lifter noise common in skylines. Maybe try using thicker oil but all is sweet if its your lifters.

I find it funny when people come on here create fake profiles just for the sake of nissan skyline bashing. It is a skyline forum after all so if you think fords are better then go and post in the ford forum. Im quite fortunate to own a 2005 Ford xr6t ute for work and a R33 skyline for other times. I love both cars they both have there benefits and draw backs. As a car enthusiast aslong as im happy with what I drive then its all that matters. hey guys after reading the posts of all the audiophiles who know there stuff. Ive decided to upgrade my front doors with some high quality speakers and amp them plus sound deaden. As i dont want a subwoofer have worked out changing rear speakers is useless. So have found a set of Boston Acoustics PRO60 6.5" Component Speakers for a decent amount which would be around the 125 w RMS handling. I have an amp which is enough to give it plenty of juice. Also my speaker budget is around $600 maybe abit more if the speakers are worth it. Are the bostons good?? If you guys know of other component speakers which would handle my rnb hip hop music and deliver excellent quality of sound please let me know.

Hey all. Im after a nice and simple decent system. Im only going to go for speakers and no sub woofer. Im basically after decent all round quality. Im thinking of the Pioneer Pro series 6" splits component speakers for the front and then a half decent 6" rear speaker and sound deaden the front doors and get a decent amplifier. Would this be alright???

Is that the only sign?? What about slippage?? Is it when you change gears the car revs out??

Hey Guys Ive luckily never had any probs with clutches in the past so dont have experience in knowing when the clutch is on its way out. What are the signs that tell you its time to replace the clutch???

Apexi pods are loud so no idea why you cant hear anything. Have you lost boost pressure?? can you hear the turbo spooling??

It would be safe to assume yes there would be probs like stalling and idiling issues

yeah i agree with beer baron. Have to compliment you on your car and your mods always gets me tempted into investing in a R32 gtr but the chances of finding one in good nick are impossible.

Yeah ive got that aswell when cold mostly hear it mostly when you leave the car for a while then turn it on but as soon as you drive the car and its warm it quietens down. so its Lifters need to experiment with different oils until it goes away im still doing this.

I had a similar prob with idle being abit wierd and getting stuck and going up to 1,100rpm by itself. Ended up being TPS cleaned the contacts and all good Not to sure if it would help but atleast its something else to look into.Another person I know had a pod filter changed it back to stock ecu reset and good. RB25's r mysterious sometimes good luck mate!!!!

I sent Mobil Lubeline an Email and they responded they recommend Mobil 1 5W50 for my car would this be an incorrect choice then for my situation???

yeah I will see 1-W30 ay is this safe to run not too thin?? I have a pretty stock R33 just a full exhaust I know you told me thinking synthetic oils is a wifes tale when it comes to thinking they are only for new cars and are too thin for R33 skyline turbo cars but ive heard it from a couple of peeps. Also i want a oil which gives me stable oil pressure mobil 1 supposedly gives a lower pressure I know delvac does. Anyone know how much to replace the lifters??? Also wouldnt running a thicker oil say mobil 1 5W50 quiet down lifters/tappets???

Hey guys ive had noisy lifters for a while now starting to pee me off alittle. its only when cold for example today parked the car in the city came back drove it out to the ticket box i could hear it after like 3-5 minutes driving car nice and warm back to normal silence. Ive always used 10W40 oil should I try a 5W50 would the lower cold weight be better for cold starts?? Or should I just replace and forget??? Anyone know how much it is to replace lifter in a R33??? Thanks in advance for your responses.

If anyone has a bolt on R33 Stealth FX blow off valve that they dont want anymore let me know how much to take it off your hands. Im in sydney but dont mind paying for postage if the price is right. cheers

Hey guys I use to have a blow off valve in my car and when i put it on my car's revs use to get stuck at like 1,000-1,200 rpm. took off the bov and taken it to the mechanic and plugged it in the console and yeah tps was not working probs he cleaned it and it was all good. Just wondering im thinking bout getting GFB themselves to install a bov the stealth one just wondering if yeah the blow off valve has anything to do with the tps going all funny?? The mechanic said that something is meant to open and close and it wasnt doing it.

Yeah I work in insurance and yeah it pays off to call up and enquire nicely. Im with just cars and im on agreed value not to sure why they said they only do market value. Market value is crap!!! It means they work out the value of your car upon your claim. You may think you r car is insured for $20,000 but then the assessor goes aww the market value now is much lower and thats all your going to get.

All skylines run rich its cause the stock ecu does it to protect the engine. Now if your running a aftermarket ecu just go get it re-tuned. If not just go out but a cheap second hand safc II get it tuned and your sweet

Cool I guess im going to go put a pod in then. Ive always wanted to but was for some reason made to believe a unshielded pod was damaging to a reasonably stock r33. all I have is a turboback exhaust.

yeah you have a valid point but i dont think the little stock cooler can handle the extra heat from a unshielded pod on a hot day do you???
