Thanks Liz, thats actually right near my work. Are they reliable with skylines? Do they use ELF or other such good oils? I've only ever taken my car to powerplay so am quite nervous going elsewhere..

After a bit of reading around ive heard that powerplay might still have their workshop open? Can anyone confirm and have a way to contact them?

Might have, it doesnt get out much tho.... maybe twice a week for short spurts max!! Is that Jack Hillermans or near it? I got car fixed there and they did a damn fantastic job... they work mostly on Subarus but might just go there, i want a reputable place.

Hi Guys, Been a while since i was on here... car sits in the basment haha. I used to use powerplay imports to service my car as i originally imported through those guys but their phone is disconnected and someone else told me they shut down, so was wondering what other reputable workshops are around the lower north shore to service my r33 s2? After having a car accident my lovely insurance provider has provided me with brand new headlights for my R33.... they look so clear hehe these will keep me satisfied for a while!

Thanks for the support guys much appreciated. Still feel dreadful but better than last night at least. My insurer LSV have so far been very responsive and helpful. Will update my experience as we go.

Im gonna give the car to Jack Hillermans in Artarmon. Very close to home and their workshop looked big and tidy and they were nice to talk too.

Been trying to find recommended smash repairs / workshops and its hard going on this site!! Most thrads i find are closed without giving comments. Anyhow. I've found one which is close called "Chatswood Prestigue Auto Repair center"... website seems good, can anyone comment?

Im with LSV and have choice of repairer. I guess i'll find out how good they are to deal with but yeah just no idea who is good to take the car too.

Hey guys Just had my first real accident at the joyous age of 29. I was pulling out right onto a main rd and hiluxy type thing was pulling in. I saw him but didnt notice a blinker so started pulling out(its a finky place can be stuck for ages if u dont take ur chances) whilst looking left then looked right again and wow he's pulling into the street im in and i hit him. I think more damage to my car than his but it was too dark to tell. My bonnet is bent, front spoiler and lip damaged, drivers quarter panel damaged, and drivers headlight enclosure smashed. Maybe some damage in corner of engine bay havent opened it incase i cant close it again. I feel like total crap. Anyway i have full comprehensive insurance but ironically its due for renewall in less than 2 weeks. Should i auto renew it now before i tell them about accident tomorrow? Also can anyone recommend some repairers pref lower north shore. I was thinking of just trying to give it to powerplay imports to fix as they are who i got it thru and have done all the servicing over the years but the car will need some paint work too. Help me out guys... this is my first accident, i feel soooooo bad.

Been meaning to get this fixed for over a year but never got around to it as only use the car 2/3 times a week. Broke the aerial in a car wash haha. Im currently insured with LSV and my insurance is due next month. Im really worried... Been with them a few years and never made a claim, but last year they upped my premium to something like $2400 instead of $1400... its an R33 GTST for christs sake she aint worth much. My mate with a $45k Golf GTI pays the same as me and my car is worth 1/4 of his if that! Im 29 no accidents/claims living in north shore. Thankfully last year LSV sent me a renewall at $1400 in error (new policy pref to stay away from imports) so they honoured it and i got out of the new rates of an extra $1k... waiting to see what they send me this time. Shannons wont touch me as my basement garage does not have an individual cage for my car, so i fear ill only be able to afford third party now which im very uncomfortable about. Or are there other insurance options around now?

Was bound to happen sooner or later, forgot to put aerial down in car wash and it snapped. I've ripped half of it it out and all of the cable but need a new one aerial/cable. My motor is still ok just need the rest. Or is it not quite that simple?

Looks like that handy place some of us were using out in Parra, AoN, no longer do cheap green slips. Just got my renewal in the mail and they seem to be called CiC now and its $670! Double the price. Online check on maa website best got was $570 from NRMA. R33 is becoming a damn expensive car to have for what it is. Does anyone know of anywhere that can do green slips for better than above?

Looks like im gonna renew my policy with LSV. Agreed value $16k Premium $1,516 Excess $1,000 Scary thing is when i called up the guy today apparently when i had previously called few weeks ago the agreed value on my current policy was changed to $16k when it was at $20k... i had only asked for a bloody renewall quote!! I then ask well do you have all my mods? they didnt have any!!!! I know for certain i told them over the phone a year ago when i did it as im always cautious to cover the main stuff! Even worse, the guy today didnt even seem to care about mods he's like it wont change the agreed value. I fire back saying mate im reading through the information on your website and if mods arent declared the policy could be void... take them down please!!!

Well after calling and being rejected before even getting into details i drove into the Shannon's office in st leonards. They seemed like they were going to give me a quote until they found out my car is kept in a secure basement without an individual cage... at which point they said sorry cant do. Im spewing, i should of just fibbed like alot of others do. Now basically my only 2 choices are LSV and Famous. :-(

He was nice about it he just apologised and said thats the instructions they have been given over the past month or so. So basically what he is saying is we wont do it, but we do it if we feel like it.

Shannons - Wont touch me. No reason other than they arent doing skylines or similiar unless its in addition to your existing policy or stuff like that. Famous - $1750 premium + $750 excess + $1000 theft excess for value of $16k. Not too impressed. I've got 1 week left to get cover. Crap!!
