Convertible Skyline Ever Been Done? Lol
240k convertible replied to boostn0199's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Not all convertible conversions have underperforming chassis, some like mine will actually handle better than their original counterparts (most won't though). My K is stiffer than an original one with a roof. It has had 3mm x 100mm x 50mm x 1.5m long steel box sections connecting the front and rear subframes, plates at the bottom of the a pillar, the entire rear seating area has been plated from b pillar to b pillar. It can now lift 3 wheels in the air with one jack. Once you've owned a vert (assuming you live in a nice climate) you'll always want one in the garage. -

Well then you'll be very happy with what I've done to my Skyline convertible, V8 motor, Gtr brakes, multi link irs and still running the original seats and interior and steering wheel. -

Would I be correct in assuming you fall into the category of people who think big plastic body kits look cool? -

For Sale 1994 R33 GTS-T Skyline RB25det Manual $6000 I'm selling it cheap as I have just bought a 07 4x4 hilux The Good It has been used as a daily driver without any problems. It is mod plated for a turbo, piping and intercooler but only has a modified intercooler on it, still running std turbo. The mod plate info hasn't got a brand of turbo listed so you can put on whatever type you want. Nismo mags and 300km dash. 3inch turbo back exhaust. 300zx ecu New tyres, 95% tread I have just gotten a roadworthy for it without any issues, this is current till mid january LED taillights The car drives nice with a minimal bodyroll but still doesn't destroy your spine on a long drive. I was going to keep this as a toy but the gf won't approve so it has to go . . . something about a 1 skyline at a time rule. The Bad The timing belt was replaced recently but when it was done the bearings in the pulleys weren't replaced, they now make noise and will need to be replaced. 8 ball gearstick (sooooo lame) stupid blow off valve that doesn't work, this should be replaced Window switches need to be replaced Don't text with stupid offers, I won't respond Call Andrew on 040 666 55 45

240k convertible replied to 240k convertible's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
That depends on if you can do the job yourself, if so it will cost $40 for replacement bearings minimum, you should really do the water pump which I'm not sure of the cost, at the same time. The timing belt that's in it has only had a couple of thousand kms on it but some would replace that as well. I had planned to do it all my \self but started a new job and had to buy the ute. the clock says 157076 but as you can see the numbers aren't nice and even so it's suspect. To confuse matters more the transport dept have it listed at 166,000kms. The engine has been replaced recently and was supposedly 80,000ish k's, this was when they put the new belt in and didn't bother with the bearings. If your keen it's best to come and see the car as it's surprisingly good for the price. I spent a long time finding one so nice and cheap but am not allowed it as a company car so it has to go. I'm not greedy so I'm passing on my savings to whoever buys it. There is no point having two skylines as toy cars so the 33 has to go. -

Test drives are welcome but I won't be letting anyone behind the wheel until they show me the money! I can meet people at Garden City or near there. Call Andrew on 040 666 55 45 It is the Beetroot coloured (someone actually had it resprayed this colour) 33 behind my gf, I'll post more pictures in time to come.

That's my little hottie import from the UK When she agreed to get into the boot of the vert and touch up the hard to reach areas I couldn't spray into I knew I was onto something good. This is probably more the kind of shot you we're after though.

I was right near the end of the line and myself and the guys in front were waving to a lot of the people trying to get somewhere. At the Curtis Falls turn off there was a large line of cars like no other I have ever seen on Tambo (I grew up there) who didn't look too happy. We should have gone up a different way regardless of the condition of the road. It would have been much better to skirt around the base of the mountain through Canungra and go up the goat track (this rd is seriously wicked with hairpin after hairpin), the army live firing signs add to the appeal of the rd. It does have the only traffic light on Tambo but that's because it goes down to one lane width. Most of my shots didn't turn out nice but here are a few that did.

I used these guys recently Jobson's 14 Young St Annerley QLD 4103 (07) 3393 0934 They were a lot cheaper than any other quote I had and did a good job. It's two old guys working from a garage on mainly older style cars. Hope it helps

You left out the last text muppet. By the way I only offered half the asking price to find out what you were really after, why would someone waste their time inquiring about a 13k car if they only had 5k? go figure. I'm actually a genuine buyer with over 10k but when you told me to go buy a corolla and then if I get 10k you'll give me permission to "ask" again, I thought what a wanker let's just turn this into the insult fest it deserves to become. Readers might like to note it took me two hours to respond because I had better things to do with my time "work on the convertible" than to wait around my phone for a text. I reiterate my point if you aren't so rude to people when they inquire about your car you will have more chance of selling it! There aren't many people in Australia who would seriously consider buying your car and you've just turned one away. -

I had these plates laser cut and welded one to the firewall, the other to the pedal bracket and used two of them as spacers between the bracket and firewall. They fit R34,R33,S15 boosters and any other that have the same stud pattern. I'll sell them for $10 each + postage and can get more cut if need be. They are 3mm thick but if you want thicker let me know. I only have about 5 left.

That's ok I'm a hoarder too. I can't go any boost unless I go to the 273 block which I'm not keen to do. The 318 N/A is the biggest small block you can fit "legally" and get registered in NSW with the c110. Once it's stroked properly it'll end up about 390cuin and have approx 300kw at the wheels and be a lazy low revving v8. I want it to be reliable so it won't see above 5500 rpm much. If I boosted it with say this http://www.paxtonauto.com/product.php?id=127 it would have too much power and would just spin the wheels too much. You can't floor it off the mark now with the old tired 318 so I don't want to go too far overboard . . . . . . . it's a little late to say that isn't it Below is the link for engine swap info http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/dow...ns_nov_2007.pdf Burnout comp at the nats would be very nice!

Nice to see another K being restored -
The Fxx's lap time has been disqualified as it went around the track on racing slicks not road tyres. Ben Collins apparently outed himself to an art gallery when he wanted some prints of the stig made but I'd happily believe that shuey is the stig not Ben., although it seems unlikely that Ferrari would've let him have the time off for top gear when he was racing for them.

Top Gear Aus Toolish Statement
240k convertible replied to Keeper's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Shouldn't be drag racing on the street anyway Top Gear series 13 is out now, just started downloading it. Top Gear Australia is shit. -
I would scratch the camaro off your list of cars you want to buy as your not going to see it over here. GM has just dumped the Pontiac range and won't be importing the VE anymore so I can't see how they'd send the Camaro over here unless Holden gets the tooling for the body and starts making them in Australia. There is a lot of talk going around about GM and Chrysler being forced to merge so there may not even be a GM in the future. You should just buy a R34 GT-R it's a better car.

Top Gear Aus Toolish Statement
240k convertible replied to Keeper's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Don't be scared a turbo 6 is more than a match for the majority of V8's just look at the xr6t vs the xr8 it regularly kicks it's bigger brothers teeth in. I always wondered what it would have happened if the KPGC10 GT-R and KPGC110 GT-R were raced at bathurst back in the day, probably just would have gotten Skylines banned from racing a little sooner I suspect -
