  1. thanks for the reply and good luck finding your car and money. talked to them both and i dont trust them but i cant prove it!
  2. The installers name is quickfit and i think the have changed their name to melbourne car sound. They are on the corner of high and yan st in preston, melborne. I went out there with a mate today to sus things out more, and found out his 22 yo The land of goat sphincter rings installer has gone on holidays to queensland? When I asked how he was getting up there I was told driving. Aparently he was in newcastle at about 10am today. Now im no police man but how many people today drive from melbourne to queensland for a holiday today? Then I told him I would taking him to court. He then stopped talking to me and asked me to leave.
  3. Went to the police on monday, told them everything and they said they would investigate it. Still havnt heard anything from them. thanks.
  4. Thanks again to everyone who have responded, your support is overwelming! You have all got gold hearts! The installer in question is not the owner but a guy who is going out with the owners daughter and because he didnt have a job the owner employed him. I spoke to a soliciter today who mainly deal with motor cars and they told me, based on the information that was left behind on the remote (that the alarm was triggered then disarmed) and the fact the installer did not explain to me about the "disarming without a remote" feature, and was convenietly located on the flashing led which doubles up as a disarming button(which i mounted on the dash for maximum visibility), I have a reasonable case. What gets me is I have seen this disarming feature in other alarms but it is always hidden under the dash with the rest of the wires, sometimes even hard to find. Why would such a large company like "directed electronics" make it so easy for someone to bypass your $1000 dollar car alarm as long as you have a key. The solicitor said if i loose the case it would cost anywhere from 3-6 grand depending on how long it takes. But if we win we will be claiming 30 grand plus legal cost. They asked me to think about it and get back to them. (sore a cool GTR pass by me today, f**k I mis that sound!!) What does everybody think? And yes I did go back and confront the installer and he did not look suprised, if fact shortly after I told him about the theft he excused himself and went straight back to work! One again thanks Nick 0419333474
  5. Thanks mate. Thanks for your help. You may be onto something there...... How can a theif steal without a hand? I definitly will be voting for you next election! Thanks mate! Nick.
  6. Thanks very much everyone for your support and good wishes. Good luck to all of you with your fantastic cars and futures. Here are some pictures of what my car looked like after I installed my 19s. Also i have added 2 pictures of my alarm remote with an extract of the users guide. I rang up the Directed distributer here in melboure and he assured me that according to the sysmbols left on the remote the alarm was deactivated using the "valet" feature. In order to use this feature you need a copy of the original key. The way it works is you enter the vehicle, the alarm start sounding then you turn the ignition on and press the valet buttom between 1-5 times depending on what the installer programs it to. The valet button is also the l.e.d which flashes red indicating the alarm being active. In my case I asked to install it on a pop out plastic peice the size of a 50c on the dash. So the valet button is not concealed under the dash!!!! The intresting and suspisious thing was my installer never told me that this was a feature of the alarm. Had i been aware of how easy it was to drive of with my car I would have taken aprropiate measure's. I wonder if I have a leagal case? I bought the vehicle from a 40 yo guy who lived in ivanhoe, top bloke! Unfortunatly he was fighting cancer for 9 years and wasnt sure how much longer he had. So he had no use for 2 cars. His other car was a 911. Does anyone know how hard or easy it would be to turn the ignition on without a key and how long would it take? Thanks again everyone[attachm nt=24707:attachment] Nick 0419333474 I live 4 blocks from the alarm installer. And yes they knew were i lived because they asked me and stupid me I told them. You dont need a remote. I have just discovered that all you do in the event you loose your remote, is turn the ignition on and press the "Valet" button between 1-5 times (depending on what you request) and presto!!!! The car starts as if it was your own!! The suspicious thing is I was never told of this feature? Thanks for your response. Nick
  7. yes. going again tommorow morning.
  8. I recently have discovered the young 22 yo guy who installed my "state of art alarm"was of middle eastern background. I was also told by a toe truck driver mate their is a gang of middle eastern background, in the melbourne area stealing jap imports cars for a living. He rekons my car is in cambellfeild being dismembered! Whats the chances my installer made a copy of the key while my car was in their workshop getting my $3,600 worth of DVD/TV/CD and blaunput amp with MB speakers, including bluetooth handsfree then waited a few weeks and then paid my street a visit with his mates? Sad if its true.....
  9. Yes mate I know, I have called myself stupid and many other names as well! I definitly have learnt my lesson! But I must say what has pissed me off the most was not the $30,000 plus grand some individials have stolen from me....... But the fact that this original GTR was the last of it series (apart from the rear spoiler), it had 67 klm (and it looked and drove like it). But most of all it was a beautiful motor car that some smart japanese created to be driven by enthusiast like us! NOT to be stripped and cut up for money hungry, evil people!
  10. thanks for your response everyone. the car was parked in the street and it has been there for 2 months all my neighbours know my car and they didnt see anything. This car meant alot to me, my wife bought it for me for chistmas, that just past. Ill be offering $5,000 cash for anyone who can bring it back. No questions asked! Nick 0419333474
  11. Thanks ill be posting some pictures tommorow.
  12. Thanks for your support everyone. There was only one set of keys which were hidden inside the house. The alarm is made by "directed" the web site is www.directed.com they make viper hornet and about 8 other brands including automate. The web site is www.automatecarsecurity.com . The strange thing was the unlock symbol on the remote (which also beeps an vibrates) was open and showed a tamper on the screen as well! it was a remote engine start together with an engine immoboliser and they suposidly offer 2500 US cashback if its stolen in the first year. So i thought it was the best alarm. So i guess somebody knew how to disarm this alarm. What a waste of money. i think i would be better of with a clublock and pull a wire or fuse out! The Rego is SGC309. It is a 1994 r32 GTR white with a large carbon fibre rear wing. The neighbours said they heard nothing and my street is full of new townhouses. I thought these alarms were the best! Thanks again everyone. Nick 0419333474
  13. Hi everyone, i need help. My 1994 gr2 gtr was stollen tonight. when i first bought this car 3 months ago all my childhood dreams came true! then tonight when i came home, the GTR and my dreams were stollen. I live in melbourne, preston. It was a white gtr with a very large karbon fibre wing in the rear with 19inch wheels with 295 in the back and 255 in the front. the rims were a deep dish type and were dark grey in colour. it had some mild modifications. alarm was a automate (viper) state of the art alarm (cost 1 grand!). and lastly it wasnt insured!!!!! was reading some more stollen post tonight and i realised that my baby might be stripped for parts!!!!!!! any help would greatly be appreciated and rewarded. nick 0419333474
