We sell GE HIDs to many companies and have never had a problem with Legality. Officially, ADR requires Auto leveling and headlamp washers fitted for HIDs. Auto leveling adjusts the level of headlight depending on number of passengers (as passengers at the back lifts the front of the car). They do not level as the car drives along. They reason why BMWs change colour is due to the projector they use. (its like a rainbow effect, light coming from the side of the projector has the shortest wave length hence blue) Washers are used to keep headlight free from ice. As you can imaging, snow and ice and reflect alot of light and this can cause HIDs to be "glary". ADRs regarding HIDs are copied directly from the european ECE 37 regulations. In Europe, some counties do have lots of snow and hence the washers, however, they are useless in most parts of Australia. In US and JAP, HIDs don't need to be self leveling or washers. However, this is soon to change.

I've just imported a R32 GTR though a dealer in Melbourne. Its a 93 model and needs to be complianced before it can be driven. The dealer i'm getting it from doesn't have the compliance plates and is using my car as the test car. However, due to Christmas and everything, the government inspections are on holidays and can not look at the car will the end of Jan so i won't be getting the car till feb. Is there another way of getting the car on the road qujicker? i can't wait

Did R32 Vspecs come with Bilsteins standard? I just bought a Vspec. Its a 93 model with solid disc Brembos front and rear.

i recently imported a R32 VSPEC for 30K, it was 4 grade and very clean (not perfect, little signs of age on the interior) it had 80K kms on it. VSPEC and VSPEC 2 are fetching big $$$ atm because there were 1500 ish made of each model compared with 40,000 of the normal GTRs, making them fairly rare. The guy i'm using as an agent is using this car as a test car to get the compliance plates for late model R32s so i was pretty much garanteed a clean car
