  1. the lights will only start moving when the car has warmed up - if you have been patient then did you check the wiring on the car itself, if thats ok it could be that the sensor is not picking up the af mix correctly, this also happens when the o2 sensor is placed to far down the exhaust to pick up the subtle changes. Edit - also, I think there might be two different types of narrow band o2 sensor... pls correct if wrong. Oh and to all the disbelievers - they have two uses, mine has a high load lean out alarm, plus when im driving I can delude myself into thinking that I am driving efficiently
  2. Hmm, yeah most guys here would put down 'all the time... personally I try to do as much as I can myself, do the reaserch and you cant go wrong
  3. Put me down for one. This guy is crazy, this is the most insanley brilliant way of throwing away large sums of money. I hope it all comes together for him
  4. 10 out of 10 for style, but minus 4 million for good thinking
  5. Hmm, I wonder how difficult it would be to use the factory drop down spoiler motor to drop a panel infront of the plate, you would only need to obscure part of the number so its difficult to tell what it is... covers up the plate above 80 then disappears when you pull up... ah mischef
  6. take the front edge one side at a time and pull up, they are quite difficult so you need to give them a bit of a yank
  7. Heya, I have been using mine for work and general running about, totals about 350km per week, been a good car when I keep it serviced. But I have been thinking of buying a rolla' as a work car and keeping the skyine for weekends - done the maths and it should work out cheaper Oh' its a R32 GTS4...
  8. Actually, you have got me thinking... hmm...
  9. Yeah, the afr meter is spot on, I might check the fuel pressure tho, thanks guys - still confused as to why it stops hunting if i turn the ac on then off... ah well, I'll get there
  10. Check out the tutorial page, there is a great step by step in there http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=111401
  11. Hey all, I have been having hunting problems for a while and I have searched and done all the things geneally listed- aac valve, afm, grounding etc. Now when it hunts it will raise the revs slowly to 1500rpm, then stay there, if I turn on the air conditioning it will raise again to 2000rpm then slowly drop back to a normal idle for the rest of the trip I have installed an afr meter and the mixtures stay within stoich, so its not dumping in extra fuel... Oh, this may sound silly now I think about it, but I havnt re-gassed the aircon, it was ok for the first 4-5 months without... I know, I know... but ac is useless in a tassie winter If its possible that that is the problem, or if you can think of anything else to look into, your ides would be greatly appreciated
  12. Looks great, out of interest, how much did you lower it? thinking of dropping mine a bit, looks like a rollerskate
  13. There is a built in ~180kmh speed limiter in the standard ecu, mine cuts in at about 190
  14. Damn adam, looks like you're having a bit of a lash, makes me more dissappointed I couldnt get there Nice shots tho, I'd be pretty happy with that
  15. I have seen all kinds of things down in tas, people driving the wrong way up 1 way streets, wandering between lanes, driving over curbs/islands, not following lane markings... makes me wonder how some people are still alive.
  16. A car isnt just transport, its freedom.
  17. Got cabbage?
  18. Ah, yeah, by head I mean inlet manifold Hmm, interesting stuff tho, but considering I live in tas.... I might leave it alone, thanks guys for the info
  19. I thought it might be for emissions, but for a cold start up I thought the thermostat restricted water flowing untill the engine was warm anyway? So could I use a brass T' piece to divert the flow from the head?... -Might have to try that in summer, its still too cold in Tas (sympathy please )
  20. Im sure there must be a reasonable explanation, but why is it that my stock manifold has a water feed. My old alfa had a heated intake for fuel economy, but we go to lengths to cool the intake charge then have it heated by the plenum?
  21. There is a hole in the firewall in the top corner blanked off with foam- comes out at the top of the pedals, run your cable through there, under the carpet, under the back seat - takes a bit of force to pull the bottom edge straight up, then I mounted my amp on the metal panel of the seat back, you wont need really long screws - its only the thread that is in the metal which holds it there, bit of a be-ach to mount there, you may end up upside down in the boot trying Make sure to earth everything to a solid point and you shouldnt have any issues. Have fun! Edit - In terms of wiring, go to jaycar and they will be able to tell you what guage wiring to use and will be able to sell you all the bits, as a rough guide, anything over about 150rms I would use 4 guage cable to the boot
  22. Although mine is a 32 rb20det my car came with a trust exhaust from cat back, two mufflers and it is nice and quiet on the street and when I open it up it sounds fantastic Couldnt tell you about the actual difference from stock, but I would guess it would have to be better...
  23. Yeah, it was too much shaft play, I could move it enough to touch the exhaust side but I wasnt able to make it touch the inlet, hmm it seems it was on a bit of a self distruct mission So what happens when a turbo gets a 'high flow' job?
  24. They used to sell one at jaycar when I worked there, not sure if they still do, but they were only about $50'ish... give 'em a call
  25. Cheers, I will leave it alone then
