It says on that pretty spec sheet that it's running a Powerplay-tuned ECU. Best bet is to call Alistair and ask him what fuel he tuned it to... Hopefully he tuned it on 95 for safety, but if he tuned it to 98, just turn the boost down a bit like you planned, and she should be fine. If you're REALLY worried, get the timing retarded a bit. What boost are you running? I assume that you're exhaust is turbo-back and you have a high-flow cat. Regardless, with those minimal mods, I think the C55 will still beat you. Get a PowerFC, tune it for 1.4 bar for the race and you *SHOULD* beat him. Remember that he's got an auto and all he has to do is floor it. You have to get all your gear changes spot on. It'll be a tough race. Those AMG Mercs are beasts. I predict that if you race him, you'll be up for an expensive dinner bill.

That's ridiculous. Many people finance their cars, and that is absolutely NO REASON to walk away from a purchase. Just make 100% sure that the seller settles all encumberances on the car BEFORE you buy it. Even with what Amaru did (make the bank cheque out to the finance company), it is no guarantee that the seller will pass it on and clear the debt. If the finance company never gets their money, they can still repossess your new car. Your best bet is to put down a small amount (e.g. $500) to secure the car and show that you're serious and get seller to pay out the finance and clear up ALL encumberances on the car. That way, you can get yours REVS check certificate BEFORE you buy the car and are 100% protected against repossession. Not sure about the mismatching details though. That might be harder to clear up?

Shannons insured me with my GTR for agreed value of $65,000 for several years before I turned 25. They also offered to insure my R33 GTS-t with 280rwkw when I was even younger (but I found cheaper elsewhere). I have definitely found that Shannons staff really do base their decisions on their conversations with you and whether they feel comfortable having you on their books. They seem to have published "rules and restrictions" but are willing to bend them for the right people, with the right attitudes. Being a financial and active member of a car club like SAU and attending driver training days regularly and going to the track regularly proves that you're a true enthusiast who is honestly interested in increasing driving skill and not some hoon liable to write off his car and the Bentley in the next lane.
