Car Theft In Australia, Abc Four Corners 830pm Tonite
jonjon replied to sigsputnik's topic in General Automotive Discussion
makes you wonder whether some of the skylines we get from japan were originally stolen back here... -
Anyone know if this kit will be available for r34's? If so when?

Can anyone shed light to the current regulations in NSW in relation to what the RPM RB25's are tested?

hrmm, so if epa tests an xforce muffler with the silencer and it passes, would this be the valid reading? or would they have to test the exhaust without the silencer? I was going through some of the regulations in relation to testing procedures and here's what i found: PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT OPERATIONS (NOISE CONTROL) REGULATION 2000 - SCHEDULE 2 - Testing Procedures 5 Vehicle operation and noise measurement (b) If the Engine Speed at Maximum Power (ESMP) for that engine has not been determined by the EPA—the engine is to be brought to and stabilised at a speed as close as the authorised officer can achieve to one of the following speeds: (i) if the engine has 5 cylinders or less—4000 rpm, (ii) if the engine has 6 cylinders—3200 rpm, (iii) if the engine has 8 cylinders—3300 rpm, (iv) if the engine has more than 8 cylinders—4300 rpm, (v) if the engine is a rotary engine—4500 rpm. © If, in the opinion of the authorised officer, the test speed determined by reference to paragraphs (a) and (b) is not attainable by the engine—the engine is to be brought to and stabilised at the maximum speed that the authorised officer believes that the engine can be safely tested.

I'm getting it done at carline mufflers mt druitt. They are a sponsor of the team i am a member of and hence the discount. But i'm sure if you go to his workshop you can arrange a good price with the owner (Bruno)

Skyline Fuel Consumption
jonjon replied to spikeman900's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I get between 450-475km for around 55 litres. I have an r34 Gt-T and although i have read that r34's have a full tank of 65 litres, by the time i hit the 450km mark the fuel needle is just about to pass the last white indicator line. Maybe i can do 500km but i dont want to risk it. oh btw my car is full stock -
Wanted To Swap My Recaro Seat For Your Standard Seat
jonjon replied to JayMei's topic in New South Wales
i may be interested.. i've got an excellent condition seat but my concern will be whether the recaro is adr approved and the cost of swapping the seats + getting it engineered. can you give me a rough estimate of the price? -
DAMN! i totally feel for those guys that havn't received their knobs yet. don't you just hate it when bureaucracy goes wrong?? grrr

Okay this problem happened to my r34 shortly after picking it up from the importer at exactly the same semi circle as yours nuffsaid. Although it may look tricky to replace the bulbs you have to detach the whole tailight. You can do this by using a small wrench to loosen and remove 5 nuts that hold the tailight. You can see it after removing the carpet-like material the surrounds your boot. If they're a bit tight spray some wd-40. As for the bulb Im not sure what model it's but it is a universal model and can be bought at a service station. Ongsta, perhaps it could be with the voltage/amp rating of the bulbs you used?

Skyliner: My work received them yesterday by mail. It could be possible that i received it earlier because the address is close to Sydney CBD.

I'm not sure what the regulations would be in VIC but in NSW i know that for any owner certified modification (which you dont need any engineer's certificate), you cannot get wheels which are 1inch wider than you stock wheels, which in this case is 7.5. As for rim diameter, I asked a highway patrol this question and he replied saying that it doesn't matter how big the tyres are, as long as the rolling distance does not exceed 15mm (or was it 15cm?) from the stock tyres. To show this wet the rolling surface of the stock tyre and the tyre you will be using with the 19's and roll them on dry ground for one revolution. If the distance of the other tyre is longer than 15mm (or 15cm? can someone confirm on this) then its illegal and you may need to get it engineered. But to be totally sure the best thing to do is consult the ADR. It's good to know though that 19x9 at the front and 19x10 at the back will fit as i am planning to get 19x8.5 at the front and 19.9.5 at the back.

Here's a translation: Recently my car has been having some very weird problems. Whilst driving one day the car's engine suddenly turned off, and has been recurring since then. I'm sure I didn't stall it as I had control of the clutch. It usually turns off whilst driving at around 20km/hour at low revs. There's no problems with the car whenever I'm driving on the streets or on the freeway. Is there a major problem to my car or perhaps some loose screw somewhere in the car need to be tightened? Would a dyno tune affect this somehow, as the problem did not occur before I dynoed it. Please help. I require professional (or may I say experienced) advice as there is great risk in the car turning off whilst driving in the middle of the road.
