I reckon the delivery of the turbo plays a definite part in the ET, and the on-off responsiveness between gears in the trap speed and ET for sure. The G3 as Stao says has good 'rush' up top, but a little lazy in and out of gears (on stock manifold low mount I mean) and kind of like a light switch delivery in 1st and 2nd which makes juggling bog/wheelspin hard off the line. And obviously driver experience at the strip

Those wheels actually really suit the 33 ^ Have you tried with the centre caps? Is it possible to blank out the GTR logo on em?

Every time I see a clean series 2 r33 like that I No homo

Hahaha. Would it be worth trying to get hold of the special soldering iron you'd need vs just buying another block from a wrecker if it died again?
-
-
What spoiler is that one? Looks like a carbon ducktail or somethin.
-
YES!!! Fixed it! Johnnilicte you were totally right man. I went back to the wrecker and asked to try another relay since I felt that this relay is a common fault and that the 1st relay from the wrecker had a rattle when you shake it next to your ear, I figured it wouldn't hurt at least. The guy was cool and grabbed me another one, and it actually worked. To everyone with this abs dash-light fault and error code from OBD2 scan, try a relay box from a friend with a known working system, or go to a wrecker and try a few. This saved me hundreds. Thanks again dude
-
Thanks man, but it turned out to be the relay after all. To everyone with that abs error, go to a wrecker and try the relay. Try multiples to make sure.

You running e85 in the evo now Hamish?

Aw shit

I was looking at the ABS relay modules for 34's on ebay and they look different exterior wise to 33. Does anyone know if internally they are the same thing? IE will testing my friend's 34 module on my 33 actually be a valid test or are they totally different? Here's a 34 one: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/nissan-r34-gtt-skyline-abs-pump-brake-unit-1998-/251175536077?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a7b3a85cd&_uhb=1#ht_500wt_1180

Hey mate. Thanks but I'm on Gold Coast. What I meant was my existing relay has that number on it, and the one from the wreckers is the same obviously. I'm getting my friend with the 34 to check his tomorrow morning. Can't see why it'd be different though.

There was only white writing on the underside saying 6514

Do you know if I can try an r34 one? A mate has a GT-T I can snatch his for 5 minute test..

Mine failed that test

A while ago my ABS warning light lit up on my dash, and naturally I ignored it for a while However I eventually got around to an auto electrician and they diagnosed the fault via OBD2 cable. Here's what they wrote on my receipt: Run diagnostics test. Find ABS motor fault. Code said: ABS Motor (off failure) I did some searching here on SAU and saw some threads about how the relays attached to the ABS motor (black box with plugs) is a common fault. My symptom also matched someone else who had this problem. If I hold the brake pedal and start the car, no ABS warning light comes one. However as soon as I release the brake, ABS light comes on. Today I went to a wrecker and managed to pick up one of these black relay boxes, and plugged it in but same issue, ABS light still on. Does this mean that it's likely the actual ABS motor is failed? Should I look somewhere else?
-
So you can just take it out to your car and plug it in at the actual wrecking yard before paying?
-
+1 for pics. I have ABS Motor off failure according to readout from OBD2 but would like to try this first.

Nice work on the run hanaldo. Sounds exactly like mine and landscribble's. Same sort of runs, and trap speeds. Mine was doing the same thing, either bogging or wheelspinning, so I definitely need a lot more practice at taking off, it's quite the balancing act. What Lithium said is interesting, because my friend with a standard turbo r34 always goes on about how laggy it is between gears boost wise. I'll try find a video of my run and then post it up. Also, geez you're revving that rb25 high!

Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines
copycutter replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I don't know if you could even get 215 on a 9.5 or a 10 inch rim. Doubt it though. And I would say those rim widths and offsets are a bit much for an r34 with un-massaged guards. -
That's funny landscribble. I went to willowbank a couple of months ago and got 13.6 @ 109 as my best time too. Same turbo as you, was 355whp on 18psi, 98ron at the time. First time to the drags, so very terrible 60fts, I'm no good at launching at all, but still had a great time and learned a lot. Although from what I'm told my end mph won't vary much except if power or weight significantly changes, even if I learn to launch properly.

Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines

Depends on wheel type up front. I had 9.5 +38 not clear the front brakes, but 8.5 +30 all good. Same exact brand and type of wheel, just more/less concave spokes. Edit: rears I have used both 9.5 +20 (current) and 9.5 +38 (to test) and were fine with guards rolled and 235/45/18. -

I don't have a specific measurement but it is a bit lopsided. I'll get it looked at when I get some more parts fitted. Thanks all. -
Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines

Mine's pretty noticeable. One side poked the other side flush. Why would they have it this way from factory? Surely all the mechanicals are fairly well tightened down at Nissan when they're new.
