any pointers ?
  16. Fitted Walbro 255 and did brake mod switch. Hopefully this turbo will hang in there until the trip up to Jez. Then 570 injectors and E-manage.
  17. DrLui is wrecking his stolen M35 here. Grab his shocks. I wouldn't go to Nissan unless I had a new car under warranty. Look what they charge for an AFM Find a mechanic who has a passion for performance cars and is known for their good work.
  18. Some mechanics will say the turbo needs to come off to replace the actuator as access is difficult. If that's the case you'd want to consider a rebuild anyway with 210000 kms on it Ask your mechanics if they can try and fix it in place I read somewhere a genuine Nissan replacement is over $2000 just for the turbo. High flow service for $1200 Turbos are like tyres, you just have to replace them when they are worn. Good luck.
  19. thanks, will do. I can't really test for leaks on the road, needs to be on dyno. still boosting fine, so could be a whistle from a leak. this turbo was a high shaft speed design put that with a 3 tonne load my gut is telling me it's over spun
  20. yep 2nd hand, around 30000 on it. was healthy when it went in
  21. During Easter my ATP high flow was going nice, only driven around 2000 kms on it. Had 30000 on it when installed, banjos all drilled out, was flowing great. Towed a boat plus camping gear away, turbo was working hard up hills , and for quite long periods. Developed a whine now under boost. Thinking it's been over spun, fatigued / warped the shaft. Or maybe dirt is getting in the dry joint of the AMPerformance intake which was only done recently and damaged the comp wheel. Still spools fine, just with noise. Was planning for e-manage and tune very soon... Now all I need is a rope and a tree
  22. Still looking for some drop in injectors around 520 to 650 cc for VQ25DET if anyone has some to offload. cheers
  23. I had no cat on my Legalis R when I bought the car. Fitted a 100 cell cat, couldn't notice any loss in power at all (under 5000 rpm ) Also the cat didn't make it any quieter really. Maybe 3-5 dB Just want it to be legal, plus bonus bung for tuning. Still over 110 dB.
  24. Hey anyone know what size and thread gauge the flange nuts are that connect the front sway bar to the links ? I just can't get them tight enough and now stuffed one. Gonna try and get some harder ones M35
  25. Just had another thought. Maybe air is coming in through the join, which is after the AFM. There's no physical seal on these, just metal to metal. Gonna try and get a clamp around it.
