  1. So you would recommend lowering the boost? It has a setting at 19.5psi but i feel that is probably a little high also? In the end it depends how i drive it i guess. Future plans are to put forged pistons and some better rods in it. Just so it can handle 330kw without letting go on some random occasion.
  2. Hi guys, I have been doing a lot of reading over the last few days on these forums as i need to learn more about the RB26 since im coming from an EJ20 My 1994 R32 GTR is running 22.5psi with 2860-7's (making 325kw @20psi). Now i see a lot of internally stock engine setups are only running 16-20psi. Do you think there is any danger running 22.5psi using stock pistons/rods etc? The car has ARP head studs and a cometic steel gasket, obviously to help with the higher boost, but how will the internals hold up (no track work with the car)? The cylinder head was reconditioned recently (not by me) but as far as i know the bottom end is stock. More info on my setup is: Power FC (of course!) Bosch 044 pump Bigger injectors (unknown size) Twin 2860-7's Dump pipes 3" into 3.5" exhaust Steel Head Gasket, Studs, etc Adjustable cam gears The car is absolutely crazy on 22psi and in this wet weather will happily spin the rears to over 150km/h in 3rd Quite fun (and SCARY indeed!) Cheers, Shaun
  3. While on topic of harmonic balancers.. Would an aftermarket one help with idle stability? My gut says no! But i dont know coming from a WRX that doesn't require one! My R32 GTR has a rough idle (rough meaning the car shakes a little along with the steering wheel between 1,000-1,300rpm) and its either a tune issue, engine mount, or that the internals are not balanced.. Do RB26's often have a slightly rough idle? GTRsean- My car is much like yours
  4. Yes i'd say that looks correct. The one on my WRX vented to Atmo AND had one go back to the air intake and i never had an issue. If i cant find one, i will get one custom made up to suit. I must say, this GTR is a much more exciting car than the WRX. Im glad i moved on to the GTR team
  5. yeah i dont want to do that if i can avoid it! I have seen ones that sit at the back of the cylinder head where the standard oil breather hose runs. From hi octane racing i believe i have seen them. On my wrx i had a small one about 25mm thick that fit between the battery and the headlight.
  6. Hi Guys, Pretty new to the GTR scene, i have a 1994 R32 GTR That has 2x 2860-7 turbo's running 22psi. It doesn't have a catch can but needs one as i looked in the intake and there was a puddle of oil! So what do people run in GTR's? Something that looks stock(ish) is preffered. My mate has 3 in his GTR, yes 3! And i certainly dont want that! Thanks, Shaun
  7. Doing a burnout/skid when drag racing is about 2 things. Warming the tires, and CLEANING the tires so you don't leave junk down the straight.
