  1. Hey all just a curiosity question, I was speaking to a very experienced and knowledgeable mechanic and has told me to not use a SAFC of any kind because they are known to cause problems and headaches, I assume because it tricks the factory ecu. what do you guys think??
  2. Cool so this works does it?? so you bypass the solenoid completely and run off the actuator. its better this way i guess so you dont burn out the solenoid but is it safe?? any opinions
  3. Hey guys im going to put in a R34 side mount cooler to replace my smaller R33 one and before I install it whats the best way of cleaning it. what should be used. What the best tool to bend back bent fins?? Thanks

  5. Nah i'll never take the odometer reading as gospel hehe. I just want to know if its a safe things to use. Ive been going through this thread and man ive got a headache and I just want to know what oil to buy tonight when i go down to supercheap. I just want something good quality and something quietens down my lifters abit during start up thats it. any suggestions for my 1996 R33?? Im sure its not rocket science but after reading a few pages im like damnnn oil choice is a massive decision.

  7. So i wouldnt have problems running mobil 1 0w40 in a 11 year old car with 92,000kms???
  8. Hows the oil pressure on the mobil 1 5w50?? Ive been told with mobil the oil pressure can be a lil low when can gets hot?? or is this just rubbish!!!!!
  9. Ive been using penrite HPR 10 in mine and oil pressure is great and car seems to love it. It meets API standards and yeah but I know mobil 1 is better and i'll be using it next.
  10. If my vac line runs straight from the cooler return pipe to the actuator will this do anything at all like bypass the solenoid and run off the max boost setting of the actuator?? Just dont want to do this and burn out the solonoid by having it open all the time.
  11. Thats a pretty well sealed and good looking box. Im sure you should be getting air from behind the headlight anyways so should be good regardless. Mind me asking where you acquired this box??
  12. Yeah take the silencer off thats probs your dilemna. you wont get heatsoak while driving especially with that massive cooler. Heatsoak would occur when your at traffic lights on a hot day and you'll feel loss of power upon take off.

  15. Whats surprising is that if its like one of the UAS type cold air boxes these are well sealed and the air is picked from behind the headlight. so wierd that your not getting air.
  16. An ecu reset is always a good idea. Im thinking it is to do with air feed. Maybe take the box off and see if your car goes back to normal. If it does then its an issue of not enough air. Did the car run well without a box or was it suffering from heatsoak???
  17. Man thats wierd!!! The cold air box should not make you lose any power. Are giving it a proper Air feed??? What kind of air box r u using?? by the way I think your cars hot!!!

  19. Sounds to me your cars just a freak of nature cause I dont think the R33 ecu can be chipped or modded. Thats mad!! Some other guy here I just read got 188kw's on just an exhaust,fuel pump and power fc!!! thats nuts I know Dyno's figures arent exactly accurate but thats still alright Must go good regardless.
  20. your kidding thats awesome man!!!! Is that your R33 in the pic doing the monster burn out?? I was under the impression R33 ECU's were the cars weakest link and the first think that needed to go. keeping the stock ecu in your case is mad cause its protected well due to ecu's protection in regards to running rich. Is this common for a boosted R33 running 180-200rwkw to run on a stock ecu well like yours. Or is your R33 some kind of freak of nature!!!

  22. well im just really asking if its even possible to have 180kw with low boost using the right equipment?? Just curious. I was reading one the import magazines and it was going on about a consevative way of modding and it said that the point on modifying a turbo would be be trying to the most power out of it using the least amount of boost increase. So hence why I was asking if its even possible to have good numbers with low boost.
  23. Im not talking monster figures. Im quiet conservative with my power goals im saying 180 - 190kw at the wheels.
  24. Ive been reading around and ive heard of car running stockish boost around 7-8psi with a simple set up (FMIC,EBC etc) and getting alright power. Is this even possible??? If so then what kinda turbo they using cause I wanna know??
