  1. I'd be keen to buy the rubber strip mine has got the leprosy too... Or is this silicon fix replacing it?
  2. 34 GT-R's with LED tail-lights like those just look flat out amazing. Excellent work figuring that out yourself!
  3. I've recently purchased some Work Emotion CR Kai's in 18 x 9.5 for my series 2 r33. Yay for me. Now, the offsets are +20 and +38. It was always my understanding that on a staggered set the lower offset was meant for the rear. But when I went to put them on the car, I noticed the +38's didn't clear the stock front brake calipers properly, like they were just scraping the edge of the caliper. So I put them on the other way around to how I thought they were supposed to be. They fit sweet this way but the front looks a little more pumped than the rear which is a bit weird. It's +20 on front and +38 rear now, which is odd way around right? Should I have them around the other way ideally? I'm assuming I'd need spacers to fit the +38's on the front. If this is the case, what type of spacers do I need? Where do I get em etc? I've heard the type of spacer you need varies from what wheel type you have? Also, I need new hub rings for the rears, does anyone know what measurements to get for these wheels and where to get em? Repco or something?
  4. Hey all, Got some 17 inch AMG Techart wheels for sale. 17 x 8 +35. I want $700 for these, as they've got basically BRAND NEW Autogrip tyres all around 235/45R17 97WXL. The tyres are so new the writing on the tread still has all it's detail > 1000kms on them. See pics. Also got some Project KICS Racing Composite R40 Wheel Nuts. These have done about 2000km's and were last on a Honda S2000, I got them without actually checking that the thread pitch was what I needed. Stupid me, they don't fit my Skyline. These retail for over $300, I'm looking for $150. Comes with 5 x Lock nuts with special fitting + 15 normal nuts, finished in rainbow titanium colour they look awesome. Wheels Tyres Nuts Nuts #2
  5. Gutted for you man, that's terrible. Sorry for your loss. Will keep in mind for parts I may need since I'm just starting a skyline journey and I'll pass on for others too. All the best selling the parts...
  6. I'm guessing that the poor bird that left this surprise for me had a very near miss with the snorkel on the car at some stage. To be honest I thought that it was a decomposed bird but it was only feathers, no bones so hopefully the little daredevil made it through that chicken (heh) run and lived to tell his buddies about it. I also expected someone to have made a crack about the turbo trying to suck wildlife off the roadside by now... Lol
  7. Hey everyone, I just bought a series 2 r33 gts-t and during my routine first checks of the engine bay I noticed that my skyline has at some point attempted to eat some poor small bird! I guess bird strike can even happen at ground level with cars too... Has anyone else found anything weird like this that a snorkel/airbox combo has swallowed and found later on?
  8. which thread fits the r33 gts-t s2?
  9. r33 s2 rb25 sard 550cc injectors os giken exh cam gear custom s/s high mount manifold turbosmart 44mm progate garrett GT30307R turbo microtech lt12s plazmaman plenum 280rwhp @ 8psi 335rwhp @ 13psi preliminary tune - just getting it running and back on road again, retuned with new TPS and 17-18psi soon.
  10. Does anyone have a part no.?
  11. It's on a forward facing Plazmaman plenum. Would it pointing in a new direction like that affect it? And the wreckers say they have all these different kinds of rb25 TPS's, (4 pin, 3 pin only, or twin plug like mine) and they're confusing the issue too. If it's an auto model thing, why is it on there? I'm sure my half cut was manual.
  12. Would not having both plugs plugged in on the TPS affect it's idle voltages? My TPS won't read lower than 33% throttle on idle no matter how it's adjusted, and i'm wondering if it's because I don't have the 2nd plug connected? Obviously having the car idling on it's 33% throttle map isnt ideal, and taking fuel out so it won't stall has given the car flat spots etc. Is it a faulty TPS or related to not having both plugs on. it's a s2 rb25 btw.
  13. I'm not entirely sure the full set of sensors needed. I've got the wiring diagram book with me that came bundled with the unit and that explains most of it. When they emailed me back for this question they told me to call them on (02) 9808 5233 to further discuss the problem. I've got my friend doing the wiring as it's beyond me. Only the lack of labelling on the Crank Angle Sensor loom and this coil pack issue have him stumped. I will ask him if all those things are necessary and post up here what he says. Thank you for the helpful reply I didn't 'option' any extras like external coil packs when I ordered it. I simply said it's for a Series II rb25det from a 97' Skyline. I assume then that it would be set up for a 'factory style' coil setup?? And if the factory coils use 3 wires, how can those same coils run on only 2 with a Microtech? I'm not trying to dispute you, I'm just trying to make sense of leaving the third wire out. Also, in regards to the +ve wire, does it have to be straight to ignition circuit. I've heard things like have it set on the fuel pump relay circuit. Is there a reason why the coils shouldn't be the equivalent of directly connected to the battery?
  14. Hi everyone. I'm in the process of wiring up an rb25det, so i've just bought a Microtech LT-12s direct from their website. I also have a new Series II wiring loom ready for the plugs (motor is Series II also, just had previous wiring loom and PFC stolen). Now that i'm up to beginning wiring the engine, we've run across a problem; the standard coils that I still have use 3 wires to run them; +ve, -ve and Signal I believe. The LT-12s wiring loom only seems to have the signal wire. I looked on their website and they also sell something called an "X6 Box", which apparently is for 6 coil engines without built in igniters. Since I have a series 2 motor + coils, wouldn't that mean that my coils have the igniter built in? If this is the case, how do I wire up the stock coils with this ECU? Also, for aftermarket alternatives, what are the rough prices i'd be looking at to make it easier. I'd consider aftermarket ones if it's way easier, but I'd rather not have to. Edit: Also tried searching, but couldn't find anything specific to my issue.
  15. thanks mate
  16. Ahh i see. So the only difference between the s1 and s2 is that the igniter part is built into the coil packs themselves? I was under the impression that the ECU's were different.
  17. Since a series 2 rb25det doesnt have an igniter at the back of the rocker covers (i've been told it's in the stock computer), what happens when i try to fit this LT12s i've ordered? Does it do the same job, or do i have to go and get an igniter now?
  18. I think faulty knock sensor/s could be your problem also. I had problems with the ECU winding out timing of both my ca18 and my rb25 in my 180sx. The sensor winds the timing out of the engine, making it feel gutless right through the meat of the powerband. Since you've diagnosed about every sensor and replaced your ECU, i'd say you've done about everything you can do without hitting the dyno and watching what's happening with the engine real time.
  19. Hey there, Need an engine wiring loom for a series 2 rb25det with clips etc. My car was stolen and found and this was taken, so i need to re-wire the engine and get a power fc.
  20. I'm interested too if you've got pictures. When you say you've got the wiring, does this mean its wired with plugs to suit a GTR skyline?
  21. Ok everyone, sorry it’s taken so long to finally compose a follow up, but as I’m sure everyone can appreciate; time moves quick when you’re world gets turned upside down. Before I begin with details, let me first thank everyone that has helped me in any particular way with what has happened. To everyone who offered to keep an eye out for my car, to the people who spotted it after it was taken, those who offered to help with getting my car back together, even down to the people who wish me well with the outcome. You people know who you are, and to you I truly offer my thanks. You people are the reason I join these car forums in the first place, aside from the information you can get here, it’s really nice to know that there are people that don’t know you, but will still help any way they can. Okay. Details… The car as most of you know was taken from the David Jones Car park on Wednesday the 6th at around 3-5pm. I have an idea of the time, because someone on the Skylines Australia passed my car near where it was dumped while I was working at about that time. Obviously I called the Police as soon as I realised the car was missing, and went out that night to make the official report at Southport Police Station. I also spent that night and hours into Thursday morning with heaps of mates driving around looking for it anywhere. The following night at work my friend called me to about the first article I quoted above called “Sports Car Bandits Strike”. Later on, I was contacted by the Police to tell me that they had located my car under some bridges and in the bush off Old Coach Road. They informed me that the body was still in basically one piece, and that the officer thought engine appeared to be mostly untouched, and that the dashboard had been removed. This sounded slightly strange, but I was extremely lucky that the car had not been torched or stripped completely, so I breathed a sigh of relief. The next morning another friend called me to say that my car was pictured found with the stolen Honda Accord and all the loot, and that the Police had spotted the thieves with the cars, and they’d run off into the bush and gotten away. I went and got the paper, and saw the picture of my car in the bush with the bonnet bent all the way back. The Police told me the holding yard would only need the car until Friday, but the holding yard said they couldn’t give me any information, and that they’d call me when the car was ready. I didn’t hear from the holding yard until Tuesday, and they said to collect the car by Wednesday or they’d add holding fees. I got the car back from Wheeldons Holding Yard on Tuesday of last week. This was the first I’d seen of the car since the previous Wednesday when it was taken while I was working. It was in pretty rough shape – I’ll let the pictures do the talking. They used a coat hanger to break into the car, snapped off the key barrel and used a flathead screwdriver to start and use the car with the section behind the key barrel. The driver side lower dash areas are broken, and they stole the Power FC, the Blitz id-iii, and the Blitz turbo timer. They also got the pioneer cd player. What was really strange was that the complete engine wiring loom has been taken, as well as various other things in the engine bay. Luckily we used the ‘flathead method’ to turn the engine over to do a compression check: 175psi across all cylinders, 173 on the last one – thank god. They wrecked the front right quarter panel, and the rear left is dinted and scratched, as well as various other scratches, presumably from heading bush. Bonnet’s ruined from being bent back too. So to where I am now: I now need a 180sx wiring guru to figure out if the damage, if any to the 180sx wiring is bad enough when combined with the body repairs that I’m better off getting a new rolling shell. I’ll just get a new wiring loom and get me and my mates to get that going, but before I decide I need to know if im better off sticking with this car still. Thanks again everyone. Don’t let it happen to you.. -Nick
  22. The article and story is in todays Bulletin; page 5. The car was involved in the smash and grabs on the Gold Coast businesses. I'll do a full write-up with the damage etc once I get the car. The impound is withholding all information regarding to the investigation, and will notify me when they've finished dusting it for prints.
  23. My god... Police just contacted me at work at told me they'd located my vehicle. I'm sorry but at the moment i don't have any real details, but as i understand the engine is still in the car. I will let everyone know as soon as i know.
  24. The David Jones carpark is about the only place its left unattended though. My car lived in a garage in a security complex, and only sorta travelled to the video store left for about 15 mins max in daylight. Or to the shops for a movie, left with a pile of other cars for a couple hours. But other than that i dont drive it more than 2-3 times a week.
