If youve got 19's on it then its probably got some nice low profile tyres which do nothing for ride quality and handling, i heard and i dunno if this is right but it sounds logical. once u go past a 17" rim the car generally has very little tyre wall to roll onto while cornering and so looses grip especially at higher speeds. better off going for a good but wide 17" with reasonable profile tyres. bigger isnt always better.
  2. Could be a number of things, one of the wheel speed sensors or the ABS module itself u cant really tell unless u have somthing so you can read the trouble code that its logged. You could try disconnecting the battery for a while say 15mins so make sure so it clears the memory. then see if it comes back after you reconnect it. because it might be a history code, its happened once and hasnt happened again but its kept the light on to tell u somthing has happened. Wild guess and say its used somthing in the module it dosnt ususall use that may have stuffed up but i thought abs modules usually do a self test as u first drive off every time the car is started, could be wrong. id think that if the wheel speed sensor was stuffed it wouldntve stuffed up just because the abs was used because the wheel speed sensors are used all the time. PS: make sure u have all the radio codes and stuff before u disconnect the battery. if ur unit has one.
  3. Hey all, Just wondering what sort of fuel economy u guys get in ur GTRs, r32s mainly. is there any specific brand u guys use that u notice a diference on? now i know that fuel economy isnt gonna b all that amazing but i fuigure if im gonna buy one i may as well know what im in for. thanks.
  4. any way it could be an Idle port prolem on ur throttle body? it can have trouble switching from air going through the throttle body, to it switching totally to the idle port. If it gets blocked up with gunk or carbon it can make that car act a bit like that at times or eventually make the car stall. just a thought.
  5. From what i understand, Flat shifting is basically as u guys said above, shifting while holding the throttle wide open. Ive been told and believe that is it bad for pretty well any gearbox because it shock-loads the gears on the main shaft against the gears on the cluster shaft because as the clutch is let out, it smacks the input shaft gears against the other gears at the gearbox tries to catch up with the amount of revs the engine is doing. Instead of having them at a reletivly constant speed as u do when u letter the throttle off as u change gears. Im not 100% sure if thats correct or even makes sence. so correct me if need be.
  6. haha yeah i know a fair few as well, ive seen a 14second Laser AWD Turbo be destroyed but somone who really didnt care for the car and ive seen what happens when people dont look after them. Im gonna b lookin into them alot more before i go spending that much money on one. thanks for all this info by the way guys. its helpin heaps.
  7. danny's car? 20 is only an estimate, i can go a little over that cause ive saved for this for ages. dont worry if i didnt think i could keep it i wouldnt be buying it. yeah BNR32 is the part of the VIN telling u the model code that is an R32, but it dosnt tell u if its a GTR spec? i know that i dont have to worry bout it that much, but just got me thinkin. no biggy.

HaHa yeah, ahh well yeah ill be lookin over all that sorta stuff, ive only got a bout 20 to spend on the car itself, so shouldnt get one thats in to bad nick, A guy that i work with mentioned hes seen a few GTST4's eith the 26DETT in them and sold as gtrs with gtr kits on them? any truth to that all or anyone heard it before? is there any way u can tell it is a genuine GTR using say. the VIN no. or somthing? does one of the digits tell u if its a GTS, GTS-T, GTR Spec car ect...?

  10. Hey does anyone have a diagram or picture of the undernieth of an R32 gtr? just wondering, wanted a picture to show a friend what the awd system was setup like underneith. Cant find any on the net so far.

Thanks heaps for that, talked to just cars, they want 1500 for insurance.... and i gotta have some 2.0 imobiliser fitted or somthing, i dunno. ahh well im not rushing into it gonna find one that is worth buying. if searching in aus fails, any of u guys know of a good import comany? im in victoria. a mate gave me imports101.com.au but they are in WA and obviously i dont know if they are a respectable company or what.
  12. Heya, first post so go easy. im lookin at buying an R32 GTR in the next couple of months to replace my waste of money VS commdore. So im lookin at buying a "stock" 32 GTR and would like to know if anyone knows any particualar pit-falls or things i should watch for when tryin to buy one? have they got any specific electrical or mechanic problems or tell-tales of weather they have been thrashed (much)? i know the basics about cars so i know to looks for the obvious, turbo smoke and all that but is there any small details that tell alot about them? one other thing is, is there any major advantage to buying a later R32 to an early one? was there any major revisions in anything between years? if anyone can help me out it would be appreciated. thanks.
