Hey guys,
I just fitted an EBC to my GTS-T and noticed that it was pinging like crazy at only around 10psi or so, which seems awfully low for a stock GTS-T. The only other mods really are air filter and cat-back exhaust. The normal GST-T map should be more likly to R&R at that boost and mods I would think.
However whenever I'm parking or moving real slow I can smell the richness, so it's definitely over rich around idle, but must be way lean when it's loaded up on boost + revs.
After thinking about it a bit I remember when I bought it I noticed the CAS position looks almost fully to the right, like if the nuts were undone and you twisted it almost all the way clockwise. It looked much more "turned" than what I remember the rb25 I had in my 180sx was, which from memory was much more a neutral position. I don't know if this setting is advanced or retarded, I would assume advanced, which I'm thinking could be the cause of this pinging.
My question to you all is, can you tell from visually inspecting a CAS position if it's wrong like that or could it be one of the many other causes IE bad fuel, clogged fuel filter, bad pump etc.
I am planning to get it looked at when I fit a dump pipe, and I've turned the boost back to stock for now, but I just wanted to see if any of you guys agree?
