  1. I'd have used a 1988 Honda Accord Liftback personally even has the popup headlights.
  2. world engine of the year was the WRX engine for a couple of years, and the VQ's been voted as one of Ward's top 10 engines for 14 years running. http://wardsauto.com/home/best_engines_focus/ its not like they don't know what they're doing.
  3. if you want a luxury car, why not grab yourself a Lexus? I mean most of the australian public don't realise the IS is a corolla with leather seats and that the GS is an Aristo with fewer options etc. You get that image you're after, and the reliability of a toyota. Or a Nissan Cima F50 import. Infiniti Q45 or President to the common folk. More options than any base model beemer will ever give you for the same price. Piiiimp! too bad we can't import Y34 Cedrics n Gloria's (Inifnity M45's) yet... they're the 5 series of the Nissan world...
  4. Item:Standard R32 non GTR Bonnet Age:15 years? Condition:Black, Clear coat bubbling and peeling in some places Price:$80 ono (seems to be the going price) To Fit: R32 GTS, GTSt, GTS4, GTE, GXi and GTS25 (and an R32 GTR, but I will laugh at you if you do it) Location:Free delivery to adelaide metro. I'll be driving there from melbourne to pick up my new bonnet, so will wanna get rid of this one before I put the new one on. Contact:Shan, shan(at)j-spec.com.au or PM or respond to this thread. Comments:So here's the deal, I'm getting a new bonnet, and I'm driving to adelaide to pick it up. Rather than being stuck with two bonnets I'd rather sell the stock one off, bolt the fibreglass one I bought on, and drive back home. So really, no offer can be refused. The paint on the bonnet's bubbling, and the clear coat has chipped off in a few spots. Other than that the bonnet is straight and has no dents. I'll be keeping the hinges and all that for the new bonnet, so all you'll be gettin is the bonnet itself.
  5. awesome technique, how would you make sure that there's no flash spots in the end photo though... I noticed on one of them there's like a chrstmas light kinda effect, and on the others its not as noticeable. would you use like a diffuser or something to soften up the flash? and yes niroj... I rolled up to the shoot point and went "ah shit, I'm on the wrong side". I should paint my car in two colours... like two face out of batman. one all f**ked up and the other immac. lol do you want SAU to have your royal highness' penis cleaned too?
  6. hopefully less time than your GTt took
  7. well straight off the bat it means that people who want the black edition can now own one, instead of being shafted with Nissan Au's "one model only" policy.
  8. For question 9 of the application (Are the vehicles to be supplied used?) I'm assuming you answered yes? So basically this opens a window of oportunity exactly like the S15's, where at the time, it was cheaper to buy thru nissan than to import, but now, its way cheaper to import than to buy locally.
  9. i think i can count the number of guys who drive p plate safe cars in thommo on one hand.
  10. well... front bumper, sides, rear, front guard, rear guard, and bonnet. I'll only drive if the cost of driving adds up to less than the cost of hire car + freight of kit to our workshop + flight to adelaide. plus i gotta try and sell a standard r32 gtst bonnet in adelaide or figure out how to take two home.
  11. hahaha what a douche... as if anyone would do that speed on edgar's rd... there's a white commodore undercover that sits near the freeway entrance like 24/7. definitely an r34 gtt. wonder who it was.
  12. whatever you can import from japan, you can import from new zealand, using the sme methods. the laws don't care where the car comes from. but yes, what that someone told you is true.
  13. you sir truely are a master of deception. I take my e-hat off to you.
  14. is this the second MH car you alluded to Richard?
  15. well if you're gonna go balls out and race mod it then you'd probably be better off with a race import. it'll also see the car in your hands faster.if its gonna be sedate mods then putting it on the road might be more fun/profitable when you want to sell it down the track. that said, it'll be at least 6 to 8 months before anyone can comply em. i'd go the race import, easier, quicker and cheaper.
  16. sarcasm?
  17. so is the r35 gonna be a race import or a sevs import?
  18. I guess that's the only thing you CAN do to an R33 GTS if you were unfortunate enough to own one. RB20E powah!
  19. well the R34's turning 10 later this year and they still demand aroudn 50K.
  20. TYPE M!!!for the love of god.
  21. are the shit = awesometown are shit = poopsville
  22. is that burgandy or the nismo red stagea?
  23. lol as if a run of the mill predominantly junior marketing intern owned 3 series beemer is a sign of luxury. that's like assuming sipping cheap champagne in copious amounts at melbourne cup day can turn you from a skank to a lady.
  24. yup, there's models called the GTS4's which are AWD passenger cars in 2 door or 4 door config. They run similat ATTESA AWD systems to the GTR's but aren't as powerful, and use the non GT-R body shape while retaining the GT-R chassis. in the R32's they're called GTS4's which are 2.0L Turbo in R33's they're called GTS4's which are 2.5L Non Turbo in R34's they're called GT-Four's which are 2.5L Non Turbo also All come with manual or auto gearboxes. There's also Stagea's which are 2.5L Turbo AWD's mostly in auto with very limited numbers in manual, which have a station wagon body shape, but have similar ATTESA AWD systems to GTR's. Stagea's have a top of the line model called a 260RS which is a 2.6L twin turbo GTR engine and gearbox equipped station wagon, made by Autech (a subdivision of Nissan, kinda like FPV to Ford)
  25. yes, finally shows up. What this means is that now RAWS can apply to compliance the car to australian standards... of course this means that evidence will have to be provided to gain the ability to comply them... so it might be a while before we see them parallel imported. However this doesn't stop workshops bringing in "test cars" to make modifications and gather data from. Depending on what format Nissan Australia uses to bring in the R35's, if they were to import them as low volume, then parallel importation for the whole period is possible. However if Nissan Australia gets full volume importation then we won't be able to import cars made during that period. Anyways, the good news is, from now till Nissan Australia officially sells its first R35, any R35 made in japan is eligible for import (providing it complies with the "new car" regulations, as that's what the approval is for.) I'd say any price under $150,000 should be competitive enough.
