  1. I too have a C's shifter, they work awesome but my only complaint is the length of the shifter - it was too short for my liking and it sort of felt like an MR2! I countered this problem by adding a much longer gear knob and now it's wicked.
  2. I went for a massive fang last night (on a track of course) not using the clutch for both up and downshifting and I'm really loving this box now. My mechanics put a much firmer relocating spring in the box so it neutralises a lot harder after I pull out of second. I still use the clutch from first to second though as it seems to clunk a bit otherwise. Can't wait to drag it again now, I'm sure there has to be a tenth or two in the gear changes alone compared to the syncro box. Do they have a hp rating on the helical dog gearsets for a GT-R/GTS-T box?

  4. They are smashing third gear eventually though, it all depends how hard you thrash it. 300rwKw will not be an issue and if you want a cheap way out with the rear end throw in a GT-R diff + larger shafts.

  7. Well I waited 6 weeks to drive my car while I waited for my PPG Helical dog gearset....and I lasted two hours before accidently shifting from 2nd to 1st instead of third. Blew a diff It took about an hour before I wasn't crunching gears, and I didn't use the clutch on a power run from 1st to 4th and it was like a motorbike. It's unreal! Just be careful that you don't go back into third, because unlike a syncro box, nothing really stops it from going in! SPEWING!!! Does anyone have a GTS-4 crown and pinion for sale 4.375??? Help a brother out!
  8. Yeah def a 33 box on the right, we compared it to a 34 box and they were the same!
  9. Ok initially I was told the one on the left was an R34, but the one on the right is an R33 which are supposed to be the same apart from the push/pull clutch system. Inside they are identical, yet the one on the left a few inches longer. I have been told it is a Z31 box can anyone confirm this? Cheers, PJ

  12. M/T make an ET Street (non radial) in 16 x 10.5 which you will get to fit under the guards no problem, as to what offset to use I can't help you
  13. R34 Gtt box with OS Giken Cross mission gearset 1st, 2nd, 3rd. They still use standard syncros though. Should be able to get these clips in by pulling back the syncro hub, and not have to strip the box excluding bellousing etc...
  14. I apologise I probably wasn't clear enough with what I was getting at. Of course you'd have to pull the extension and bellhousing off! What I mean was stripping one of the shafts?
  15. 2 different places that have put them back in without stripping it!
  16. Sure the oil does help, but have you ever dropped the oil out of it to find little broken clips on the inside of the gearbox plug which is magnetic? This is a common occurance with them too. I'm not a mechanic and far from a gearbox genius but this has happened to me twice. If 4th is crunching consistantly, pull the plug off and check whether these syncro clips have broken off. The parts are only worth $25 in total, there are three clips. If the box is out you don't have to strip it to put these clips back in either.

  18. What difference does it make? Most of these cars we can only ever dream of driving let alone owning. How many cars worth over $700k have you owned/driven ctjet?
  19. 959 is cool but to me the F40 is still king. How many cars do you know of with a factory screamer pipe?
  20. Well to me dynos are for tuning, but for the record it made 521hp @ wheels on 29 psi. It has run 132mph making 481 hp. I wanted better response still using a big turbo, and know there are worlds of difference in technology between the HKS and Trust units.
  21. I'm sure this topic has probably been flogged like a dead horse but I am possibly looking change to a T51 from a T88 depending on response. What I'm really asking is, if anyone has had both turbo's, for some input on the difference in response. Basically, is it worth spending the extra $$ on a T51? I'm refering to the BB version. Currently have the T88 on a 2.2L SR20. It starts making boost at 5 and the gate cracks open at 6,000. I know there is a world of difference in technology between the 2 turbo's, and I've thought about changing the exhaust housing on the T88. Your experiences/thoughts?
