  1. You fan should run off a thermositor. Figure out if you can tap a frequency or voltage line coming out of it and then add one of these: http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=KC5378 http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=KC5377 program in the relevant voltage/frequency that corresponds to the temp you want and off you go.
  2. nope. I know... that's what's shitting me... the fact that I can't visualise what it'd look like. Otherwise I'd have made the call and gone for it.
  3. thank christ the dude decided to keep his wheels. was he lebanese?
  4. cos the kit can be supplied with an R32 front bar, or MK5 R32 style front bar. Same price, 100% polyurethane (no fibreglass), fits perfect etc. Gotta love aftermarket parts out of Europe... none of this half arsed stuff like jap aftermarket parts. Yeah consensus seems to be that MK5 R32's should only exist on MK5's and not on MK4's. Pity no one's done it before (or if they have they've done some gaybo fibreglass conversion that looks shocking) so I can't tell if I like it or not.
  5. ... or just don't jump on the pedal so hard and pulse your braking. costs $0, and it level up's your driving skills.
  6. bigger brakes will just lock you up harder. learn to let go of the pedal when you feel it locking up and then reapply pressure... that's what ABS does anyways, just stops you from stomping on the pedal like a full retard.
  7. stop wasting money you don't have on pissy little gimmicks.
  8. woot. just bought a brand new unpainted OEM VW golf MK4 R32 kit. now the question is, should I get the optional MK5 GTI style front bumper or should I get the regular MK4 R32 front bumper? MK4 R32 sides and rear: MK4 R32 front: real MK5 R32: same style but for an MK4: probably should just stick to MK4, cos putting a MK5 front is a lil wanky like R34 fronts on R32's. Mind you there's not that many guys no one who've done it.
  9. have a running race use only S14 with full interior and auto engine all hooked up in melbourne. PM if interested.

  13. baroneh... apps to definitely get: Air Display (stream video over your network so you don't have to convert divX's of TV shows and movies) Sketchbook Pro (drawing app) Wired magazine (online tech mag, if you're into that) iTeleport (VNC so you can remote control your PC/mac) games: Need for Speed Shift Plants vs Zombies HD Fiedrunners for iPad
  14. i haven't been to the shop since sunday. maybe next weekend. just ring him ya lazy kent.
  15. I don't... we have a guy that does paint and panel at the shop, Shane. It's all he gets paid to do. He's currently finishing off all the outstanding jobs atm... including CR34M
  16. is everything ready to go and have you got cash money ready to pay now? might ask our painter if he can fit in a job before we shut up shop. 1 day for dropoff/dismantling, 2 days for prep (if you're using fibreglass cos that shit never lines up), 1 day for paint, 1 day to reassemble. drop it off monday you'll have it on friday. We're not cheap though.
  17. It's supposed to be a sporty looking roadster. Black is nice on big cars. Black MR2 is full homo spec.
  18. I've had one since the US release, through work (developing apps/ebooks for Penguin, we're one of the Apple partners for books n stuff). It's so painful having one in my hands and not being able to jailbreak it (legalities of work n stuff). Also up until it was launched in Australia I wasn't allowed to take it out of the office as per our agreement with Apple. Apps... I actually like the mail and photo apps, as they're so well designed and intuitive. Borders app sucks balls. So far I haven't been that impressed by any apps as such as they're all just blown up versions of their iPhone counterparts, although Wired and Time mag's "apps" are really awesome. Can't comment on games cos I'm not allowed to install them on the one I've got (*grumble*). Yet to buy one for personal use though. Holding out to see if I'll be buying an iPhone 4G after its reveal in a few days. If I decide to go with an Android phone over the iPhone 4G, I'll just hold out for a HP/MSI/Asus tablet later this year.
  19. yes you do, to make up for the missing 0.5L and turbo or VVTi.
  20. fuck the black bonnet off and you have a winner. red all over cleared indicators/tails scoop and that wing. black or white wheels. oh yeah.
  21. those aren't real carbon, they're water transfer prints.
  22. they made a copy of a copy, our deal was exclusive sales through driftline. Big Red needed a copy so that was the first one we pulled, then the second one went to some arab dude who paid lots of money, who then went off an made a mould off that anyways... sofa king awesome.
  23. Importation is a two step process here. The car has to be eligible for import (regardless of LHD or RHD) first, and then once imported, needs to comply with Australian Design Rules and state registration requirements before you can register it. So in your case, they can be imported if they were made in or before 1988 or if you've owned them for over a year (as a personal import). However, cars need to be 30 years old before the LHD exemption kicks in (ADR/registration requirement, not importation requirement). I'm not 100% certain on the requirements of campervans for registration, but for cars that's certainly the rule.
