  1. Do they allow convertibles on the track? My hardtop is still in pieces
  2. Anyway, after making sure the pipes were clean of all casting junk, we're all good to go! Some top notch murray clamps courtesy from John and Tim @ Unique Autosports... Notice the two grooves on the inside of the clamps? They concentrate the clamping pressure into two distinct ridges along the silicone hoses, which makes for a much much stronger clamping pressure as opposed to flat hose clamps. The design also guarantees uniform clamping, and no pinching along any part of the clamp. Just Jap intercooler pipes + UAS hose clamps = car that starts and idles again
  3. Anyway... I dropped by the local parts haven (read: Just Jap) and picked up some cheep cheep chinese intercooler pipes! Nice huh? Here's a close up of one of them: Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... Wait a minute. WTF?!?! No biggie. Nothing a little judicious dremel action won't fix! Word of caution for any other owners of these Cooling Pro cast alloy products: CLEAN THEM BEFORE INSTALLING ONTO YOUR CAR!!! I attacked all four pipes with degreaser, wash with water, turps, wash with water, metho, wash with water... Scrubbing the hell out of them at each step. The amount of loose casting granules and powder that came out was RIDICULOUS. I'm very glad that none of that bad stuff got sucked into my engine Anyway, after cleaning, all was good... These chinese parts are GREAT value
  4. Some new parts to get installed! First up, lets have a look at the intercooler pipes. As you may recall, I had the front bar off... That's because I tried to install the ARC cooler, but ran into problems trying to get the stock rubber cooler hoses to fit over the ARC end tanks. I ended up with something a little like this: Note to self: Masking tape isn't a good substitute for hose clamps.
  5. A few more update pics Windscreen had to come out to weld the cage in... Time for it to get glued into place...
  6. skidz are for boobs. Therefore, I conclude that Pete is a boob. Nice car big boy!
  7. You're running 25psi and only making 305 rwkw? Obviously there are many, many factors involved, but as a rough guide, that seems a little low to me. Even with tiny GT-SS turbos and stock headwork (260 poncams), running 20-21psi, my old GTR made 320awkw (340rwkw?) on CRD dyno (not known for reading stupidly high) Engine tuners will make an engine run rich to use the fuel to cool down the cylinders and control detonation, at the expense of fuel consumption and reduced power.
  8. Disclaimer: I am NOT qualified to reply to this thread, but I'm waiting for my morning coffee so that I can be productive. Obviously the root cause if your engine overrunning it's fuel, fuel hitting the red hot exhaust and causing the pretty orange lights. I assume it's not tuned to run stupidly rich? Your injectors aren't leaking are they? They could be dumping fuel on the exhaust combustion stroke. The first thing though, is that your cat usually blocks any visible flames, so if you're seeing flames out your exhaust, I'd check that your expensive high flow cat hasn't melted into a molten mess.
  9. I'll take it if Roy doesn't want it
  10. Well that's the thing... I wouldn't be looking to door-to-door race this thing just yet (I don't have the skill or the money), but I would love to enter the NSW State Supersprints... Going by the last round at OP GP, the fastest 3D car was a Torana SS that did 1:21. The fastest Category 3 car was a Civic that did 1:20. Should be pretty easy with a well sorted GTR to take out the 3D class, and even the whole category? ..................... or am I off with the fairies?
  11. You guys have *obviously* never heard of the "compensating lack of driver talent with more power" methodology

  14. $20k... That doesn't even buy you a good bottom end these days
  15. Hmmm... Watch your language my little friend. If you had any kind of intelligence, you would have figured out that I was eluding to the fact that you gave absolutely no indication of your geographical location, other than "Earth" as listed in your profile.
  16. I have some coilovers that you could have had for free, but unfortunately I'm on Saturn, and freight to Earth would be cost prohibitive.
  17. Hmmm... Well they're going for $21,766 on takakaira right now, so he should be in the $14-15k range unless he's looking to make a profit from weekend FOREX trading
  18. There is no such thing as "cheap" when you're talking about OS 3.0L kits PM me details big boy!

  21. Thanks for the clarification guys Doesn't the OS Giken kit retain the use of an N1 block? That would satisfy the rules...
  22. Good job mate... I was just thinking that we should resurrect these dinners, and then found your thread I'm in for Volcanic Chicken and watching Steve-o order 7 serves of chicken satay!

I make blow-off valves when driving golf carts, but I'm still interested Just a beginner golfer, but I'm keen.. Shall we make it that anyone with 27 hcp or less is more than welcome? We don't want to make it too serious or exclusive...
  24. So... RB26 has a "capacity" of 2568cc x 1.7 = 4365cc? RB30 has a "capacity" of 2998cc x 1.7 = 5096cc??? Do the two clauses mean that we are unable to run RB30s in 3D logbooked cars?!?
