Had A Few Runs.. Not Welcome Back Now .. Lol
PJ. replied to Tomek's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Car sounds awesome dude! Love the 290 one too lol. A set of drag radials and a 1.6 60ft will see you into the high 10's. My boss tuned a R34 that weighed 1650kg, made 360kW at the wheels and ran 11.6 @ 122mph also with a 1.8 60ft time. I have run 134mph with 291kW at the wheels and 137mph with 387kW at the wheels, both on the same dyno, different turbo combinations. Power delivery has a big play in trap speed. -
The car sounded like an absolute animal on the dyno! As discussed though Dave, I think you'll find it will go back to more than just the plates, I told you the way around it! See you Friday night Oh and BTW Friday nights at WSID are for ANDRA licence holders if you don't already have a Super Street licence.

I've driven a couple of twin 2871 setups on both a 2.6L and 3L and was not impressed with the response. Personally if you want to run a T04Z with a twin scroll manifold I'd go a 1.00 if you want a bit more power, particularly with a stroker, 0.84 for mega response if you're a circuit junkie.
-
How big was the engine in it Lithium? Pump fuel? I've been dicked with this Precision turbo I ordered due to a core change, they can't offer me a 0.84 TS T4 so I was thinking a 1.06 but a bit scared, wanted to start small. Should be cruising next Friday Dave, Kyle lent me a T04Z with a 0.70 divided for now, expecting it to be powerful and lazy...

That Sierra EVO is a machine! The Fernandez Turbo Supercar rocked up in the arvo, might hit the track tomorrow by the look of things

They're 0.73 Nismoid, I made 291kW on my 3037S on BP 98 (19psi) and 342kW on a 24-22psi spike on E85. Full boost was around 4500rpm on an SR but you can play with cam timing and get them on sooner. I guess it's not really comparing apples with apples since it's on a 2 litre, but just goes to show what those baby HKS housing are capable of flowing, and they along with the 3076R's are very aggressive. ATP make a 0.78 divided housing for them too, this in my mind with a twin scroll/twin gate setup is the ultimate combo for someone chasing a solid 300kW on pump fuel with mega response. They also come in 0.82 and 1.06. Getting a bit off track but still interesting and I've posted this somewhere else on SAU I'm pretty sure. As an example my two setups on pump fuel, SR20DET, my first one had a T88-34D and made 315kW at the wheels on 21psi, my 3037S made 291kW on 19psi. T88 trapped 125mph, 3037S 134mph. Even when the T88 was making 387kW, it ran 137mph on 29psi and a race tune! Peak power doesn't always mean a faster car, suiting the power to your gearing and a chunky mid range it where it's at.... Hey guys I have for of these up for grabs, as I need to purchase 2200cc's! They retail for between $175-195 each. $125 each + shipping, located in Sydney. Ph: 0430 767 845 PJ

Any major fuel supplier or car company behind E85 can only be a good thing as far as availability goes Even if it is....Caltex. By the way guys, cars do ping on E85, it's just that the sound is not your typical distinctive high pitched rattle that we're used to hearing, rather a very deep thumping noise - far harder to pickup for the untrained ear.
-
Haha I got the BB version so it was a bit dearer than that! Might make that power output with a VE head and massive cams but my aim is to keep / if not better the response and make more up top too. Keep you posted on the next cruise coming up too Dave
-
If that was aimed at me Sarumatix, no mate it is way too big for that. Not sure what you'd need for that power level
-
Lithium, you have to remember that US figures always read higher than ours here. I made over 600hp with my HKS GT3037S on 25psi (SR20DET), I never tried to push it harder because I didn't want to risk blowing it to bits. Also the use of E85 has pushed turbo outputs beyond their ratings. I ordered a Precision 6262S not long ago and am waiting on it to arrive from the states still. Happy days soon, hopefully

Read the rules last night for the drags, it says you are allowed to cut grooves into slicks if you want. Not that I'd bother but yeah, next year the radials will be left in the garage... ET Streets
-
Cheers mate, as happy as I am with the result, the last couple of days I've still been thinking about what I could have done on a set of ET Streets! Next year... But I took it to the track exactly how I drive it on the street, still a huge amount of fun. Still cut up about Bathurst maybe 20 years on? They're the best wins, Paul. You never forget the memory of winning when someone talks smack and then you school them. Love it.
-
Haha that's hilarious. Ahhh dear... Gup asked me at the line whether my car was 4WD...
-
I'm not dirty on Gup or the event, I had a ball, by far the best event I've entered. I just know for next time how I'll play ball And no Paul, didn't get a trophy or $$$, the respect it gained after murdering that many bigger cars all weekend was enough to make me happy, plenty of people showed their appreciation afterwards, it was very rewarding.
-
Cheers Paul. It was a Torana and XY in the final, I lost to the XY so I came 3rd. The rules stated grooved tyres, next time I'll read between the lines as he did, Mickey Thompson ET DRAG slicks never came out with grooves, somehow his ones had them though. He pumped me out of the hole, I was coming back strong but it was too late! Still stoked to make it that far
-
Haha good to hear dude I knew it would do it, never actually had the space to try one that big, plus I was a bit angry that I was sidelined for a few hours on Saturday, that's why it's hard to hear the shift from 3rd to 4th haha. It just sounds like a drop in revs. Didn't use the clutch on that one. Were you in the grand stand?
