Aircon Regassers In Melbourne That Use Hychill Hr12 Gas

yup. Series 2 R32's came with R134a systems, but Series 1's (all the r32's that came in as 15 year imports) had R12 systems, which cannot legally be recharged in Australia as R12 is now not allowed by the EPA. The HyChill Minus 30 (new name for HR12 apparently) is a substitute for the R12 gas, so it can be used to recharge your existing R12 system without changing anything over. Always a good idea to flush the sytem and check for leaks though. My car (and most 15 year old cars that J-Spec imported) had the canister removed and the system bled prior to being put on the ship from japan, so I'm assuming its simply a matter of having it recharged with the HyChill stuff. -

The widebody Smellsior took 12" rears with negative offsets Prank time Its cruising around the streets of Adelaide these days with the plates ADMIRATION or soemthing. and the kakimoto widebody R33 has 17"x13" rears. Although that one on auction is a John Verban special I think. -
just make sure that when you have the kit fitted that you actually adjust the castor of the wheels to suit. the kit was designed by kakimoto to slightly elongate the wheelbase in addition to giving it extra track (as this kit was meant for use on race cars, not just for looks). when Skyline Imports modded the kit they retained the factory castor of the wheels, and relocated the wheel arch so that the wheels wouldn't scrub against the kit. So depending on whose moulds DMD uses to make their copies you may or may not have to adjust the castor. some pics: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=3398639 Also I don't think whoever did the moulds did the carbon wing and the carbon splitter under the front bar. I've never seen a fake with those bits, and as much as it looks huge and out of place, you have to sit inside the car to appreciate the wing, as it specially shaped to disappear into the blind spots of the car so it doesn't impede the driver's vision. Plus if you're gonna go balls out with such an intricate wide kit, you want to make sure you have the entire "signature look" package.

yeah wheels need spacers to bring em flush with the guards... otherwise it looks really awesome. very aggressive.

Oh wow, small world. Its strange, a lot of people haven't heard of the EPA friendly alternatives to R134a... I do some work of an importer and from experience, most imports with R12 systems are degassed prior to leaving japan, to avoid complications with the EPA when they land. Pretty much all the companies I've spoken to in melbourne absolutely insist on upgrading the system to R134a, which I reckon is rubbish. An alternative like the HyChill HR12 would be quite viable for owners of these types of cars. But seeing as I have you guys to ask questions to, there's something that one of my mates commented on that might need clarification. When I told him it was a hydrocarbon based refrigerant he commented that "he wasn't gonna put natural gas into his aircon system in a skyline", especially since the aircon lines are so close to the turbo which can get very hot. What are the dangers of using HR12? I assume being a hydrocarbon it is flammable? A list of recommended workshops would be ace, preferably those with experience with japanese cars and their AC systems. I'm not in any hurry, so take your time n enjoy the festive season. umm the audi R8 outperforms the porsche 911 turbo, which is I guess the GT-R's goal to equal, so doesn't come as a surprise... its simply a different class (and price bracket) to a GT-R. plus at the end of the day it was the fact that the Audi allows the driver to interact better with the road and conditions than the GT-R ("makes you feel like it could go faster if it didn't have you")... which a lot of guys on here and potential buyers have been saying... too much computer, not enough stick.

couldn't tell you for sure who could do it for you, the J-Spec one is an original kakimoto fitted in japan by kakimoto. Ernie from Skyline Imports up in QLD had a modified copy of the kit (they relocated the rear wheel arch) and they fitted it up to a few cars running around in QLD... but last I heard kakimoto contacted them and threatened legal action if they didn't stop installing them. I've had HyChill HR12 before in R12 equipped system, rather than converting to R134a. It runs better, cools better, corrodes less and is eco friendly. Only problem is that the place I had it done was in QLD. I know HyChill is based in melbourne, so there must be aircon regassers locally that can use em (and not insist on upgrading your system for a small fortune). yeah driving an R32 GTSt (moreso an R32 GTS4) and an R32 GTR from the inside feels quite similar... if anything the GTR's a little nose heavy and goes a little quicker. The AWD isn't *that* noticeable in an R32, so driving the GTR isn't that big a leap in control, only power. But when you go to the R33, the difference between an R33 GTSt and and R33 GTR is immense. It hugs the road better, isn't as twitchy as a GTSt and best of all its actually carries its weight well. The R33 GTSt is a great passenger car, but not a great sports car. The R33 GTR is a great sports car.

lol I also secretly don't own up to having once owned an R33 GTSt... albeit for a couple of months. some people are good with dishing out the jabs, but bad at taking some hits back. people who bag out RB20's usually fall into this category.

haha S2 R33 sedans make me giggle, they always remind me of two buxom scandinavians standing side by side in the cold in tight white t-shirts. nice clean car mate, what's the sticker on the rear right buttcheek say? And does your neighbour really have a pink car?

it'll be even more sweeter if you do an LS1 swap which is getting more and more common in nissans these days... lighter than an RB25DET and makes more power with a LOT of potential for big numbers... plus it sits further back in the car further between the wheelbase, so it won't be as nose heavy.

if you'd like to live a normal life in australia, or something close to it, you'd want a work visa. It allows you to work for up to 6 months with an employer (after which you just change employers) on a part time or casual basis. You're allowed to drive on an international license for 3 months I think. Most people who travel with no work visa do cash jobs and no paper trail... but then you won't be covered by OHS laws etc if something happens to you at work. Talk to your local Australian embassy, they should be able to give you all the options, paperwork etc. After your year is over, you can fly back, apply and come back. Basically you become an illegal immigrant after overstaying your visa you get taken out to a detention camp in the middle of the australian outback, stripped and raped by big samoan/maori guys. ok maybe I made that last bit up, they don't strip you.
