I just got a pm from admin saying "this is a warning for naming a company in a negative light." can i ask what the point of the forum is. if this company is a sponsor then maybe the admins need to look at their sponsors more closely. if this thread is deleted and modified and edited to filter out negativity how can fellow skyline owners know which companies are worthwhile. for anyone wanting the names othe companies please pm me. if this is also deleted i have lost faith in this forum and will be reluctantly taking my views and donations elsewhere.

I have another post on here about this. if it has had a rebuild: -make sure it has all legitimiate reciepts -if anything doesnt look right it usually isnt -if your going to import it... seriously fly to japan if you have to, to check it out, $2k on that is better than not getting everything you paid for. i would look for one with least mods but the best kept history. the only way to garuantee everything is ok... get one here and from a dealer, then get a warranty. most problems arise sooner rather than later. if you do import it, i would get a cheaper one and witht he saved money put it aside for the reuild, if you expect the worst and do your homework then you will be much happier.

Just remembered this site after i recently bought another skyline, this time thankfully i have learnt the hard way and am much wiser to the car and what im looking at... To start off whoever the owner is now, this is heads up for other buyers and owners not at you or the companies involved. I am sure the car would be fixed and sorted by now if not soon,but anyways... The car was bought through an import company (1 guess as i said no names thus far) in japan by the owner before me. the story i got from him at time of sale was, " it has just had new turboes, service and all these extras, here are all the reciepts." looked over them, took it for a drive. checked the reciepts again everything added up, ran nice and was a good price (enough for something to go wrong and fix it). When i got it home i then found the long story of the car. When imported it was purchased with full hks kit, including hks turboes, computer, tien suspension, exhaust, bee-r limiter and bov, and more. once it arrived in australia all hks fittings where stripped, the car delivered and the owner left with having already bought a car without anything it was listed as having, a rough engine, thrashed gearbox and stock secondhand turboes. It was then a big drama to recover the parts and money, so he took it to a "nameless" but recognised mechanic in perth (which i also trusted) who dodgied the car up so he could sell it. he also acquired dodgy reciepts (made himself in some instances) and compression,mechanic report (also his i feel). i then realised omething not right after a weekend of driving. changed the turboes and looked at getting everything re-tested. it was then given another full check. this mechaic pointed out all the faults of the last mechanic and all overlooked parts of their report and another compression test. all of the now purchased mods are of no use. i am now saving for a new engine just in case fearing the worst. then not long afer the new turboes the engine goes. runs rough, heaps of smoke from exhaust, and no turbo pressure. again after just being told from this mechanic the engine is not the best i call them. tell them the symptoms and he tells me the engines gone, so i start looking. the mechanic comes and inspects the car and then tells me again, yep its gone needs new engine. call the trusted mechanic, agrees yep engines gone we can pull it apart for a quote. not wanting the drama of this and looking at $10k to fix properly i sell it to the mechanic who told me the engine was gone. having to move back to other side of the country im forced to leave some of my personal effects with the mechanic. at a later date i return to the mechanic to retrieve the personal belongings and ask about how the "project" is coming to the reply " oh we are selling it"... me" oh really why is that" they"we fixed it" me"really that was a fast rebuild" they "oh it didnt need a rebuild, just the turbo harnesses and pipes came off, and 2 plugs were fouled giving the impression of a shot piston" me" oh so how much work was that to fix" they "maybe 2 hours" - so 2 hours at $150 and hour im thinking of getting it back off them. me "so how much are you selling it for?" they "$17,000, but you can bu it for $16,000 if you want it" WTF, then this car was advertised as a nismo special by this mechanic. So this huge rant is a huge heads up to people from perth who are dealing with these dodgy mechanics, they do not know shit and will rip you off. Be careful who you are dealing with and always get at as many opinions and inspections as you can until satisfied that you have an answer. I had good experiences with them until this effort. in teh end i spent $24k on the car sold it for $12.5k. this is a debt i am repaying now until 2012 so a mechanic could make a quick buck. Be careful who you deal with, make sure you know everything about it LEGITIMATE history, and only ever deal with a trusted mechanic. never ever tell a mechanic your plans for the car, all they see are the $$ signs. ***EDITED*** Car: Grey 89 GTR number 320. as i said i was looking for support mods at present. didnt think it would make much difference considering the power i want. then again a fuel rail is pretty pointless as well considering nismo injectors fit standard rail with no modification (or as far as i was aware). other than the pfc, cams where the next main thing. any suggestions? also other bits needed...

As title says not to sure about whether this is really needed. currently looking at setting up the car with required support mods before i do the next step... car already has high flow cat, pods, 3.1/2exhaust and split dump. currently looking at: z32 afm pfc fuel rail 600-700cc injectors (not sure which i need) oil pump fuel pump then thinking plenum and/ or cam kit next step will be the turboes and internals... what else is required?? any suggestions and rough power gains...

think i may have found roughly what i want.... what do you guys think of these mods, mainly support mods.... z32 afm nismo fuel rail nismo 600cc injectors nismo plenum nismo fuel pump nismo oil pump pfc what else would be necessary?? next stage will be turboes still deciding on garretts or hks.... anything else. what sort of power would this support.... p.s i like nismo...

i will give you 1,000 for one if still available... thats the price i got quoted just dont want to wait for postage. i am in perth

whats the point of the forum then???? thought it would be here to give some direction and let others learn from mistakes of fellow users. not just get paid to only give good reputations to dodgy operators. fair enough. have searched as much as i can on here. anyone want to shed some light on local shops and real experiences with them please pm then.... still not sure which way to steer for stage 1!!

considering this i would prefer the opinions of customers.... i am new to perth and hence would like some direction. I really would like some opinions of mods and recommendations still for shops. its ok i am a big boy i can decifer it all.... no point going to a shop that cant tune my stuff or supply the parts required... but thanks for the replies thus far...

umm yeah the dodgy kind... got an oil leak in driver side in front of wheel well. all pools under the intercooler hose. bit strange. and sounds like a leak in the exhaust before the turbo. makes a whistle when cold when on boost. but only on low boost not high... so yeah i am getting it fully looked over before i get stuck right into it... still would like some good advice so far as reputtable tuners and what ecu most use over here. (only going to be as good as its tuner really). also what power would i get before i need injectors, rail and pump... this is first stage then in 3 months getting the hks-ss or garretts... really chasing some nice power gains from her. going to be abit of a thrash around. if i need rebuild im not fussed then i have an excuse for jun or hks stroker... muhahahaha!!! pretty sure it is standard internals. however stranger things have happened.. (mate imported a gtr stock, got here with hks turboes and fully worked stroker engine) bah i want one!!! or maybe he lied about how much he paid <_<

Got the loan secured. yeay for me!!! purchased a bit of a lemon GTR in Perth but resonable price. Just now got my second loan approved for the upgrades as there are quite a few things missing. Car originally had HKS turboes, decent POD fliter, CAMS, ECU, and a few other goodies. All of which where stripped... so now to replace them all and get this rough running biatch cleaned up... ANY IDEAS???? got approved for 7,000 plus my bike so technically have 10-12ish... looking for a good setup and definately a carbon bonnet, this one is all scratched. all other cash is for engine mods. am definately under the impression it has had internals changed as i have driven other gtr's and apart from the rough run (suspect ecu) goes pretty hard. Car presently has exhaust and cat, blow-off valces and intercooler. abs removed and hks boost controller. thanks guys hope to see you all at some meets....

interested. just got the car though and need insurance. will pm you when i get the cash together. should be soonish. but dont hang onto them just for me...
