  2. Hi im wondering if u guys who r running a Power FC could advise on which type of boost controller would best suit it? Can I use it along with a manual type valve like a Turbotech or would it have to be an electronic type like the AVCR? There seems to be a huge difference in price between these types of valves so I would just like to know which would work best with it and why. Obviously the EBC type would allow adjustment from the cabin but what other advantages does it have and is it worth the money? I would also like to find out if the Commander unit can double as a boost gauge amongst the other info it reads? On the Apexi Power FC specs http://www.apexi-usa.com/product_electroni...d=197&pageNum=1 it mentions that the Commander can display up to 10 parameters of data in real time. Boost is one of them so I assume that this means it basically reads current boost pressure. Reason im askin is I need to get a boost gauge as the stock one in the car is inaccurate but if the Commander doubles as one I could save myself the trouble. Im still fairly new to the aftermarket ECU scene and am trying to find out as much as I can about it before I get one so any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

  4. So the Dragers been superseded by the HKS High Power then? Do u know if they r a similar exhaust? Also been looking into the Blitz NUR Spec R. Anyone here got either of these n can gimme some feedback on these catbacks in terms of performance n notes? Cheers.

  6. Is the HKS Super Drager 2 in SS available? Any idea of dB rating? Anyone here got this set up with split dump n Hi-flow cat that can tell me wot its flow n exhaust note is like? Cheers
  7. Hmmm... checked out their site, doesnt seem to be there. Know of anywhere else i can see one of these twin tip mufflers? Anyone know wot the notes like on this muffler? Does x-force system also need a resonator/mid muffler? Looking at puttin this on a R34 GT-T with Batml split dump n CATCO 3" metal cat.
  8. Interesting topic, been following it from the start as i too am after an exhaust. Looking at gettin a BATML split dump, CATCO metal cat n cat back(not sure which one yet). I'd like a muffler with twin tip(preferably one that kinks up at the tip) or even a twin pipe system but dunno if that'll fit into the 3" cat flange and finding a twin tip muffler or twin pipe is next to impossible. Anyone know where to get one of these? Also does anyone know of any sites where u can hear exhaust notes with different exhaust systems?
  9. Has anyone here installed one of the Hybrid GT kits or the GK Tech kits on a R34 GT-T? I'd imagine that a hole will also have to be cut on the chassis for the piping & some front bar trimmed but would the fan blades need to be trimmed as well like they would on a R33? Which is the more suitable size, 600x300x76? And is it the tube and fin thats more suitable for street cars(ie. short burst of power runs)? Sorry not trying to hijack the thread, just thought others incl. myself would be interested in the outcome of not using std piping for a FMIC kit on a R34. Cheers!!

  11. My RB25 on my 34 runs up to 80kPa(~12psi) boost. Only power mods is a pod, everything else is factory std. Im a lil surprised too, either my stock boost gauge is out(altho i didnt think it'd be out by that much) or ive got some factory freak that runs higher than normal boost. Ive read a no of threads on this topic n most seem to think a stock 34 should run 7-8psi boost max. I guess by safest bet would be to get a aftermarket boost gauge to confirm this before i start playing with boost.

  15. Are these CAI box still available Maxx? Has anyone fitted one to a R34 GT-T? Any problems encountered, do they fit into the factory drilled holes, etc?

  18. Nice... i also noticed TKO tinting in there Topaz, r they a good mob to use for tint? For some reason the R34's come out std with the back quarter n windshields glass tinted but not the fronts. So i gotta get just my 2 front windows done, shouldn't cost much i imagine?? R those guys mobile as well?

  21. I didnt go thru a broker. Just rang Torque direct on the no. above n they signed me up, i am over 25 tho n have a great record, 6yrs NCB. Hmmm... they didnt seem to mention that they wont cover mods over $1500 to me tho. Otherwise Just Cars was the next best quote i got.
  22. I just got insurance thru Torque Underwriting(recomended by da guy at AutoWholesale near Causeway). Agreed value(not market), Choice of repairers, reasonable premium n the lowest excess and they will insure any mods, just make sure u list em. Only thing is u gotta be over 25 i think(check with em). 1300 369 769. Cheers
  23. Well i would assume that the alarm i got which came with the car has at least 2 points of immobilisation, i think thats the min standard. Which 2 im not sure. And it's probly got a glass break sensor as well which is the most common, i know there isn't any extra microwave devides. Whether this is sufficient im not sure, just tryin to get an idea of wot u guys out there have got. Ive heard of security systems that will let u know (via mobile) if ur cars alarm is goin off, no idea how much they would cost tho. Im also plannin to get a turbo timer soon and im not sure how this will work in conjuction with the immobiliser which cuts in 30secs after u leave the car. Any thoughts? Thanks for the reply Topaz.
