In the pic on the left there is a bolt there that has been snapped, is the other half still in the big end cap? if so then theres your answer, the bolt broke opening up the bearings crankshaft came out of the conrod piston stopped then when crank came around again smashed into hanging conrod and bearing and hey presto! total utter CHAOS!

I've got a 33 gtst, and i've just fitted a GFB stealth fx, you can plumback or go atmo, or even half in between, i haven't noticed any difference in fuel econ or performance.

I'm insured through shannons, but i'm 33 and i've got 60% no claim bonus so i only pay 1200 p.a also my excess is only 800. te car is insured for 19000. but this is the first time i could get a turbo car without paying heaps in insurance. its a shame younger ppl can't afford insurance cause these cars are fanastic fun and i know alot of ppl don't buy them cause of that reason, but the other thing is some people do buy these cars and have no insurance at all, which is pretty sad really cause if they cause an accident not only do the innocent people lose out but chances are they will too.

It would actually be harder to smoke 'em up with bald tyres because there is more rubber in contact with the ground, acting like a slick tyre. the tread is there only for when it rains so to channel out the water. Mate you might be heading in the right direction about compression, also don't forget the difference could be a number of things, fuel, temp, and different dyno, it only takes couple of differences and they all start to add up. hey keep us posted as i'm about to spend some cash on my 33 soon.

Hey man these people are only trying to give you some ideas to what could be wrong, any mechanic would only suggest the same without actually looking at the car and seeing what its doing and etc etc. to me what they have said sounds like a start and if none of these is the cause then at least you know what its not.
