  1. pffft sif bust the mystery of teh pip Shell. sammeh's gonna be pissed he doesn't get pips. his blue dot count could get pretty long. Thought we agreed on no postwhore status indicators so that it doesn't encourage posting carnage.
  2. looks like an altima, in the second pic. also is that Nitrouz's Z33? goddamn they love their Z's in the US.
  3. http://vtr.aec.gov.au
  4. if you ask me the R32 was just the melting pot of a whole bunch of technological advancements Nissan had made in the time... HICAS, ATTESA, ECCS, RB's all were innovations that did not start with the R32. By that theory the R35 is a much larger step in evolution than the old R32 GTR, as it features more innovations which were not found in any other model before it.
  5. laurel is an english word... say it as you would in english. Stagea's origin is Stage-A (advanced stage) so take from that what you will Trueno is the god of thunder and Levin is the god of Lightning... look up the pronounciations of both and you'll find how you're supposed to pronounce it. Pronouncing things the way the japanese do is retarded because they're the same people that call an orange an "orenji". They just don't have the right syllables to pronounce latin/english words... besides... if that was the case this would be "su-kai-rine-su" australia not skylines australia.
  6. at the end of the day the rational choice is an R33 GTSt for a track car. Don't get me wrong, I loathe the styling of an R33 compared to an R32... but we're talking GTSt's here. R32 GTR's are a different matter, but GTSt's are poo. You can't seriously be thinking "lets put an RB25DET in it... lets put bigger brakes in it... lets set up the suspension better in it" etc when its already been done from factory in an R33 GTSt. The golden rule of building race cars is to let someone else do the hard yards for you and then buy it off them at half the cost. Would you seriously waste time on a $6K to 8K R32 GTSt and spend about $5K on labour bringing it up to spec with an R33 GTSt rather than just goin out and buying an R33 GTSt for $9000 and be done with it?
  7. is it just me or does the pointy bit on the bumper under the headlight make it look like a celica?
  8. hehe global auto cleanups
  9. the first is a practical joke in oz, and the AE86 is a car that was made for an ad that makes fun of ricers.
  10. was this before or after his nuclear explosion safe rollcage? hehehe i'm sure he'll have fun at camp snake bite.
  11. and the arthritis certainly didn't help you double posting old man.
  12. you'd be surprised how many Soarers are bought by Toyota dealers from japan... and Delica's n more recently Legnums and Evo's by Mitsi dealers. They only care about the bottom dollar... the smaller dealers couldn't give a f**k about the manufacturer.
  13. maybe the bores are coated in teflon wheels and motor magazine journo's couldn't accurately describe the mechanics of a horse drawn cart let alone a car.
  14. happy birthday snowy... got you that cake of benno's shaft you've always wanted...
  15. lol I still say Sey-fee-roh even tho I know I'm wrong. I cringe when I hear someone say "nice sey-FAI-ro" tho. I think my old man has the technique down pat. He calls it "maxima", cos that's what ours is registered as. simple.
  16. oh... lol I was just making a mental note of something to script up later down the track... but since you insist, I'll let you do it
  17. its based on the greek wind god Zephyrus (or Zephyro in Greek) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zephyros#West..._.28Zephyrus.29 here's how you're supposed to pronounce Zephyrus: http://cougar.eb.com/soundc11/z/zephyr02.wav so change the "Z" to "C" and the "rus" to a "ro" and you have Cefiro (Sefu-Roh)
  18. better make full use of that extended warranty
  19. too late, i wired in a switch best $2 ever spent on teh shitbox any long term effects on the transfer case using the signal cut for long periods?
  20. ohhhh col... why? why must you tempt me so. will get back to you by the end of the week to confirm if i'll take this... waiting to find out how my bid on one on ebay goes.
  21. lol any thread that contains the words R32 and R33 int he same post ends up in people getting butthurt. If this thread wasn't mildly amusing I'd have closed it ages ago.
  22. lol tempe wheels. i would rather bolt 4 very large rocks to my hubs and spray them with a layer of chrome paint so that it can conveniently chip off in a year or discolour... than put tempe wheels on any performance car.
  23. r34 ones... you mean like to convert a GTt to a GTR size guard or are we talking "need for speed spec" widebody?
  24. sigh, ian, we've been through this before with your crusade againt the import laws and importers n all. unfortunately there are regulatory laws for cars as its kinda hard to kill yourself with a parallel import speaker or a camera which don't have to comply with australian ISO standards, or be tested for, nor covered by a warranty or quality control system... but a car that isn't quality tested most definitely can kill you. There's nothing stopping anyone from applying to import a car that's not available locally, as long as they're a certified RAW who can demonstrate the required technical knowledge. Compliancers aren't just making money on cars, they are also liable for any recalls and defects that may be raised in the future. Technically they are the manufacturers of the car as far as the government is concerned. If something was to go wrong with the car, the buck would stop at them, and it is this gurantee that you pay for. As for competition and import "slots"... are you kidding me? You couldn't give away compliance to an R33 with the hundreds of compliance workshops in australia. if a model is popular, there will be competition, if it isn't then the workshop can demand whatever the hell they want... like Modena Imports, who comply high end masserati's and ferrari's... no competition means they can ask whatever they want. No system is ever created to please one person, and its unfortunate that it doesn't please you, but as with everything else in a democracy, its a compromise that sees everyone happy. I'm sure you'd love the thought of an american import system being put in place in australia. Also new zealand doesn't have a local auto manufacturing industry... so its a free for all... you only need to drive down the streets of auckland to see the rusted pile of shit cefiro's and stagea's to realise there's no quality control there when it comes to what enters the country. Apples with oranges.
