The screen alos runs the cd player and you can get it hooked up to watch movies as well and/or TV. Just depends if the gauges are really that important to you.
If the car is really good you can always replace the screen later on. I think there are the three stock gauges and housing for sale on this site at the moment.
Hi guys im getting a new clutch put in shortly and was wondering what type of gearbox oil to use?

Chris
My friends parents have an R34 turbo 98 model and there's doesnt have the gauges either it has the factory nissan TV screen in place of it does yours have this??
Chris
If we are going to talk performance 2.0 litre motors and compare I would compare the FJ20ET motor to the SR.
And yes it is an opinion as is yours no need to work up over it.
Chris
Its called contributing to what you know and learning my friend thats how forums work. Havent you heard the old rule if you dont ask questions and comment you will never know the answer.
VVT on the S14's and S15's only really help with better fuel economy. The reason a Sr has more torque is because its a over square motor and has a faily big capacity for a 4 banger.
RB20's are notorious for being breathless down low its due to being a small displacement 6 cylinder. I actually believe the CA is a better built motor then the SR. Its internally stronger and shares many similarities to RB26's. There downfall is age though.

Yep do it yourself mate save a fortune over the time you have it. I use mobil 1 fully synthetic and have never had any dramas. Also make sure you replace the oil filter when you change the oil.

I thought 40th aniversary models came in 1998??? Should post your VIN in the fast thread to check and see if the seats just havent been replaced as your missing hte 40th aniversary badges on the outside.
Reason I question is I have an end of year 97 model too and mine isnt the aniversary edition.
Cheers

It will leak as soon as it rains. Get some rubber grommets from repco as others have stated works a treat. Took the wing off my old silvia and used these to plug the holes no water got through at all.
Chris
I would never get RACQ to check over an import they hate them and will have a negative comment against them everytime. Get a mechanic that knows the car in question to check it out for you.
I had RACQ pull my old silvia to pieces and got it checked out by a mechanic (family friend) who may I add is RACQ approved and he said there was nothing wrong with it.
My 2cents

Chris
Might have to try shannons then. I know what you mean. I had damage in the silvia when I had it and the cost was 1200 to fix but my excess was 1000 I ended up just paying it all myself.
Are you talking about factory reset of your stock computer?? If so disconect your battery and pump the brake a few times to drain the power, wait a bit then reconect the battery factory ecu should be reset.
