Hi Everyone, I have just got a new new job that requires me to move to Mackay, Qld and I would like to know if there is any good hi performance workshops in Mackay that I could trust to work on my RB25DET S13 or would it be best just to get the work done by someone back in Brisbane. I need someone who really knows what they're doing as I have a full performance rebuild in mind for car (chasing 300+ rwkw). Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you
  2. do you still have the gearbox, if so how much and what condition is it in. ie: gears have no trouble engageing and no noises. thanks
  3. Hi everyone, inthe apst i have asked for assistance with my vehicle and have been blown away with the amount of help. Thank you. I have now got another question. At the moment I am looking at upgrading my ECU but I want to steer away from the units that use AFMs. I have had a look at quite a few different units but they all cost about $1800. But I have found that Apexi have made a Power FC unit that uses a map sensor instead of the afm, and this unit can be obtained from nengun.com for just over $1000 delivered. But the problem being is that it is listed for the rb26 not the rb25. Can anyone please tell me if the rb26 units can be used on the rb25. I have tried ringing Apexi over in the states and all i got was an answering machine, which I left a message on (with ph number and email address.), over a week ago and haven't heard back from them. So can some one please help me, thanks everyone.
  4. Thank you everyone for your help in this matter. MR331307 on the bottom of your reply it says about a 591hp r33. Is this your vehicle and if so what have you done to the engine to obatin this kind of power as it is the target power area that I'm tring to get too. About 600hp out of a rb25det in a s13 silvia should make for a very fun car. Once again thanks everyone.
  5. what replacement ecus for the rb25det don't use the afm. i have heard of some people talking about ecus that use a map sensor. i am trying to twin turbo my rb25det. i am going this way as i already have 2 good rb20det turbos sitting at home. if i went for a large single i would have to change the ecu anyway. so i figured running the twin rb20dets which i already have would save me the $1000 or so i would have to pay for the large single. can any body help me with any ideas on this matter. thank you
  6. Hi Everyone, Can anyone tell me if an exhaust manifold of a RB26DET would be a straight bolt on a RB25DET. As I have found a great turbo kit which i would like to run on my RB25DET but it comes with a RB26DET topmount manifold. Thanks

  10. Thank you to all who have helped with this problem. It was the AFM that was playing up. I borrowed a friends unit and it solved the problem. So once again thank you for help.

  12. It has been in the car for about over a year now and it has not had a problem up until now.
  13. it doesn't matter whether the accelerater is going down or going up. The bov is still stock. it mainly happens while i am just cruising along. it has also happened when i have gone to take off sedately. but if the revs are kept up it doesn't happen. it has also happened while the engine was idling. there was no splattering or anything. it just stopped.
  14. The engine just dies. you hear the engine purring along happily then the engine just cuts out and goes quiet. like if you turned the key off.
  15. Just normal driving. when it is kept in higher rpm it doesn't do it. it is running stock ecu. how can the code be pulled of it if there is no leds on the ecu. thanks for your reply
  16. Hi, I have a S13 Silvia with a RB25det in it. While I am driving the engine will shut down then restart. but if i put my foot on the clutch it won't restart unitll i turn key or kick start it by releasing the clutch. I have changed the crank angle sensor and still does the problem. I unfortunatley cannot check faulty leds on ecu as it has no led and the engine light on dash isn't connected. Can someone please help me with this problem. Thank you
