Thanks for the info guys....i think its a matter of "what you pay for is what you get"..... Ethanol may be cheaper and better for the environment ( as has been stated in the opening post link) but it doesnt, as far as i can gather, make the car run smoother or more economically. All the best guys and girls, Regards Evan

Dude, what fuel are you using? Ive recently started to use a 10% ethanol blend of fuel and have since (second tank full) had stalling issues. Im going to start using Shell or caltex only high octane fuel. I still had about 3/4 of a tank of 10% ethanol fuel in the tank and i filled up with 98 octane and it looks, so far, to have fixed the prob. Kind reagrds Evan

Hi all, Just recently ive decided to take advantage of the 98 octane 10% ethanol blend of fuel and can't say that ive had too much success. Just wondering if anyone else out there is in favour or against this type of fuel. I have noticed that although my car (R33) runs smoother and the fuel is currently seller for alot cheaper (1.30 per leter in adelaide) my car stalled as i was rounding a corner and if scared the crap out of me.....the stearing got really heavy (power assisted stearing failed) and i had to really struggle to keep the car on the straight and narrow. No damage done, but just wondering if anyone out there has had simular occurances since running an ethanol blend of fuel. I went the the following web site when looking into ethanol fuel and as the article states under the "Will Ethanol damage my vehicle or affect its performance?, and i quote "If very Ethanol rich fuel is used this may cause an engine to stall. Which may be what has happened with my incident. Website = http://www.raa.net/page.asp?TerID=146 Anyways just wondering if anyone else has had a situation like this. Also which brand of high octane fuel are people using out there, eg shell, caltex, mobile etc. Kind Regards Evan

Hi guys and girls, This post has already been posted up in the South Australian events section but i thought it might get some extra reading in this section too. Whats happening is that im trying to raise some funds for the Leukeamea Foundation and in particular raise money for the transport of the people (mostly children), too and from the various facilities for treatment around Adelaide. A simple gold coin donation to enter the cruise is all thats required and it would be great to see a heap of people out and about to support the foundation and its cause. I already have a heap of interest with the original posting and various cars are comming out (including skylines....funny bout that!!!, Lancers, 180's, Silvia's, WRX's, Saura's, Integra's and more) Well would be great to see as many people out on the streets of Adeaide supporting this great cause. At the moment in trying to finilise a date for the cruise (weather permitting) but it should be on a sunday, bout 11am kick off I have spoken to the Leukaemia foundation and the police to make this cruise official and without much hassle and its going smoothly so far. Im thinking of starting in town (possibly the Adelaide Oval) if no other event is taking place, then a short cruise through town, down Anzac highway and through Glenelg, stop for lunch at the Glenelg Baseball Club (again if no event is being played) then possibly a shirt hills run up Belair road. Please guys, this is for a good cause and if you think its a good idea or still 50/50 bout it please post something to give me rough numbers of interest. I will post a flyer of the event as i get things finilised. Kind Regards Evan

Hi guys and girls, Had a meeting with The Leukaemia Foundation and i have been given the all clear to include this organisation into the cruise. I am in the process of making a flyer and i will post it in this post and in the general post section. I will also be placing it up around Adelaide including the Glenelg area, Richmond, City, including the Royal adelaide hopsital and other places that i can place the flyer up. Well again thatnks guys and girls for the support so far, ill get back to ya soon. Regards Evan

Im sorry to hear about the accident and the fatalities involved, i just hope all invlved are dealing with this situation the best way they can and their families and friends are supporting them too. It sounds like everyone here is willing to help and show genuine passion for the people involved. I know it may have been said before, but if anyone wants to share what ward Drew is in (if he is still in hospital). Previous posts suggest The RAH and others say FMC, which on e is it. I work at the RAH as a Registered NUrse and thus, would be easy to pop in to say hi if he is still. Well all the best guys and once again its great to hear some truelly caring people on a posting. Hope to see you on the streets of Adelaide again Drew, get well soon. Kin degards Evan

Paying $950 for comprehensive for my r33 4 door non turbo. They said there was only a $50 difference for turbo. I got full comprehensive with optional rating one. Mags, stereo, exhaust, window tinting included. $700 excess Situation = 22 years old, No accedent history, driving since 16 1/2 Thats it, i think im doing alright!!! Regards Evan -
Id spend the $130-$150 on a full service and tune if you havent already done so. I found a few little issues like lagging and for air flow solved with a good service and a decent air filter (im using one called "uni filter"), costa about $80, running beautifully now, very smooth. Hope this is an option for your ride, all the best. Regards Evan PS) Please checkout cruise for a cause post in the SA events posting page

Hey all, ive spoken to the police today (thursday 18/5) and they have asked me to, on the specific day, inform the police stations that i will be going past and they said that the cruise will be cool, as long as we aren't driftin' (around every corner) too much and acting like idiots, we should be ok. Ive also contacted one of the managers of the Leukemia Foundation and she has yet to get back to me, but all is looking good so far! Ill post up the date of the cruise when im sure about a date but theres a good posibility that it will be on a sunday aprox 11 am, but thats all in the workings.......... Keep posted for date and venue locations Regards Evan PS) These are my new rims

Need Insurance? Want Cheaper Insurance?

Hey guys, i found just cars (im in adelaide, not sure if just cars is throughout australia) a good insurance company. Well.....for starters they were the only mob who would insure me and secondly it wasnt that expensive compared to others. I got full comprehensive with rating one for just under 1k. Not bad considering it was a R33 4 door.....and yes insurance companies that is an import!!! Regards Evan -
Dude, whats the latest......someone mentioned insurance previously, have you enquired about gting compensated for your huge loss? Hope something positive comes out of this crap situation....goodluck!! Regards Evan
-
Hi all, Im looking at organising a car cruise around adelaide (possbbly city, to glenelg, hills then back to glenelg or the city to finish) and at the same time raise some needed cash for a Leukemia House that has just been opened near to my house. As a Registered Nurse i understand that money is a large help in transporting people with cancer to hopsitals (usually kids) and any help would be great. So......i thought id try and get a few lads and ladies out and around adelaide to be seen and to raise a bit of cash for the Leukemia foundation. I have already spoken to a number of interested people and have cars such as R33 4 door (Mine), Integra, Soara, Lancer, Supra, FTO's...and more. Well i hope this gets some interest and if you are, please email me persoally at [email protected] so i can message you the details for the cruise when i know the exact time and date. Hope to see as many out and about, and even if your still 50/50 bout it please message me and ill keep you updated. All the best guys, Evan
