ok what the f**k. I have R33 Series 2, what type of globes do i need? H1? H4? Someone?

Ok i get that they are bright and all. But if they are that good... how can they work as ur high beam without blinding other motorists etc? ie if u adjust them down, they wont illuminate far and thus wont function as a high beam properly... and if they are adjusted so they illuminate far... other motorists and the cops will kill you. So im confused.

Whatdo you mean i wont be needing high beams anymore? If these HID globes that will replace my outer low beam bulbs are that powerfull and illuminate that far/bright, wont they piss off everyone i drive past at night?

Common problem apparently, many causes. I just got mine fixed the other week, the actual HICAS computer was f**ked. Replaced it with a 2nd hand one and no more problems. But its very rare the problem is the actual computer.

24, perfect driving history, $1800 with Just Car insurance for agreed value of $19500 for R33 S2 with minor mods.

Why risk it? wont save much. Ive found Mobile Synergy 8000 to be the best fuel for my R33 S2... on a tank of BP Ultimate now just testing, think the Mobile is better.

Faaaark. Can anyone who has done this recommend what i can do? What sorta polish? Sandpaper? sounds like what caused this problem to start with to me... but what do i know lol

Thanks alot for your reply bankids. So i need H1 for my R33 series 2? Series 2 has dual headlights so what impact does that have on this? I need 2 sets? ie i dont want my lights on and half the headlight enclosure looks white and the other half yellow.. ? Sorry, like i said, im a real noob. I read the original WA thread cover to cover, didnt notice an install guide.... Very keen just wanna get my head around things.

Hi Guys, Finally got my car! Had it for 2 weeks, pouring the money into it to make it how i want. Well not so true, im broke already, so slowly but surely. Anyhow its an R33 series 2 and i have noticed the headlight are scratched quite a bit. Not sure why, god knows what they got up too in Japan. My mind boggles trying to wonder how, but it looks shit if you notice it especially when the lights are on. Almost like they were attached with sand paper. What can i do? Its not deep i dont think, so can they be polished with any sort of compound to fix it? Are the headlight lenses glass or some sort of plastic? I havent had much time to fiddle with the car at all so busy, and im a total car ignoramous aswell especially when it comes to mechanics and details. Hope to slowly rectify that a little. But yeah, what can i do? Can the front part of the headlight assembly be removed and replaced or would i have to replace the entire freaking headlights? If anyone lives in the campbelltown region i'd be happy to meet up to get advice. Cheers Rob

Ok i am really interested but dont know jack. Appreciate if you could answer these questions to help us ignorant fools. I have a pretty much stock R33 series 2. Which of these HID kits are suitable? I dont mind a slight blue tinge if its nice just so long as they are bright and white. So whats suitable for my car? Why so cheap compared to kits i've seen advertised here for $800+ ?? Do they require any other parts or work to install that cost a significant amount? If so what is required? Do they illuminate better than the stock lights? Not talking about colouration... road illumination. ? As i said, very very interested, but need answers..

My car has a 3" cat back exhaust, i think its by Fujitsubo or someone. Anyone know if it'll be under 92db? Can i get it tested without fear of being defected?

Im a fan of JVC quality but to be honest i just browsed there current offerings for headunits on the oz site and there wasnt really anything there i liked the appearance of. Quite dissapointed, im in the market for a HU next month.

Yeah that sounds like a good idea. Just make sure i learn the quick key combo to disable turbo timer function so car turns off straight away if i get pulled over. Edit: Actually can you guys show me a photo of yours setup? Want to get exact ideas in my head so i can get a good idea before my car arrives!!

Want to be able to see it because it does more than just act as a turbo timer. Thats an idea on the steering wheel column and tell them its an information display for speedo... that legal? Good idea!! I might just do that. Whats this about the HKS disabling the speed limiter??

Hi Guys, I've posted a few threads over the past months asking i guess annoying questions. Well, here is another. Where do you guys mount/locate/whatever turbo timers, gauges, electronic displays etc? Basically, i really like the look of the HKS type 1 turbo timer. I want it. And i want to be able to see it when im driving. But i am very worried about a copper or RTA defecting me for it and then having to go blue slip and basically being royally f**ked. I see pics of you guys with things on the dash, pillar etc and i know its illegal. Basically i dont want to get caught for obvious stuff. What are my options? I was thinking, and this is just a thought, that perhaps i could remove the double din audio system, replace it with a single din HU and in the din below it, put the turbo timer there somehow... with some sort of face plate covering it for when i need it to be not seen. Is that doable? My only other option i can think of to keep a low profile is get one of those small apexi ones and have it under the dash/steering column.. but i like the HKS.

So boost is determined by the amount of throttle your foot puts down, not how many revs?? Can someone explain how it works in more detail. My car arrives this month so would love to know before i hit a telegraph pole!
