put me down for front and rear slotted for r33 please.

i rang up and told them yeah i have an intercooler and an ecu they say fine as long as its road worthy and legal. i think they should be the ones to find out whats road worthy and legal not me they are the ones insuring the car. dont they need to know if there insuring unroad worthy cars? the answer is they dont give a shit coz they arnt paying if its not road worthy. its all about money. if they tell you no sorry thats illegal we cant insure you then thats another $1000+ thay dont get. but if they dont tell you its illegal they get your premium and then deny you when do make a claim. i told them what i have on my car they said yes ok, but if it does turn out to be illegal then no sorry were not paying. thats how they should word it, to make it 100% clear. not 'oh yeah sure thats fine as long as its road worthy' the answer should be 'oh yeah fine are you sure thats roadworthy?' but hey like i said its all about money if they did that they people would thionk twice about moding cars and then there would be no market for just cars and the like.

out of everyone thats posted on here who can say they are insured in the case of an accident where they are at fault? thats my question. i know im not and im going to do something about it, get it engineered.

what about about third party fire and theft? if you are driving a car that has been moified and would be denied in a claim anyway why bother with comprehensive? they are going to pay for the car you hit anyway,. if its burned or stolen your covered then to. and i dont think it matters how cautious you drive shit happens, i dont think anyone plans on having an accident thats why there called accidents. what if your in a multi car pile up. if the car infront of you slams into the car in front of it with out braking theres a fair chance you might also hit it. or even if you dont the car behind you might push you into it. or what about oil on the road or some freak thing like that? or your brakes fail or something? MY mates car just had the master cylinder fixed. the first time he braked it didnt do anything he had to then release and brake again. or what if a kid runs out onto the road and you swerve to miss him and hit a parked car or tree or something. doesnt matter how cautious you are accidents can still happen i think i'll just go with msnismos advice and get it engineered. thats the best advice ive heard. why take the risk of not being covered.

hey guys getting wolf 3d put in at the moment so i thought i would ring just cars and let them know that i now have an ecu. I asked them to explain to me how the unlimited mods thing works. Its full of shit your car has still got to be road worthy. So it isnt really unlimited, its limited to what ever vic roads say is ok and whats not. i know plenty of people have got pod filters and intercoolers dont they? if you crash today theres a chance your claim will be knocked back. and im pretty sure any ecu is illegal and i know heaps of us have those, so are you really insured? were paying $1000+ for insurance that is void if we modify are cars too much. is it worth paying for full comp insurance? or should we just get 3rd party because the way my car is at the moment its not covered anyway. whats your thoughts or experiences with insurance mobs?

id be finding out what sort of computer hes got. it says power chipped. im not sure what power chips there are for skylines and if they do much. that turbo timer is not an electrnic tuning system i just looked it up. what boost is he running? hes got a t04 turbo which means he obviously out boosted the stock one or blew it up. no real ecu from what you have wrote down. most of the stuff listed there are asthestics, things for looks not performance. what are you really looking to buy a car that looks nice and gets attention or one thats quick? what ever you do get it checked out by a performance mechanic that works on these cars all the time. they will tell you if its any good or not. theres alot of skylines that are done up cheaply. bleed valve boost controllers with no intercoolers will get you more power but for how long? i researched on here for a month about bits and pieces before i bought my car (which is why im telling you this, because ive been in your shoes) but hey im no expert on these cars some people might disagree with what im telling you. but hey this is what my mechanic tells me. oh and with a budget of $30k you could get something nicer than a 33. or buy this car and if its f**ked you can always get it rebuilt with that kind of doe and make it off its head! just my two cents.

ok guys ive been searching and people know where the vacumn hose goes but i have no idea which hose to tap into with out a picture. does anyone have one please! ive installed the new hybrid kit just need to connect the vacumn hose that comes with it. there are too many hoses to choose from and i have no idea what any of them are for. does someone have a picture that clearly shows what hose i need to tee into. thanks.

hey guys those that are recommending sabbadin, do you guys actually have wolfs tuned by him? got my exhaust done there and was very happy with it. no doubt he does quality work but is he a good wolf tuner? or are you guys assuming he is good because he is with everything else?

yeah that was me. left the spacers on how embarrasing i put them in friday night in the dark. lucky someone told me though, it would have come off otherwise. what were you driving dezz met so many people cant remember any names.

this was my first ever sau event, had a great time thanks to organisers. definatley getting a locked diff before the next one though. think a lot of people were struggling with open diffs. even the instructors were struggling with getting 33's with stock diffs going. great day though, be good if it wasnt so far away. thanks again.

hi guys want a tacho for d4d this saturday. mine doesnt work. what are the rules about mounting them? my friend had one on a vl on the dash but had to move it an inch accross to get a rwc. ive read on here that you cant have anything above the stock instrument cluster. whats the go? thanks jason

wouldnt go with racv. i got one a few months ago. cant find it at the moment or id post up what was in it. Really obvious things like non standard wheels non standard exhaust, strut brace etc. its got a massive chunk out of the side skirt so that was obvious damage that they put in the report. I asked about compression tests they said yeah checked out fine but they dont have any results on the report. said nothing about turbo gear box or engine. the only helpful information that was on there was that my rear rotors are only 1mm above the required thickness and that they need to be change next time i change my pads. i have a chrome gear knob they also put that down as non standard, idiots. basically told me everything i already knew and nothing that i wanted to know. thats just my experience anyway

have you got a strut brace accross your parcel shelf? just lowered my car today so i know what your talking bout but i didnt think you could put a strut brace accross the actual strut towers. ive got a gtr one in the boot behind the little carpet wall thingy. thought that was the only spot for a rear strut brace.

just checking gee wizz just a question! i know a girl who stepped in a pot hole on a foot path and broke her ankle and got 12 grand from the council for there poorly maintained foot path. but you cant get anything for damage to your car for a poorly maintained road? And for those of you saying i should be sued for daqmage to their driveway and that i should learn how to drive, im not an idiot i mount it on an angle. why is the legal height 100mm? is it to protect the roads, speed bumps and driveways? or is it to prevent damage to your car? if vic roads build roads and streets and have a rule of 100mm and i stick to that rule and their road damages my car i should get compensated. im not saying i will and i know ive got no hope getting it. but i thought fellow car enthusiasts would agree. makes sense to me. obviously im careful not to damage my car but hey shit happens and when it does its because of crappy roads streets and driveways.

thanks for the reply but thats what i have done i know its on the circuit marked electrics (refer to attachment from original post) so i know what circuit it is but dont know whats on this circuit. its marked electrics but my windows and mirrors still work when i pull it out. only thing that doesnt work is my radio and clock, that i can find anyway. if someone with the same car as me can pull out the electrics fuse and find something on this circuit other than the radio and clock that would help.
