fibreglass bonnet legal....... please explain ??????

Hmmm transport department dont seem to wanna come to the party.. we tried so hard. sent test samples away, but because carbon and fibreglass both fracture with sharp edges its impossible to get ADR approval. so i guess just leave the ally bonnet on for daily use and put the carbon on show or on some events.. damn shame though, cools my engine bay so much, just gotta finish off the airbox and get some pipes made so i can get rid of my AFM's

best advice anyone could give you.... i daily drive my GTR, jim berry built mine.. it is a single plate button with a carbonics plate.. bites HARD. and considering he built it cheaper than what a stock replacement costs... can't go wrong

SPOTTED........... 510 GTR (FRANKY) on beams rd this arvo then 5 minutes later parked outside my house.... lookin good with the new rims mate...

the lip is $880 Inc GST they come clear 2-pak'd with UV stable 2pak and bolt straight up.. bonnet hmmm something like that would be around $3500 Inc GST and yes its 100% carbon fibre NO fibreglass also comes clear 2pak'd with UV stable 2pak and bolts straight up perfect.

series 2's have the brake ducts too.... just the lip is not as agressive.. glad i dont have one as my driveway has worn the bottom off the series 2 one anyway. series 3 one i wouldn't be able to get in my driveway at all.

carbon is big squares because i wanted something that would draw attention, you will not see another bonnet like it, unless i make another one for someone else ha ha.. yes can do carbon in a smaller weave.. i think your after the standard 3k carbon twill personally i think its boring because everyone has it.. i like to be different.. series 2 with series 3 headlights...

what do you mean the weaving is different? same material was used on the bonnet,bootlid and lower lip.

oh yeah i took that off.. will be back on for auto salon in a few weeks...

Yeah thats because i'm designing it... now i got all my other carbon stuff done i can start working on it... the airbox will be made in the front right hand side and mine will be open top and seal against my carbon bonnet.. will also be ceremic coated same thing we do to all of our V8 race stuff... helps keep the heat out too.. will post pics as i go along.. i do all my own carbon fibre work mate, as i'm a qualified composite technician.. if you need stuff anything done just give Custom Carbon a call.. details are in my sig

ha ha yeah good seeing you out there... was funny seeing the 3 promo girls up on the bonnet... 1 promo girl standing up in the middle of the vent... shows how strong carbon really is. still gotta do the airbox as promised to a few other SA members... pics will be up when its done, sorry its taken so long..

just an update of some pics from the weekend.. got some new carbon goodies on her now... custom bonnet, lower lip and wing blade in 12k carbon fibre let me know what you think....

i will be there both days..... my car will be in the Haltech stand for the weekend... with all the carbon goodies on her.

PM's replied to oh yeah just waiting on some other carbon to get here from france.... to match the bonnet and lower lip n stuff.. sold the other bootlid. that pic shows how fat the GTR ass is... i love it there's a few carbon goodies on her now, if your going to jamboree check it out, it will be in the Haltech stand on show.
