  5. what about older turbo cars? too much hassle? only reason i ask, it'd keep my right foot relatively happy and there is a TX5 turbo for sale for $600...
  6. hahaha i'd cruise around in that any day if i could look as cool as the kid at the back! had a quick look for the VW on all the car sites, could not find any around... both cars that i had my eye on were sold yester... Thinking i might go to the car auctions in bris, see how we go, this is damn proving harder than i thought!
  7. wanting to know this too... also whats the power rating of it aaannndd when does boost come on? Oh and the 205kw your mate made, was that on a 32 or 33? Musky
  8. For me yes. As i dont have a job i can't afford to drive it around. And as i dont have a job i can't afford to get it insured, therefore I'd be f**ked if i have an accident. Hence the need for a cheap shitty little car. If i crash, well at least i wont lose $15k + and it'll be alot cheaper to run a smaller car. Looking at a Ford Laser or a Toyota AE82 today. yee ha!
  9. hey guys. thanks for all the replys! gone for half the day and get 2 pages of hits. Woot Yeah im only looking at 1500 bucks tops, and i'd rather get a smaller car rather than a bigger car (falcon or another skyline). Basically a car where you could piss in the tank and it would run, and not have to spend much on. Was and am still keen on the 'Rolla as well as a Barina/Excel/Charade or whatever just want to hear peoples experiences and if there was a car to stay away from so i dont end up getting stuck with something thats costing more money to fix/run than what its worth... Now thats what im talking about! Hopefully i can pick something up like that!
  10. Hey guys. Now as much as i love driving my 33, i've come to realise i drive it too much and want to look after it as much as i can. And so i have decided on buying myself a 2nd car. I'm obviously looking for something reliable and cheap to run. I dont care about looks etc... I know it depends on the previous owners and how well it has been looked after but im just after a general idea. I have heard that the old Corrolla is a reliable car as with the Ford Lasers and TX5's. If any have you have a cheap old shitty run a round let me know of your experiences. So any suggestions will be appreciated. Will hopefully be getting something before the weekend.... Cheers Musky
  11. Thanks for the replies guys. I ended up just taking the fuel pump fuse out and turning the engine over a few times. There was still some fuel spilling out but it wasnt too bad. It was a bit of a mission getting it in but it ended up fitting. And i agree with you guys, that wiring IS horrible, thankfully its not from my car, its a pic from the tutorial that i used as an example!
  12. How do you mean with a lid? Im not sure i understand...

  17. Well i took the fuse cover off and unfortunately i cannot read Japanese.... I dont suppose anyone would know off the top of their head which fuse is for the fuel pump? I have a pic if it helps...
  18. phew! here i was thinking i'd have to fork out $100 or so bucks for a new injector. Thankyou very much!!!
  19. Hello again. I bought a set of second hand injectors a while ago and just noticed one of them has a broken pintle cap (i think thats the name of it). I was just wondering if i need to replace the injector with a new one, or can it be the cap be replaced/fixed? I was gunna have a go at installing these over the next couple of days so any help is appreciated The pic is a bit average because of my average camera but hopefully you get what im saying... Cheers Musky
