What Is Your Cefiro Worth To You?
funkymonkey replied to huddy's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Ours is probably the most factory standard and unmolested ceffy in the country, to the extent that almost all the worn parts have been replaced by genuine Nissan stuff (much to my horror)... my old man treats it better than he treats me and even washes/buffs it each weekend. he mentioned he'd be looking for about $12000 minimum if he was to sell it. -
try zac on the forums... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/f126.html or aaron cocklover (rampant) he should be able to do it too.

ur not doin it right! do not want! how to make a proper thread... let me show you.

Nissan engineers make a car for regular use under factory specifications... I think what the OP meant was the suitability of the technolog for high end tunes.Nissan engineers also spent millions of dollars on oil drainage and recirculation on the RB26DETT, and we all know how well they do on a circuit.

Aston martin and a couple of other modern supercars use this same technology and they seem to have no problems with the shaft not being balanced properly... also keep in mind that the material the shaft is made of is a lot lighter these days than the oldschool chunk of metal.... lot less forces acting outwards due to weight. F1 cars are shorter stroke high RPM cars... we're talking about a GTR here which will see half those RPM's in day to day use. Will be interesting to see what the GT500 platform is, as that's usually what the aftermarket performance world tries to emulate.

lol ease up fellas, a mate of mine studied in the Netherlands for a year so he could bring back a Koenig tuned mercedes because there's no way you could get one in australia... so I can see where screamer's comin from. That said. If you can't afford $120K when it comes out here, then give up now instead of wasting time and money. The car will cost you $80,000 plus on road costs to buy (and japanese dealers have this brilliant knack of adding on shitloads onto the sale price of cars as onroad costs... even more than dealers here). Then there's parking and also the cost of living in japan, which is a lot higher than australia. Once you've lived outyour year there, then you have to pay for shipping, import duty, GST and luxury car tax... which as teh baron pointed out will be about $20K mark. All up you're looking at paying about $120K before the car even gets to australian soil... and you'll lose your warranty etc. all in all, definitely not a wise investment.

33 GTR's sample data from the sensors at twice the rate of R32 GTR's, and have full electronically controlled solenoids to control steering as opposed to hydraulic R32 stuff. technologically if the R32 was a 386 (and it's ECU has about the same processing power) then the R33 is a Pentium 1. That said, we're talking about GTRs. Driving an R33 GTSt is still like picking a retarded kid to give you a piggyback.

From memory there's currently a hot hatch turbo pulsar in development based on the march/tiida platform. was at the tokyo motorshow last year I think as a concept. White n black and horny looking. So I'm pretty sure Nissan's aware of this shortfall.

wouldn't they just use a highly tuned version of the new VR engine instead? I mean... why spend all that money developing the VR and then revert back to the VQ?

Some New Powerfc Toys To Play With... Maybe
funkymonkey replied to STATUS's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i've got the commander pro software, but I think I made a mistake when wiring up the interface box for the cable... couldn't get it to work. mind you this was about 2 years ago and haven't touched it since. -
V37 does like 350hp in stock form... that's a lot more than the old Skyline GTSt's. Back in the day Nissan had a gajillion cars with 5 parts differentiating them from each other. Its marketing suicide... which is why they ended up bankrupt, having to be bailed out by Renault. Under new management there's gonna be defined breakups in the lineup so the different models don't overlap too much into each other's customer base. From a performance point of view... if you can' afford a GTR, your next best option is supposed to be a Z33 350Z.... after that if you want a "luxury spec" sports car... think IS300 style) then you got for the V35 350GT. If you want something cheaper get a 250GT. Cheaper than that you buy a March. Making a single turbo lower capacity GT-R like in the old day is marketing suicide... I mean... look at the number of heroes on our roads in GTSt's with GTR badges... to the common commodore driver, we all look the same, even tho an R32 GTR in its hayday cost $120,000 and an R32 GTSt would have cost half that. You need exclusivity to make a car stand out... and with the amount of money riding on the new GT-R being a success you better hope it stands out like crazy.

Who Bought The Damaged R33 Gtr At Pickles Auction On Wednesday?
funkymonkey replied to drifter 33's topic in New South Wales
if its on the REVS or VIV lists, then it needs to be reinspected (and the inspection's done by a proper engineer who checks welds n everything) before it can be reregistered. -
