  1. nah it runs perfectly fine now. im just wondering if the ECU slowly redid itself.
  2. sorry cant find but i did some little searching for u and found this.. http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/priva...matchallpartial
  3. damn paid $13.45 at true value.. i aint travelling to bunnings another 15kms away to save $2.45 pulled them out 2 nights ago upon inspection none had vissible signs of cracks or marks.. so i decided to bast them with silicon 401 as a DIY thread suggested. waited a night and put them in. started it up warmed her a bit. and took her for a drive still had miss. but it was more upwards of 6000rpm.. had more lower down torque. but still wasnt fully driveable. parked it in the driveway.. gave it a free rev held it at 4k to see if it would splutter. and it didnt. then took it for a drive again and it was better. came back. decided that i would try to cool the intake temps to limit chances of detonation.. so i threw some cold water on the SMIC and took her for a drive. revs fine all the way to 5500 and cough and then to redline.. after a while it ended up fixing itself.. now my guess is the ECU adjusted itself a littlebit as it went on. or due to lower air temps ther was less pinging and it helped out. thus cleaning out any hot spot carbon deposits from the head leaving it clean.. sound right..?
  4. are u giving a boot when cold? or only when its warm..
  5. haha i run DENSO platniums in mine was 1.1 and it was missing. so i got feeler guages and a brick and regapped them my self to 0.8mm. plug tips are designed to take a beating think of the compression and explosions it takes in the head...
  6. ill give u 500 for it.
  7. ok pulled them out 2 nights ago upon inspection none had vissible signs of cracks or marks.. so i decided to bast them with silicon 401 as a DIY thread suggested. waited a night and put them in. started it up warmed her a bit. and took her for a drive still had miss. but it was more upwards of 6000rpm.. had more lower down torque. but still wasnt fully driveable. parked it in the driveway.. gave it a free rev held it at 4k to see if it would splutter. and it didnt. then took it for a drive again and it was better. came back. decided that i would try to cool the intake temps to limit chances of detonation.. so i threw some cold water on the SMIC and took her for a drive. revs fine all the way to 5500 and cough and then to redline.. after a while it ended up fixing itself.. now my guess is the ECU adjusted itself a littlebit as it went on. or due to lower air temps ther was less pinging and it helped out. thus cleaning out any hot spot carbon deposits from the head leaving it clean.. sound right..? so all in all. cost me $13.45 from true value and a cup of water. better than $600 splitfires. hope it doesnt come back..
  8. ive installed 3 of them autogauge gauges.. all work perfectly fine. will be using the smoke series gauges soon as they look better.
  9. i cleaned out my PM box as it was really full and deleted his PMs. sorry i knw his name is Mark J. H as it is the same as me Mark J. H he lives in perth or adelaide or somewher he has a white R33 GTST.. thats all i can help with sorry. good bloke. if u find him he should help out.
  10. i knw a dude who did this converion.. ill look him up.. also do the RB26 subframe fit the R33GTST chasis?
  11. hmm.. might do that. GTST tow car.. what was ur excuse for nissan.. uhh it dnt fit my skyline..?
  12. thats right i remember.. they taught me bout that.. the fuel vapours go through the cannister and any remainding vapours go thru vacum lines to ur plenum...
  13. thats true. ive learnt more om my old work mates and the forums than from the magazines. but it is nice to get the GTR special from HPi that was a good read. this issue addresses oil and sumps and pumps.. basic stuff but it was good. i did like the article on the evo9 MR if u buy HPI from the shops u normally get an old issue and an old issue of ZOOM aswell. zoom was good but focuses more on drags. drift battle is pretty good. have a guess what that is a bout. but if u need infomation about cars. its not a good idea to just read it only. best is to talk to people who knw ther stuff. my bro read the s13 RB20 conversion guide once and said that sounds easy lets put an RB20 in the S13 when we get some $$$. hehe all in all i still think its worth the $10 a month..
  14. i remeber speed it was like a sister mag or something. not a big fan of HOT4s or autosalon as its all rice.but now they r changing ther diet to a bit of meat.. see a few beefy bits instead of vinyls.. anyway. HPi was real good around 6months ago. but its dying down. just thought ill let u guys knw whats in it so u can choose to buy it urself or not.
  15. its not that.. why the hell do ppl like that give us ppl who drive cars stares. are they jealous or stupid. hes prob trying to act tough infront of his gf bitch. anyway. he cant do anything even if he gets ur numberplate. a skyline with the number plates *** *** reved his engine and took off after stopping. and from my understanding it was a road not a crossing so they wer J-walking.?
  16. just letting u fellas knw whats on in issue 76. as it wont be instors for like another week. thank my GF for the subsription present.. its starting to look like hot4s.. oh well.. midori Seibi centre 350z sema auto show QLD's CUR53 JZA Supra APH04H BNR32 460KW atw EVo IX MR review HR 31 workshop review Mercury motorsport an S13 and other tech stuff its starting to get a bit disapointing. and thinner.. oh well be a good read later on. enjoy mark.
  17. thanks mate. ill be installing one on the 34 i think.
  18. drain with engine running. thats a bit harsh i think. i would rather have 250ml of old dexron II in the cooler than run it dry... seeing the cooler is higher it should drain back to the sump well the majority should.
  19. cause fuel hardens plastic and rubber and the injectors may not sit flush.. but im sure if u highflow them they fit new seats.? anyone confirm.
  20. adjust the tensioner. and if that dnt work enjoy. walking out and opening via the key.
  21. well give a boot full it will miss a splutter and or detonate. engine may go bang lol. nah but seriously it will be ok. just run the tank out and fill up with optimax. lol putting petrol in a diesel car. had a guy in a brand new hiace D4 TDI who filled up with unleaded. that pissed out smoke. ended up draining tank. replacing filter. priming. remove filter prime again. and spend 30mins cranking...
  22. personally i think they are all the same we always used dexron III the castrol one is good but valvoline has a cheaper version all the same. if the car is loaded often change it every 40kms. or less. just check the colour every 6months. also i tend to do a filter service which involvestaking the tran oil pan off pulling off hydraulic lines. replacing filter and getting realy dirty and smelly. when replacing the gasket for the sump. dont overtighten it.. just wait till u start doin diffs. that gets stinky.
  23. AIR FLOW METER. is a black tube after ur filter or box with wires coming out. rub it for goodluck. i had the AFM prob too ended up being dry solder on my GTR.
  24. fair enough. yeah i brought some R34 GTT rims for run about rubber as i sold my old rims and had new tyres sitting at home. they clear my calipers with around 3mm spare.. they could do with spaces to get them to fill the GTR guards. more to the list Strut braces starter motors. - could all be same part numbers. but u can use RB20 in RB26..
  25. ok i understand that the charcoal cannister aids in emission control. can a tech member shed some more light on this.
