Hi all, I currently have a stock R33 S2. So stock suspension and 16 alloys. I plan to get some 18" with 235/18/40 rubber. Now this will make my car, as is, look quite high and silly, correct? So i will need to do some adjustments with suspension? What are my options? Now please remember, i am not interested in racing, i doubt i will ever take my car to a track, its an everyday normal car but fun and for my to enjoy. I frequent quite bumpy roads, so i do NOT want my car to be really firm and stiff like alot of people's. I do want decent handling but dont want to feel every bump so my dash rattles and my arse bruises. This is important. I want a relatively smooth ride. And i dont want to spend alot of money. One option i am aware of is just getting some Tomei progressive springs ($500 fitted) and dropping the car say an inch or so. But yeah how the car handles bumps is my biggest concern. What can i do?

Yeah well to be honest i would prefer 17"s for ride and $ just doesnt seem to be as good variety of 17s out there. Still making my mind up. Tyres are a concern regardless.

Ok so another idea to combat costs. Is it ok to put different tyres on the front compared to the rear? ie T1R on rear, cheaper stuff on fronts? OR Can you get impuls rims in 17"?

oh god that is way out of my budget then. I want to spend under $300 each.

Yeah i have and based on that i had decided Falken 451's without a doubt, but they are no longer an option. I am guessing maybe Toyo T1R but not sure how good they are re: longivity?

There was that guide posted in the thread on how to install them im pretty sure. I know saw it.

Who has installed their HID kit they got in the group buy about a month ago?? How has it gone? Thoughts on product? Pictures? Very keen to hear back as i still have not had the chance to get mine in!

Hi all, I am looking to get some 18" StarCorp Impuls shadow chrome rims for my r33 s2. I have only now just discovered falken 451's are not around anymore. So i am stumped. I had decided that was what i wanted to get and am now clueless. What other current tyres are around that are as good as the 451's and not anymore expensive? I want something farely good in dry and wet conditions and that will last a while. FYI i plan to get 235/18/40 all around... if there is nothing wrong with that?

Hi all, I am after some 17" or 18" Impuls style shadow rims in GOOD condition. I am also after some stock 205/16/55 tyres with decent reed for my stock rims. Im located in campbelltown sydney.

Ive been in a few cars with starcorp rims and they seemed decent quality to me for normal everyday use...

Whats the going price for 451 rubber on 18"'s now?

Yeah but they are $1500 + more for decent tyres. I want falken 451 rubber. I dont see how i can afford 18's with good rubber, plus with 18's i will get a bumpier ride and not quite as good handling.

Well if someone can point out some shadow impulse rims 17" or 18" that arent too expensive, i'd be interested. Although would 18's fit without modifications??

I would love too, but i dont want anything bigger than 17" for handling and most importantly financial reasons. I dont see any shadow 17" impulse.... lol

Nah ive seen them that price normally, i'll wait a while before i buy speakers. Just pointing out that ridiculous price.

Surely the pod filter wouldnt have much of an impact...

I am after a box/enclosure for a pod filter. Really cut i missed one off the bloke that was selling them here so if anyone can help me get one and not spend ridiculous $ in the process that would be great!

I used the bloke Chris Rogers refers too in Sydney, his name is Alan. Did a pretty good job. Installed the alarm system within the dash so you can't tamper with it without ripping the dash out first. Certainly happy with the quality of his work, not that i know much. Interesting you mention the alarm re-arms itself (alarm, immobiliser, and locks) if you dont open a door after disarming it. Havent noticed if mine does, will certainly go check tonight. But i do know my immobiliser kicks in after 30seconds of the keys being removed/car disarmed and not started, and that conflicts with my turbo timer if i have it set for 30 seconds.... alarm goes off ! Spewing. So i have turbo timer set at 20 seconds.
