No s1's and s2's headlights are different, s2's are more squarer at the ends then s1's.

Tyres In You Car !
AdamsR33 replied to evil_weevil's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Across the back seat mate, will be tight but turdy did it down to wakie to trackday. -
see Liz i told you you can trust me.hehehe...
-
Mate as you can see in my sig, i have done a 14.04. the car is virtually stock, the mods i have are dump pipe off turbo, 3inch exhaust. thats it really. I run stock turbo, stock FMIC, stock ecu and standard boost. Ohh and that run was on shitty falkens 326's, worst tyre ever!!! well maybe not worst but damn close.

A HSV might be pointless to you but to others its not a bad choice. Its no GTR but then again you can't tow a boat with a GTR for a trip on holidays with the family fully loaded and expect it to do it comfortably and easy. For a family man who can't afford to have (and i don't mean money wise) a GTR sitting in his driveway a HSV or FPV isn't a bad choice. Whats the going rate for a R34 GTR,say $50-60k??? now that car can be anywhere from 3-7 yrs old now, no factory warranty, used where you can get a brand spanker HSV or FPV for same price that has 3yr warranty. Insurance would be the same if not worse for the GTR fuel economy well same, but for the family man he also gets in the HSV or FPV more boot space more passenger space and the best thing of all is that the wife thinks its a family car and its okay to have!!! Granted that the HSV's and the FPV's are all just family cars with a big motor and a bodykit, but they are catered for a market which as we all know is out there, so if these cars are pointless, why is it that people keep buying them, i know if i had to buy a family car again i would seriously look at buying one, there is no way my wife would let me buy a GTR without it having room for the rest of the family. As i said before, horses for courses, if it don't suit you doesn't mean it doesn't suit someone else. Wait until you have a wife and kids, see then if you still get to have a GTR sitting in the driveway, maybe you do if so what's your other car? In saying that though having a GTR and a family car you wouldn't need a hotted up family car. But then again not everyone can afford two gas guzzlers in the family. Just a quick question, why is a HSV or aFPV so pointless?

Liz i just hope you don't want me to hug you while your having a SHIT!!!

R33 Gtst Twin Guage Pillar Pod
AdamsR33 replied to heyhey!'s topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Gidday mate, i'll give ya $70 for it. pm me. -
I had a clubsport, 5.7l 285kw version, i got a 10l/100km on a trip to brissy and back, now you can't say that ain't good fuel economy. i get roughly the same in my r33 but i don't have the room or the power of the clubsport, and i'd be f**ked if i'd trust my r33 to tow a boat as easy as a falcon or a commodore. horses for courses, i'm married and have kids, and we travel for our holidays, but try and do that in a skyline comfortably, don't think so. A skyline is a performance car yes we know that and the commodore is a family car, but what about the people (including me) who want both?? As for the family car being a landcruiser and what not, they drink a hell of alot more then any commodore or falcon, not to mention costs to service and maintain them and even the initial outlay is more. As for the euros going towards diesel yes its a good idea, but they also get a tax benefit for having a diesel powered car. Ford and Holden do need to catch up to the rest of the world in car technology but they have started and they will get there. Don't forget cars coming out of the manufacturers today have been designed four to six years ago. The commodore of today is one of the best designed and built car in Australia, yeah we know its not the best in the world but atleast ford and holden are improving with every model they come out with in quality and design.

Happy birthday to you Mansoor and Mona, hope its a good one! :sorcerer: :sorcerer:

Chris thanks mate, i owe you Okay it seems to be all good now, nice and steady idle. If it was the hose that was broken before or if the ACC valve needed cleaning i don't exactly know which was the problem but both have been done and now she idles like a kitten.

The piont of HSV's is easy, a family car with performance, so if you have kids, need a big car to go away in, there it is. simple. Many men grow up and have a family, and usaully the wife says you gotta get a family car so, HSV have got a family car that has heap of power, what can she say now! Honestly there's no room in a skyline for a family, unless its to the shop for a burger, oh and you can only have two kiddies.

What Strut Bar Is This?
AdamsR33 replied to geo88's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
looks like a 32 strutbar to me, i think DIF on here has one just like it, you can find her in whoretown during the day if you want to confirm with her. -
Looks good to me, abit meaner in the front than the currant model i think. Aussie cars might be abit behind in technology to the euro cars but i think we are getting there. I'd buy one (for the missus that is).

Yeah, sometimes. Although its only for 15-20mins as work is close to home. Don't see much of a change when just driving around town, maybe closer to 450km a tank. I find if i don't boost it much then the fuel lasts alot longer, and besides around town or anywhere for that matter on the street you really don't need to boost it anyway, but then there's the track, where at wakie a few weks ago i went through 3/4 of a tank for the day!!! only did like 250kms!!! Can't wait to see what it uses at Eastern Creek

Okay cleaned my ACC but noticed i had a leak in a small hose just above the ACC valve after i cleaned and replaced it, don't know if i broke it while i was fiddling with the ACC or not, but fixed it. As for the main problem being fixed i don't know, on the sticker under the bonnet it says to set the idle at 650rpm, so i did and it seems to hold idle now but occasionally it 'misses' i don't think it is missing but i don't know how else to describe it. Might be time to get a tune from a shop. Anyway thanks for those who responded, i did actually learn somethings about my car. I will post when/if i find out what/is my problem. Cheers, Adam.

Mate i got a stock 33 s2 only mods are exhaust and pod, i constantly get 450 to 500km per tank, but thats before the light comes on, i did get 520km once just as the light came on, then filled up, still had around 5-8 litres left in tank. I don't boost it much manly drive just to work and back and occasionally weekend fang.

Okay people, i have stock r33 GTS-t S2, went to track day down at wakie and all went well. come home car was all good, a few days later the car started to idle rough, idling down to 500-400rpm, kept running though and hasn't stalled. When i pressed the accelorator car was fine, didn't miss had good power still. I changed the plugs which looked like shit and thought maybe that was the problem but no, idle still rough. I have noticed that when i change gear sometimes or back off sometimes i get popping in the exhaust. Never run the car below just under quarter of a tank of fuel and always premium at worst. Actually since trackday only run BP ultimate. Car isn't running hot or anything just rough idle. I did turn the idle up a smidge and seemed to fix it but it has come back. i don't think turning the idle up is my answer. It doesn't seem to be running lean as fuel usage is about right. Only mods i have are, dump pipe and 3inch exhuast and pod filter, i do have a dual stage boost controller installed but its set on stock 8psi when i'm on the street, when i'm at the track i'll turn it up to 10psi but at wakie it played up and overboosted so left it on 8psi. Any suggestions?? Maybe fuel filter, pump maybe, even a leak?? Don't know, thats why i'm asking you. Cheers Adam.
