  1. Here's an idea Andru - do what I do when my dad gives me the 'usual lecture' (his words ) Just smile and knod, smile and knod.... then go buy the premo when he's not looking. Sounds like your dad is just trying in his own way to look after you, and that makes him a good guy in my book.
  2. Cool, thanks for your input guys, wish me luck
  3. Thanks Alex, I have fixed a few autocad installations, nothing noteworthy tho' - is there something im missing?
  4. Hi Everyone, I am thinking about a change of job, Im a bit tired of being taken for granted at my current workplace (whom shall remain nameless for the moment) working as a field technician - I am good at what I do and I always have good feedback, but I keep getting sent to jammed printers and delivery jobs, its getting a little frustrating... Anyhow, I am great on a helpdesk, good with people and I have great fault finding skills, so if your workplace is in need of an IT tech' I would appreciate the head's up about where you are and who to talk to so I can be Johnny on the spot with my resume Please feel free to pm me here Thanks muchly, Dave
  5. Only 16 more sleeps to go
  6. My girl is great, she will tell people that she has accepted that my car comes first and she comes seccond Your 33 looks great, very tidy - Black is definatley the way to go
  7. Nice one, much appreciated
  8. Hey guys, quick question - I am considering getting my ecu tuned up (reasonably stock'ish engine wise), but will running it leaner in the top end - from afr's of about 10-11:1 under load to the mid/low 12:1 do any long term damage? I only give it the occasional bit of stick, but I dont want to be replacing another engine any time soon, thanks muchly
  9. Volts v amps - Voltage may be ok but does not have enough current.
  10. Thanks Tony, I still have a few things I would like to tidy up with it, but its getting there - what you dont see is the other side of the car and the body filler... some kids broke into it b4 I bought it and did a bit of damage, but its a labour of love
  11. LOL, here is another - im not a natural poser, no really http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i263/med...ve/DSC_1614.jpg I would like to find some standard rims, but these have some reasonably good rubber on them. A friend of mine owns a 33gtr and he said I can borrow his rims to take some pics sometime, should look the goods.
  12. This is what a friend of mine from work put together after we went out to take a few action shots on saturday (closed road), he took some great pics, but this one is the money shot

I have only seen it recently too, but I wonder how much of the story is lost in the translation to english? is it dummed down for the american audience - just look at crouching tiger, I remember one scene where they sat down for tea and explained what you should have figured out so far, it was at thet point I had to stop watching and go find a copy with the propper subtitles...
  14. From what I understand, yes. In closed loop mode the ecu quickly enrichens and leans the fuel mix around 'stoich' which gives that kind of readout. It jumps around quite quickly because the sensor is not reading on a 'linear scale - easier to explain with pictures I am just learning about all this kind of stuff - so please correct me if im wrong
  15. Sounds like it will be a good day, count me and my dirty 32 in
  16. I use silicone oil, its used for servicing printers, it brings up faded plastics like new, I have put some on the dasboard about a month ago, but its not going to see any heat for a few months in Tas so I couldnt tell you if it cracks like armorall, works a treat on plastics tho.
  17. Mine does the same, I just assummed it was my keys tapping, its rather irregular and I have a metal keyring... I might try holding onto my keys next time I hear it - and keep watching this thread
  18. Go to www.carfiche.com and download the r32 gtr manual, the gts4 is the same - it will show you how to use 2 flat blade screwdrivers to lever the driveshaft out, plus the manual is invaluable cheers
  19. Mmm, I got a caution when I was doing 80 in a 60 - at the bottom of a hill, I flashed the old puppy dog eyes and the cop (female...) reduced the speed to 70 and gave me a caution I did learn my lesson tho.
  20. You can boot from a flash drive, there is a bit of software I cant remember the name, but I can dig it out tomorrow - it will format the drive ready for you to install windows to it. You need at least 2 gig to install xp, although i guess you could get away with less if you used win2000 or linux or something. Oh, and you need a motherboard which will allow booting from the usb, if you look in the bios > boot order you will be able to see if it supports that
  21. Do a bit of a search for hunting issues, I guess that will probably cover most of what you need to know, I have been having these issues for ages, every time I changed something it would stop, then be back the next day - Its because the climate control ac is the problem! I would switch it off to test, then flick it on the next day! oh I laughed so hard when I figured that out lesson one, change only one thing at a time...
  22. As far as I am aware the two gearboxes are the same except for the input shaft, ie same strength... This is part of an email I recieved from daniel at fitzpatric speedworks: If manual the gearbox will take it no probs they are basically the exact same as a gtr except the input shaft size and this isnt where the weakness is, but a gts4 box will be fine for 250rwkw as long as you respect it and dont flat change or violently drop the clutch etc Hope this helps
  23. Nice work parish, looks like a factory option - see how many people you can bs A quick word on the hdd, I am a computer tech (please dont hold it against me) and have seen plenty of those external hdd's give up because of the movement, they were really only designed to sit on a bench - I havnt found the pic of the way you have mounted it, but I would reccommend lots of shock absorbtion - if you havnt already. Anyhow, good work, you have done spectacularly well!
  24. Mine popped out once, I cleaned the oil off the rubber stopper and inside the top of the tube with a bit of rag, hasnt popped out since. I will have my fingers crossed its that simple for you too
