Hey peoples, I am thinking of picking up a blitz lm intercooler this week for my 33 and was wondering what needs to be modified on the front bar? Is it just that black plastic thing that sits in the front or do I need to cut the bar itself? This kit has the cold pipe running under the cooler and still retains the factory pipes up top, so no trimming the fan blades but i am curious is to how much I have to take of the front bar to make it fit. If anyone has this kit on there series 2 some pics would help me alot too. Thanks Chris

If you still have the black plug cover on that says "nissan twin cam" etc remove that and the coils and spark plugs will be under that. You will have to undo the intake pipe and twist it up so you can get the plug cover off. I have done it with out adjusting the intake pipe and it was a nightmare. Cheers Chris

I wouldnt take HPI as gospel as Ive read from time to time when they compare cars the power torque figures and quarter mile times vary from different issues. Iwas under the impression series 1 & series 2 R33's made the same power at the flywheel (manual) it was just the series 2 gave back a better power at the wheels result due to them being younger. This is in stock form of course. For example: In issue 23 they did the comparison of a 1994 4 door 33 automatic vs a AU XR8 and the power & torque figures were 185kw & 295nm They claimed the 33 automatic did the quarter mile in 14.9 secs ....But In issue 48 they compared a 1995 R33 gtst manual vs a 1993 300zx and it they quoted a power and torque figure of 187kw & 295nm. They claimed this 33 manual did the quarter mile in 15.2 secs Then there is your quote Dezz from im guessing an earlier issue of HPI so whats accurate?? Chris

You can also check with the AFM as well. If the sticker on it is pink than its a series 2 . I dont think there interchangeble between motors??? Chris

Saw a very nice yellow 34 GTR last night cruising in towards the hospital before town. This thing was mad I tried to get the drivers attention at the lights but he seemed in his own little world. Was it anyone on here? He gave it a bit near lutwyche and boy did it sound good! Chris

very nice mate and I notice your from brisbane. Will keep and eye out as I am too. As soon as I sell the turbo 33 thats the car I want as Istill want a skyline but dont want to modify it and if I get another turbo im sure I will do the same thing. Chris

Yeah id say it sounds like an AFM metre problem. My friend has a 32 GTR and his connection was loose and it wouldnt let him rev past about 3000rpm. Chris

Where does it say that there is a power difference from auto to manual? I was under the impression that they all have the same flywheel figures regardless. Chris

I think we need to stop comparing everything to skylines. At the end of the day it doesnt matter if you like holdens or not we should be proud that we have a car that is worthy of exporting overseas. The yanks and English seem to love them and Ihear the HSV's have travelled as far as Japan, so its like the old saying different horses for different courses. Chris

I was told that if you continue to slip the wheels for 20secs or longer the computer goes into safe mode and it becomes an open wheeler does anyone know if this is true or not? And yeah as everyone has stated the ALSD light only goes on when there is a problem. Chris

Yeah but there is a bit of a price difference between GTST gear and GTR gear. Have you seen how much the series 3 xenon lights go for?? I think there like 2 or 3 grand new from nissan and around 1500 2nd hand. Series 2 GTST lights wouldnt even be worth half that. Chris

Another one to consider but is on the pricey side is an ARC side mount. Also I was wondering if you added a 34 cooler to a 33 how much more boost could you wind into it? Would 12psi be OK or would it suffer heat soak? Chris
