Yeah I agree The whole "lets try different places" thing has gone down the drain. I could have sworn that we were at Great Northern not 2-3 months ago. Everytime we can't decide where to go, we always seem to just revert back to Great Northern or Orchid Thai. WHERE'S THE SENSE OF ADVENTURE??? They're both great venues, but I would prefer to try somewhere new each month. Having said that, none of us have gotten up off our asses to organise anything different, so props to Steve for keeping this monthly dinner tradition alive

This topic has been done before. I typed out a longer reply, but I suspected it would fall on deaf ears, so I posted a more succinct reply instead Let me illustrate my point with another example. You own an Porsche 911 Turbo. It's your pride and joy. You absolutely LOOOOOOVE driving it and it puts a smile on your face every time you turn the key. You get a new job and realise that you have to drive two hours a day to and from work. Instead of enjoying those 2 hours of driving everyday in your pride and joy and actually ENJOYING your car, you decide to buy a 1980 Volvo instead just so you don't "wear out your good car" and "put too many kms on it". You end up driving the Porsche about 50kms each weekend and do 2500kms a year in it. I hope you can see my point. As for telling you what I really think........ isn't that what we're here for? Or would you rather us all to just hold hands and tell you what you want to hear?

Hate to disagree, and as much as I love Hurricanes, their meat isn't on the same level as Prime. More heavily marinated and "tasty": yes, but quality of meat: no. But I like Hurricanes, and wouldn't be against going there if that's where we end up

Lane Cove Steak House is overpriced for the quality of food that it serves (very average IMHO)... Ribs n Rumps is more expensive, and the service is sh1thouse, but the quality of meat is lightyears ahead of LCSH. Otherwise we could step it up another notch and goto Prime or Kingsleys in the CBD? I vote for Ribs n Rumps in Manly.
