  1. back to the VIC section so that someone who's involved in the sprint days might have some answers.
  2. agreed. I'd say there's more chance of someone kicking your panels for shits n giggles if you're in the area where smash and grab guys roam the streets. alternatively if you have more than one spot outside your house, put a few of these up as decoys. http://www.geekologie.com/2007/06/car_tent.php
  3. oh found it...
  4. look around. I sold my factory R32 cover (which locks into the boot and straps up so no one can run off with it) for a hundred bucks or something a couple of years ago. there should be a few floating around or some for sale from japan.
  5. cop tried to defect me once when I was driving a car between workshops with a tradeplate on. he argued black and blue that he could do it. took the notice into his station, spoke to his supervisor and found out the guy was a rookie and had the fine cancelled. just as well, the car I was driving had a topmount td06-18G (or something like that), rollcage, no front bumper, hood or fenders, or a passenger side door from memory.
  6. if he doesn't produce a badge or proper identification you can tell him to take a long walk off a short pier. sounds like one of those pillocks who writes in to broadcasting companies complaining about the tone that they were using in the "Antiques Roadshow" being inappropriate. He's just gonna ring the hoon hotline (which there's a bigass billboard for on the Ring Road entrance on the Greensy bypass) and dob your plate in. Just call him in for impersonating a police officer, driving recklessly and maybe even threatening you.
  7. tis, its also part of my monthly cussword rotation. last month was "asshat". do keep up.
  8. yeah but you're like 3 foot something. buy a chaser, much more foot and headroom, same power, more comfort.
  9. so 10% of the time cops act the way they do even if you're not a smart ass, and of that 30% of the time you're guranteed to get dicked? lol I agree with your post, I've never met a cop whose agenda it is to get my car off the street. I think it comes down the adrenaline rush that comes as soon as you get pulled over, if you can compose yourself and talk to the cops you can usually help them do their job and not suffer in the process.
  10. chaser. mark II. JZX90, JZX100, JZX110 depending on budget
  11. gotta catch a nig before you can lynch him
  12. you might ahve issues with those wheels scraping on the struts. depends what the width of the wheel is though. +48 on a 7" wide wheel will be fine +48 on an 8.5" will hit.
  13. can you imagine the PR nightmare the cops would have on their hands if they stopped a hearse on its way to Knox crematorium?
  14. If they did in fact run a turbo penalty, then the car should be in Class D (2500cc-3499cc) as its a Marque car. Which is alright I suppose. Dunno why the S14 I was looking at was classified as a Non-Marque Car?
  15. Hey guys, I'm looking at preparing a locally delivered S14 200SX for track use, and I wanted to make sure I stayed within the rules n regs of the MSCA in case I get around to competing in their sprints. Now AFAIK the car is eligible under their marque cars, but what I'm confused about is which category it fits in under. Now the SR20 being a 1998cc engine should be a Class C Marque car right? The only cars I can find in Class C are CRX's and Elise's. Is there some sort of penalty for turbo cars that aren't covered in the Sup Regs i'm reading? The only person I could find who races a 200sx s14 in VIC is Simon Hall, and he seems to be lumped in Class J, which according to the sup regs is Non Marque 2500cc to 3499cc car (another supreg refers to it as a Modified Marque Car over 3001cc)... this one I'm assuming: I've also got some questions about the regs wit regards to wheels and modifications allowed, but I'll wait for some responses to this one first.
  16. Sell this car for parts, or for race use, or I'll have to remove this ad. DO NOT give the impression that this car can be legally complied and registered to potential buyers. It is illegal to comply a car that has had structural damage under the RAWS scheme, and given that your old man runs an import shop, I'd be even more careful about the kind of info you give out on the internet. Further to this, any posts defending or attacking the seller with regards to this will result in warns. Genuine responses concerning the sale of the car only from now on.
  17. Got one of these which I was gonna use for a conversion. Never ended up using it, so its up for grabs. Its brand spankers, never been painted, never been mounted to a car, so comes in the FRP colour that nissan provides them in. AFAIK Nissan oz don't stock these anymore, and if you want brand new, you'll be waiting a while for them to come in. Doesn't get newer than this. Asking $1300 ono. Located in Melb.
  18. oh yeah, if you're not with AAMI, to qualify, all you need is a parent or grandparent who is currently insured by AAMI.
  19. http://www.aami.com.au/customer-service/sk...ers-course.aspx Just got this in the mail today. If you complete this free course, they'll drop your insurance cost by 10%. Not sure if it covers JustCars, but seeing as they're both the same company its probably worth inquiring into.
  20. drivin a jazz and playin golf. i suppose your senior citizen card's in the mail?
  21. ah crap, my neighbour has a silver 4 door V35, if I had seen this before I'd have told him to head up.
  22. dunno... but what he does off duty shouldn't really matter he's just enforcing the law. and here I was thinking it was cos you were of the gay.
  23. actually Pettet used to drive a pretty sweet Subaru WRX back in the day (like about 5 years ago) the reason everyone gets shitty with him is cos he knows imports inside out, cos he's a fan of them. so playing dumb may work on the regular coppers, but with him it won't. I guess he's the Darth Vader of the import world.
  24. soooo... just hopped on there then, and noticed this: http://twitter.com/squirreltastic Amy Lay. Ken Lay's daughter. lol.
