  1. The opposite could be said too... "because all these silly people didn't face facts and tried to sell their local cars for $10k+ more than an equivalent car could be imported for, the market is flooded"
  2. Ahhh... Well for the version they released to America, they removed all the J-pop songs, and replaced them with either American techno or hard rock :uhh: And changed all the character names: Takumi -> Tak Itsuki -> Iggy Natsuki Mogi -> Natalie etc etc... It's an OUTRAGE!!!
  3. Oh God... and let me guess................ "Iggy"? They must be screening the stupid dumbed-down Americanized version, for brainless Yanks who can't cope with proper Japanese names. Iggy = Takeushi Itsuki Tak = Fujiwara Takumi And no, I don't think the movie is better than the series... It's just a continuation of the series, lumped together in a 1.5 hour block and called a "movie"... The story line got a little lame in the "movie" IMHO, but definitely worth watching still. The best is still Stage 1 when Takumi is still developing as a road-racer
  4. As early as possible please, so we can get an idea of numbers! If possible we'd rather not get 3 pre-entries and 50 cars turn up and try to register on the day
  5. Rhy Takahashi? WTF? It's Takahashi Ryosuke and his brother's name is Keisuke
  6. Friday nights are reserved for destroying my liver
  7. As per site rules, please post a price.
  8. Where did anyone mention that they were going to be speeding?
  9. No-one asked you anyway, slow-ass GTS-t boy
  10. You can have boost without driving like a moron.
  11. Thanks for taking the time to design a shirt FriniK, but we're after a more generic and "simpler" design. After consultation with quite a few people, it has been decided that a fair percentage of non-GTR owners would NOT buy an SAU t-shirt if it had anything "GTR-based" on it. That includes all silhouettes of GTRs, RB26s, or any other nomenclature associated with GTRs (e.g. Godzilla). Personally, I don't understand it... As I don't think that you need to OWN a GTR to wear a shirt that says GTR on it... As long as you're a fan of the GTR, that should be more than enough reason to wear it. But anyway, it has been decided to keep the t-shirts generic and simple.
  12. Dude, there's a sticky in this VERY FORUM telling you how to attach images to your posts Here's the link: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=47677
  13. Hopefully I'll be sober enough and awake enough to drop by this Saturday when Kabab is there for a few power runs
  14. WHAT SCRATCHES?!?!?! :chairshot :uhh: :warning: :slap: :hellpisd: :soap: :bonk: :cuss: :talk2hand
  15. A great idea for sure, but we're just starting to test the market to see if people will buy SAU merchandise. I know I would for sure, but there are many people out there who are keen as mustard, but when time comes when shirts are ready, all we hear are crickets chirping! So we have to take things slowly, and start with cheaper merchandise so we don't expose ourselves too much financially as a club. So at first, I think the decision was made to order a stock of short sleeve t-shirts, long sleeve t-shirts and perhaps some crew shirts. For more expensive items like jackets, jumpers and the like, we might do a run on a pre-order basis, but we'll have to see.
  16. It's all good... B-Man loves teh c0ck
  17. Jim, If you wanted to know who I was, you just had to ask... It's no secret As for your post, I agree, and at no time did I question changing the oil at the intervals we did. If anything, I would have like to change it more often (perhaps add in another oil change at 1000kms?) I do remember you suggesting the change in heat range of the plugs to NGK 8's during the run-in tune, which I went along with because I thought you'd know best. But I was also told to change them again when I brought it back for the final tune, which I declined. Perhaps if I changed them then, it would have saved me another engine build? It's understandable I guess, but you seem bitter that I chose another workshop to do the engine build. Unfortunately the $10290 (tuning was extra - I still have the quote) you quoted me to assemble the engine wasn't within my expected budget. You know perfectly well that I would have loved you to have built my engine, but again, the costs were just too high. In the end, adding in the cost of the second build, it ended up costing about the same (a little less actually)... So I guess you could say: "Do it right the first time" (My favourite saying actually). But fact of the matter was, I had spent more than $14,000 on engine parts, and paying $10000+ to get it built just didn't seem right to me.... Oh and with the prices I quoted before, I was wrong on the first payment (I was at work when I posted, so didn't have the invoices on me)... The first tune was $1675, not $1800 as I first said. Apologies. The second tune is unknown. The bill I paid was $1295, but that included oil pressure gauge diagnosis. I was going off memory for the price of the tune that I was presented with. I remember it was as much as another full tune, which I refused to pay, and you relented and brought it down to the $650 ($500 for cam gears and $150 for boost controller - Thank you for being reasonable) which brought the total to $1295 for that visit. Which brought the total to $2970 for tuning and new oil pressure sender + install. When I buy another GTR, I will most probably take it back to you for tuning and possibly engine building... Now that I know the cost associated with getting you to do the good work that you do, I just have to make sure that I budget enough for I'm not left speechless when I get the bill  Cheers, Andrew.
  18. I've bloddy lost my Uniball Elite Pen. It's one of those biggish ones - Would have a clip attached to it. Last time I rememeber seeing it was on a cruise or meeting with the SAU mob - Maybe someone picked it up not knowing whose it was ? Anyway, if you know where it is , please contact me - cost me like $3.50 at the time - So as you can imagine, I'm keen to get it back. Cheers
  19. That's quite a leap of faith there Marko... That statement requires an unwavering belief that everything said workshop suggests is completely in the customer's best interests. I can assure you that whilst it is probably OPTIMAL to change oil and spark plugs every single time you start the car, it is UNNECESSARY. Just like it was unnecessary to change the brand new NGK Plat spark plugs when I brought in my car for tuning. New ones were put in when the engine was built, and changed AGAIN after initial 5 hour bedding-in, and AGAIN after 2000km run-in. Agreed, but labelling not changing the oil and spark plugs before EVERY dyno tune a "shortcut" is quite an over-reaching statement. It is not necessary if your oil was changed less than 5000kms earlier, and your spark plugs are still in perfect condition. Changing them just for the hell of it, "to be safe" is really just another way to drive up the profit margins of a given workshop. Not always, but in my case it was unnecessary. I never claimed that they were "there to rip others off". You again over-reached to come to that conclusion. But since you seem to want an example: When I brought my GTR in for tuning after the engine build, I was told that Jim has 95% tuned the car, but not dialed the cam gears in. That would be done after the 2000km run-in period. They asked me to pay for the tuning in full now ($1800 - I didn't complain AT ALL) and was told that when I brought it back after the run-in period, I would just have to pay $500 for dialing in the cam gears. The $1800 I paid now would cover Jim cleaning up the tuning to make sure it handled more boost and final power runs. I was happy with that, and paid gratefully for their good work. When I came back, they carried out great work as usual, but slapped me with a $1400 bill for minimal tuning corrections and cam gear adjustment. They completely denied that I had previously paid for the tuning in full and all I had to pay for was the cam-gear dialing in, as per previously agreed upon. COMPLETELY DENIED IT. That's right, they wanted to charge me $3200 for bedding in the engine, tuning it and final power runs. Draw your own conclusions. NEVER have I bad mouthed CRD. I consider Jim a mate, and he has tuned many of my previous cars PERFECTLY. I have never had any bad experiences with their work, it has ALWAYS been 100% top notch. All I'm saying is that I hope you have DEEP DEEP pockets, because you certaintly pay for their expertise.
  20. I always thought that it was a 7 litre sump extension, but it seemed to take about 7.5 litres each time when Jim did the two oil changes.
  21. Bugger Oh well... Don't exactly want to be riding around on iffy rubber with that car. Better get that wheel alignment checked out too... I was going to get a full JIC adjustable upper arms, lower arms, radius rods, etc for it, but didn't get to it before you stole the car. Perhaps a Whiteline adjustable bushes kit in the meantime would help?
  22. There was a fair amount of meat left on those tyres?!?!
