Will This Fix My Wheel Scrubbing Issue
copycutter replied to copycutter's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
They're just stock brakes, but for some reason the +38's spokes design on the CR Kai means the spokes hit the edge of the brake caliper. I've tried 5mm slip ons - still fouls. It's just the shallow design that comes with that offset. I've got 9.5 +20's on the rear and I had to initially run them up front until I got the front spacers, and they cleared easily. I've never seen bolt on spacers in 7-8mm and I'm not real keen on slip ons, especially over 5mm. -
Will This Fix My Wheel Scrubbing Issue
copycutter replied to copycutter's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Can't ditch the spacer or the wheels foul the calipers. -
Hi guys, I've got a s2 r33 gts-t with a wheel scrubbing issue up front. Components wise here's what I've got on there: 18 x 9.5 +38 with 15mm bolt on spacers (think this makes it effectively +23?) Sydneykid bilstein/whiteline coilovers 245 wide tyres Guards rolled The scrubbing occurs when I hit a big bump, when I transition a lot of weight onto one wheel (high speed cornering) or say if I'm going downhill and turn hard and transition onto one side etc. I think from looking at the markings on the guards, that the main issue is because this wheel and tyre combo edge sits in line with the outer guard edge, so there's not a lot of travel distance needed to make contact and relatively soft suspension. Here are some pics of where the wheel sits and the markings: I have thought about doing Stiffer coilovers Front camber arms/bush kit Try fit thinner tyres on same rims Thinner rims/thinner tyres Is it possible with some combination of neg camber and smaller width tyres to fix this, or will I need to go to a smaller rim & tyre combo only? Ideally I'd have an 18 x 8.5 +30 on there without the spacers, but this is the most expensive option, so I thought I'd ask some experts on here first if it's possible to work with what I have. Cheers.

Hmmm. I don't think it's an intake restriction since I have a 4" aluminium intake as others do. If your "cold side" of your intercooler piping is quite warm (hot side is burning hot) during dyno runs does that generally point to cooler also? Or is it not unusual to have warm IC piping during power runs? I've put my hand on it after going for a drive before and it's been cool, but that's not really the same as flogging it on the dyno.

Does a lack of decent increase in power per psi increase usually point to intercooler limitation?

If you have the adapter then I would imagine an s15 t28 would be similar responsiveness with the ability for more boost due to steel wheels. Although I doubt even a t28 would match the stocker for response due to the lightweight materials in the stocker that make it de-laminate at higher boost. Any upgraded turbo you are going to be sacrificing some response but with these smaller high flows I think you get more back in terms of power than what you lose in response. If you truly want instant "big engine" delivery out of a station wagon then you might have to consider a big engine station wagon. In saying this I reckon a mild high flow would be enough to make you happy without having to bastardise SR turbos onto your RB.

Fs R33 Series 2 Parts Wreaking
copycutter replied to Johnie's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Hey johnie, do you have the driver's side interior door handle/cup thingy? The thing you put your fingers into to close the driver door once you sit inside. -
Moar pics plz Paul. Holy granoly.

Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines
copycutter replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
What camber are you running up front kasko (just upper camber arms)? Did you remove the guard liners due to scrubbing or just as a precaution? -
Awesome car Tim. What wheel specs?

What's missing from your setup hanaldo? I saw your powercruise video (sounds great) and can see your mods/output in your sig. Looks pretty good to me, just not running as much boost as some of the other guys are.

Wheels Sticking Out Of Arches. Illegal?
copycutter replied to ishyz34's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Can people negate a small amount of poke outside the arches with camber? Or do they usually just go smaller tyre/more stretch? -
Thanks. If I'm changing from type A to type B, do I need to get a new gasket of some sort for the new flange to go on? I just want to make sure I have all parts ready for the swap over. I'll have a new dump pipe gasket & new dump pipe, so I mean between the turbo rear housing and the flange plate itself.
-
Hey Stao, do you have a comparison dyno graph of the G3 with original rear housing flange and the type B one I got from you?

R33 Rear Subframe
copycutter replied to ECR-033's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Nup lol I just moved 9.5 +20s to the rear so both sides are a bit past the guard and you can't notice unless you're a trainspotter. Ghey problem to have though... I just can't justify spending money hunting it down and fixing it. -
Hey Stao, if I want to fit that type B rear housing flange plate to my G3, do I need to change gaskets for it?

1St Juke-R In Owners Hands

I really liked this video by Car and Driver too. Looks like a laugh, but most people with the money would choose a car to be taken seriously in. I loooove the slow mo effect in this video. I'm trying to figure out how to do it with my gopro camera -

No worries I agree. If OEM's are at all involved in making the performance car landscape more varied and interesting I say why not? Bring on the lulz. They're all sold, even at that ridiculous price. Wait till you start seeing AMS Alpha 12 Juke's destroying Italian exotics on youtube. -
It's the 1st car in this pic thread - the purple pearlescent r32 with the big bonnet scoop. http://www.boostcruising.com.au/forums/index.php?showtopic=2134749 They go on to discuss the mods further down and that the bonnet choice is only just because it's been completed and the regular bonnet wouldn't close over the taller engine.

Yup just got a gtr one, will be fitting it soon since my tuner said he blocked the stock one due to leaking during tuning. His words, not mine. It doesn't run nicely with no bov with my setup, revs hunt around and wastes fuel revving back up as the engine gasps for air. When I had stock turbo no bov didn't affect anything, but with bigger turbo & fuel system it runs like ass with no bov, so I'll have the gtr one on soon once I can get the intake fitting for the larger hose welded on. As for size difference, I think theres a pic of them side by side on an older thread on this forum.

Isn't there a guy on these forums that has recently put a diesel based block with an RB head and a GT50 series turbo into an r32 body? FAT GTR or something like that...
