also my mate got a brand new 06 astra just the shitty 1.8 or 2.0L thingo. he put a pod on (he got me to) and he started to run premium as a test. and he says that he got more power. my mate also had a RB30DE R31 siloette (burnout machine) and he started to run premium cause he says it runs smoother and better. good enough for me
when doin my GTR turbos i lost all my coolant and most of it in my head cause the turbos are lower. so i used genuine nissan coolant. 2L a little water. ther is a bleed screw next to the fuel rail on Rb26 i dnt knw if u coverd that. its imprtant to unscrew that to let air out.
mark. GTR engines run very very hot under the bonnet fresh effective coolant is essential
RB26 gotta love the filter location. having all different lines and wiring around the filter didnt help either. when i did my first service on my GTR i ripped the filter oring. (Ryco) and repco was close at the time. did it at night after work. it dripped a little bit. i replaced it soon after that. repco are dicks. hate ther attitude
youll get a little more power.. and u should get more fuel economy but it wont justify for the extra 10cents per litre he will pay.
u hear alot of crazy shit originating from teenagers mouths. im a late teen myself and all my friends go put pods on ur gtr. MORE POWER. no u dickhead. but being an ex-apprentice mechanic i know better. kids will learn in time. this is their learning process
the late model 1996- VR4 galant is a V6 TT uses small lil TD04 or 03s.
what is required to fit the sump baffle in a nutshell? possible to do at home without too much hassle? for RB26 GTR? do we expect extra capacity? very interested.
thanks for the heads up its a pitty ive already purchased my new rims in desperation and a week later R33GTR rims go on ebay for $900 with good tyres.. such is life
my 32GTR gets 400kms for a tank apprx 65-70L
K&N panel, nismo full 3.5" xhast, stock boost, Kakimoto ecu chip.
ive heard of GTR owners only gettin a mere 200kms so i thank my stars.
Im using Denso PQ20R or P20R.. whatever a GTR uses.
cost me $8 each at cost price. they are a platnium plug. and i re gapped them to a 0.75mm. they replaced my HKS plugs that came with the car. big difference very pleased.
Alot of GTRs have an AFM connection problem mine is doin it now. will it hit a safe mode when driving? i had the same problem sort of too i change the fuel filter and a hose. injector clean and new plugs and regap and it still did it. heat shielded my AFM with alfoil and its good. have to do the full fix soon though started to stutter again.
mark.
Legacy and B4 run the sequential Twin turbo setup and so do Supras and Late model VR4s. the sequential setup is designed to eliminate lag and give more usable torque and constant boost if possible. one spools up then the other kicks in later on. say the first turbo is small and produces boost from 2000-5000rpm when high enough the small turbo dies off and the big one kicks up and holds her to redline. whats stupid is..
he claims to have a GTR. GTRs are known for ther torque range mid-high. The GTR can rev to 9000rpm why would u have a smaller sequential turbo for low down when a GTR around a track wont go below 6000rpm? quite pointless .. GTRs arnt doughy downlow anyway.
Extractors are mainly tuned lengths of exhast piping dsigned to maximise flow...
i used 2L of genuine coolant from nissan to replace all in my GTR block , radiator and hoses. Make sure u use green coolant. and just use the genuine. if ur too cheap to use a $12.50 per Litre bottle of coolant. then ur prob too cheap to own a Skyline. its gonna be an expensive piece of work.
