In-smegging-credible anyone want to trade a gemy' for a skyline? :PBJ:

I have a similar problem that goes away for a few days everytime I change something, has been very frustrating, the last thing I did was to re-gas the air con, as I was told it could be to do with the dual pressure switch, it worked for a few days, now I have hunting again... but do a bit of a search for hunting, you might find a few ideas

Hey guys, My car was stolen last week, as you may have seen in the post 'My car was stolen last night' and recovered the next day because fortunatley the jerk cant drive, he crashed and only took off with my head unit, sub and amp. The insurance wont pay up, so im left to pick up the bill. The body damage I can fix, I will need a new tyre, but I have finally plucked up enough to go have a look under my car, and the damage isn't as bad as I first thought, but they still have busted the castor rod and bent the lower suspension link - see pic - and while it sounds like a good time to upgrade... my wallet says no. So if you have one of these lying about taking up space that would fit a 32 gts4 and dont mind parting with it for a modest sum, I would really appreciate it if you could drop me a pm I suppose there is never a good time to have this happen, but the timing could not have been worse... I would really just like to have my car running again. Thanks guys, I hope to be seeing you all out and about again soon Dave

That's a more sensible wing? Woof!

Dammit Tim, now I have to learn japanese the mines website is all in ?????'s Shaun is pretty well correct, if you just want to tune your car, let someone else do it, If you want to learn how its done, read all that, play with the software, then let someone else do it I just have too much time on my hands

Well, it looks like its going to go begging, I gotta go, I'll catch you all later

Well after getting it safely locked away I sat down, drank two beers and passed out... I will put up a bit of a damage report later on, but i am off to melbourne tomorrow to see gomez so the car can wait, I dont want to have to think about it right now. Cheers guys

Electric Intake? Is This Just Crap?
Medium Dave replied to dcanna's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I was reading an article on the popular science website where they tested a whole bunch of 'fuel saving' devices and they conluded that the best you can hope for is nothing will happen, one device even set the car on fire most just increased fuel consumption and decreased power. -
It's back home safe, we went through two dodgy car trailers untill I said to Nick 'thats it I am very close to loosing it in spectacular fashion, we are getting a tow truck.' It was found on the back roads over mt stuart, probably on the way to glenorchy and further suburbs where it would have been stripped and I would never see it again... but fourtunatley (I guess) they cant drive (or read/write probably) and hit a curb and broke the castor rod on the passenger side, which sent the tyre into the guard, destroyed the tyre and my side skirt. I was also lucky they didnt find my wallet or take my tools, however they did find the sub and amp in the boot and the face from my head unit. Id like to say a big thank you to everyone today for thier support, especially Todd, gmb, gerard and damo - take up damo on his offer and get an immobiliser if you dont have one, I never want to have to go through another day like today, I dont think anyone would. Goodnight and good luck, Im going to get drunk now.
-
Thanks guys, its been found just now, the front passenger side suspension is f**ked and there is oil coming from somewhere, it looks like they hit a curb then drove it to benjafield ave where its quiet, then nicked my sub, amp and head unit, furtunatley they didnt find my wallet or tools. Well im off to recover her and bring her home, thanks for all tyour support. I just hope for the safety of the people who nicked it the cops find them before I do.

Thanks guys, it was in west hobart, outside my girlfriends place. No immobiliser unfortunatley - was saving up for one...

Hi all, Well i walked out to where my car was parked, and I can honestly say thet nothing prepares you for the moment when you stand gutted on the side of the road, staring at where your car should be, feeing completely lost. I know it wasnt the best skyline on the road, I was taking car of it tho, I have spent so many hours fixing her up... So please can you keep an eye out for my car, its a black r32 gts4 with a primer grey boot and rear passenger side. It has all my work tools in it, and my wallet... and its not insured, they wouldnt insure it till the damage (caused by another asshole who tried to steal the wing) was fixed. If you see it, or know anything please call me on 0400 996522 I will be eternally grateful, thanks Dave

Dont run 1ohm unless its for the occasional spl comp, for street use no less than 4 ohm. 1ohm is ok for a few minutes then you get masses of heatsoak in the amp and cables which reduces power to less than what you would have if you ran 4ohm. To run that many subs it will cost you quite a bit, really you would need 3 amps and some really heavy duty cabling (cables on thier own would run into a few hundred) running all that gear wont even sound twice as loud as a single sub and amp... up to you

I think there ia a tutorial, mabey sticky about the coilpacks cracking due to heat, check it out Here tis' http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=32356

Start with the search button, this has been covered quite a bit, so there should be a fair bit of info to get you going

I have an in cabin switch for rwd, but I rarely drift it, the damage happened before I bought it, some kids tried to nick the spoiler and damaged the paint, stabbed the seats and took the head unit... little bastards, but I got it cheap, so thats ok, bit of a work in progress - I just say its drift damage because its easier than saying all that anyhow, here are a few pics of the car a friend of mine took, he is pretty handy with the lens - the first one was taken while I was doing nuts' with him standing 1m away from the front of the car... http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i263/med...ve/DSC_1598.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i263/med...ve/DSC_1614.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i263/med...ve/DSC_1571.jpg - Im' not usually a poser, but Owen insisted, I got him to take a few shots without me in them but he didnt give me those, ah well.
-
Nah, I missed the drift meet, was at a 1st birthday party- a friends daughter, my car is black and primer grey and bog pink... well drift cars wear scars eh' I saw some pic's tho, sorry I missed it

I dont know about the encryption, but I think you can use a consult cable to take a dump from the ecu... I might have to do a bit of reaserch into it, when I figure it out I will give you a hoy Todd, I have been talking to a guy from my work, Mark - gets around on the boostcruising forums, he has told me a bit about your car
-
Well I was after a project to occuopy my mind for a bit, so I decided to try and tune the standard ecu, and after a lot of reaserch I invested in the gear (thanks ebay) and tonight I have done it. I removed the speed cut and played with the afr's a little - and programmed a chip. at first I thought I flamingo'ed up (a big cock up) the car went into limp home mode... smeg. I tell you there is no better motivation to fix a car than when you kill the thing yourself, so I went back over my work, re programmed a few chips with no luck, then I installed a slightly different piece of eprom programming software and hey presto she Runs! It feels like it boosts a little quicker and goes just a bit harder, but that could be my imagination, I really didnt change that much... In addition to being able to remap the afr's I can remove the speed limiter, raise the rev limit, change injectors, change afm! Woot! Challenge nil, my brain 1 Sorry to blow my own trumpet, but those who know me know that I can get a little excited Anyhow the 32 will be off to the dyno soon with a few different tunes in hand to see what it will do! Dyno sheets to follow!... as soon as I have the spare cash of course - Im as poor as an after school special
-
Do a search for 'hunting' - reasonably common problem, I have had it - turns out it was to do with the air conditioning, but not before I cleaned the afm, aac valve, throttle body, changed the tps, o2 sensor... there are several topics and a few tutorials on the subject, so search away, and good luck

Rb20 Better Than Rb25 Or 26?
Medium Dave replied to rory_kieran's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hmm, were you intending to start a catfight? Which car is faster at the drags depends mostly on the size of your wallet. Which car is faster in the twisty mountain passes depends on driver skill. I have spent less all up on my 32 gts4 (inc. purchase price) thank my friend has spent modifying his 33 gtr and I still keep up with him in the twisties... Im not saying im brock jr, he just loves getting the thing out of shape, does'nt care for balance.
