    Ecu Help

there's an ATTESA computer that receives a signal from the ECU (readings from sensors like speed etc). Pinouts are different between RWD and AWD ECU's though.
  8. i just bought all the XCom games on steam on the weekend for 5 bucks... awwww yeah. reliving my childhood with pixellated turn based games now.
  9. depends, after 1996 they got the option of bigger brakes on N/A's... beofre that they were 2 pots in front and 1 pot in the rear. most often if brakes are redone on earlier models guys put turbo brakes on the front as they're easier to find.
  10. 1.9L is MK4 tech though... its like buying a skyline with an RB20E.
  11. no, is cos you look like an organised crime member of middle eastern origin (beard).
  12. so you have 4 pot brakes?
  13. ah yeah, the SZ-R forgot about those... aren't those rare as rocking horse shit though?
  14. I call BS. I don't remember seeing any N/A poopras that came out with getrags from factory. They all came with W58 5 speed boxes. Clunky as shit... but they take a beating, kinda like 300zx boxes I guess, all that power and weight so they gotta overengineer the bits inbetween so nothing snaps.
  15. Price difference between 2.0L TDi and GT Sport TDi? CBF with paddles, wheels and suspension will get changed regardless. Seats... meh. Is it really worth it? Performance... well it'll share the garage with much higher performance cars, so for commuting only in bumper to bumper traffic. maybe occasional country roadtrip.
  16. work is being gay over here too. motivation levels: 0%
  17. no your watermark is pixelated... the "rm photography" bit.
  18. Yeah, this cruise finished ages ago. Mods, can you move this to past events? Apparently the guys up in Sydney are organising a cruise to the Middle Eastern Organised Crime Unit party. Roadtrip?
  19. I think you need to go back to primary school in that case.
  20. thought the 2.0L TDI was the GT? Although for shits n giggles I would love to get a MK4 1.9L TDi and run it on fish & chip oil
  21. there's an initiation process... a part of which involves jelly wrestling in a bikini with hamish.
  22. heh, just makin sure you don't get all habib on us. otherwise we can't invite you to hang out with us cool kids anymore.
  23. I'm in the process of getting a MK5 2L TDI as a daily. From what I've found... the GTI is a tinkerer's wet dream compared to the R32, also there's far more GTI owners out there than R32's so the aftermarket world is saturated with upgrade bits for the GTI. I'd much rather buy a GTI and spend the extra $10000 on upgrades.
  24. agreed, that's an oversized rim for wheel arch and it looks like you couldn't afford low profile tyres in the right width to maintain the same rolling diameter. In layman's terms... that just looks habib spec with povo tyres in those pics.
  25. agreed, you can't classify it a computer because you're not free to install whatever you want on it, can't download things onto it and most importantly can't upgrade it. Even netbooks these days can have hard drives etc upgraded. Definitely the market filler between the iphone and a netbook, which I never thought existed, as the netbook fills the void between a phone and a laptop. The iPad is the BMW X3 of the tech world... its made by a trendy company, but it serves no specific purpose, just does everything half arsedly (from a car buff point of view). The problem is that even though anyone who's tech savvy will find it restricting, pleb users will love it to bits, cos they won't know any better. It'll do "internets" well, so as long as it facebooks, emails, browses websites, its fine. It's mainstream and makes a great accessory/status symbol. Just like the soccer mums that buy X3's and think its the bees knees.
