  1. Didn't want to post these... Surely someone else had a working flash and took some decent pics
  2. Your criticisms after both this years and last years SNS's have been focused purely because you didn't think that the judging was fair. I'm sorry, but you simply COULD NOT have had fairer judging system than we did this year, within the allotted time frame. All judges came up with different ideas on who the winner of each catergory should have been, and averaging them out led to the eventuating winner. Simple and fair. And your input into the judging criteria in the first few SNS Organising Committee Meetings was greatly appreciated, I'm sure we made that clear... but some tangible help during the actual organising and running of the show would have been greatly appreciated instead of just showing up for a few meetings to put your 2c into the mix. I just wonder whether your posts would be different if you had won a trophy this year
  3. Although I'm all for expanding our trophy range next year, I don't think awarding more dinky trophies and seat belt pads will do anything to "ensure a friendly and sportsmans like atmosphere"... This lies solely on the attitude of entrants. In fact, the whole idea of awarding more prizes to promote "sportsmanship" is ridiuclous and completely backwards in my opinion. As I've said 100 times already. If you're concerned about winning a trophy, you've entered the wrong show.
  4. Paul, this was already suggested, and addressed earlier in this thread, or the one in the Events forum... In short, I think it's a bad idea as people will tend to congregate around some models more than others, leaving owners of our earlier generation brothers with a drastically reduced walkthrough rate.
  5. Awesome car you have mate
  6. Jim, Your car was absolutely beautiful! Sorry I didn't get a chance to chat to you on the day, I was running around like a headless chicken trying to organise the judging and also trying (in vain) to take some decent photos... What's the difference between a KGC10 and a KPGC10? I hope that you bring your car along to next years show... It wouldn't be a complete show without the classic skylines!!! :uh-huh: Sorry for the sucky photos... Photography wasn't on the top of my To-Do list that day I'm sure other people will have much better photos of your car!
  7. Bungalow 8 is a nice bar, and have a decent menu... Especially good on Tuesday nights when they have all-you-can-eat Mussels and chunky home-style fries for $18!! Perhaps we can save B8 for next month and move the dinner to a tuesday? Parking is a pain in the a55, and it's much better if you don't drive and can down a couple of beers with those mussels! I won't be attending this month's dinner, have other plans
  8. You would have gotten 1 point if you had a Skylines Australia sticker on your car, but you didn't even have that, so YOU FAIL!!! :upurs:
  9. I couldn't have said it better Thanks Andrea!
  10. I hope you drunkards aren't dissapointed when next month, we don't schedule a dinner in the city and you can't head to the RSL to get drunk before the dinner The city sucks for parking and I'm not battling it every month. And no, I'm not paying $20 for parking just for an SAU dinner either.
  11. Nope, I never saw "Why he flies"... Supposedly, neither did any of the judges
  12. I have to say though, that there is an inordinate amount of bitching about the judging. I know that it comes with the territory and some egotistical people will always be butt-hurt if their pride and joy doesn't win a prize. But fact of the matter is, the organisers tried their VERY BEST to make the judging as fair as possible, and reading all these comments about how one car should have won over another is 100% non-constructive. If you want to complain about the results, ring up Advan Performance, Race Brakes, Automotion Australia, GCG Turbos, etc, etc... As it was the sponsor representatives (and the SAU Vice-President) who did the judging, and not the organisers. ......... Okay, don't ring them, but I'm sure you can see where I'm going here. Instead of whinging that your mate's car should have taken Best R32 GTS-t, why not offer some constructive criticism as to how we could have made the judging fairer, keeping in mind the very limited time frame we have to work with. This Show 'n Shine event is meant to be a friendly get-together for all Skyline enthusiasts to show off their pride and joys. We thought it would be nice to give out some token trophies to some owners to show our appreciation for their support of our club and making the Skylines scene what it is today. If all we're going to get is bitching and in-fighting about who got a stupid trophy and who didn't, perhaps it would be best not to give out any prizes at all.
  13. Meiji: Thanks for the feedback! There was plenty of parking at the front and side of Mingara club for spectators, particularly in the area just before the entrance road into the rear carpark where we were setup. Surely we don't need to mark out a specific carpark for spectators to park in? Regarding putting the cars on the grass, we really didn't have much other choice. The cars needed to me somewhat spaced out to aid photography, and there simply was absolutely no chance in hell that we were going to fit 100 cars, plus sponsor stalls and sponsor demo cars in that small concrete carpark. The grass was the only option. The only bad thing about the grassy area was that it rained a few days ago, but that's not exactly something that could have been helped. Now considering the bad rap that import car owners have been getting in the press recently, it's not always the easiest task to find somewhere that is willing to be party to such a mass-gathering of Skylines. Mingara Club has been extremely supportive to our club, and willing to let us use the grounds free of charge for our shows. I personally think the cruise up is a nice drive, it's only an hour along the freeway, not exactly a major trek into the sticks! Besides, having the show up at Mingara didn't deter some of the magazines sending representatives and photographers up to cover the show, so don't worry about lack of coverage
  14. You are correct. The organisers know some of the winning cars. Do you really expect the ORGANISERS of a SKYLINES AUSTRALIA NSW CLUB - SHOW AND SHINE, *NOT* to know some of the entrant cars? Are you being serious here? :uhh: This is exactly why we employed the services of representatives from all the SPONSORS to carry out the judging and not the ORGANISERS, so that people couldn't complain about biased judging, but I guess there's always one person who thinks that their car or their mate's car is the best and should have won every catergory offered If you are seriously upset, because you or your mate's car didn't win a token trophy, some seat belt pads and a gearknob at a FRIENDLY Skylines Australia NSW Show 'n Shine, you really need re-assess your priorities. Everyone was out there for a good time and to meet other Skyline owners, and all you care about is that you or your mate didn't win a trophy? Jesus :uhh:
  15. No more PMs asking for SNS scores please. They will be posted up in due course.
