  1. agreed... drift look and VIP style Verossa's rock
  2. coz he's a girlie man that won't drive his own car... even though its a fortress on wheels Nice work Adam... and driver dynamics crew.
  3. Hey guys, just a quick question.... my dad's ceffy has started acting really spongy, which is becoming quite dangerous at highway speeds, as a series of bumps seems to unsettle the back. They're either Koni or KYB (can't remember atm) 4 way dampening adjustables. The rigidity was acceptable about a year and a half ago when it was imported, but since then has jus deteriorated. here's a pic of the the rear ones: Anyways, my question is, can this be fixed simply? Is it just a matter of reconditioning the shocks? Or would it be cheaper and easier to get a replacement set? My dad dosen't need to have the car lowered, or have coilover suspension or anything special like that... but the dampening adjustment was a nice feature. Also can anyone recommend any shops in sydney that I can take it to, to have the shocks looked at, reconditioned or to get replacements from?
  4. personally I think the New V35 looks too close to a Toyota Verossa... and that came out in 2001 or something.
  5. strange cars. strange ads.
  6. I found the GTS badges that popped up in the past were pretty crap jobs, the fonts were wrong etc. If I was to get one personally I'd want it to look like it was supposed to be there from factory.
  7. I'd say any ECU that works on an R31 GTS-R will work on a series 1 A31 ceffy
  8. wierd thing is in Japan, the guys rebadge their celsiors with lexus LS badges for a luxury look, skylines with infiniti badges, and honda civics with Acura badges for "LA style". Grass is always greener on the other side I guess.
  9. While I wouldn't go putting them (V35's) in the same class of car as a R32,R33, or R34... skylines have always been a family sedan first, then a sports variant (C10 and C110 with the 2000GT's, R31 with the GTS-R etc). All of them have had a standout "hero" coupe model (GTR's, GTS-R's etc)... the V35 hasn't. The V35 coupe is fairly similar to the rest of the variants. After driving a V35 skyline sedan with the CVT8 transmission, you'll immediately realise its a whole new beast. Its true that its just a 350z with a different look... but it has better power delivery than a 350z. The V35 coupe has much better handling than a 350z (which were released here with dodgy suspension). Now if they can combine the two and actually release the coupe with a CVT8 trans and maybe slightly more aggressive body styling, then you'd have an instant "hero" car. Although I think the yanks are gettin ripped off just because Nissan wants to establish the image of the car as a luxury model by bumping up the price for some cowskin and chrome bits and Infiniti badges. What amuses me is the jockeys there who buy em and rebadge em as Skylines to be JDM Tyte Yo not realising that the Skyline's supposedly just a cheap family car in Japan.
  10. interesting approach... seen it done on a ceffy in japan, but they used R33 sedan tail lights instead, and it looked like it sat flush with the ceffy body. Nice job, nice car though.

  12. yeah that multimeter aaron posted is good for these purposes. I personally use this one: http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=QM1538 its got a data cable so you can use the included datalogging software to log signals (like from an ECU with the multimeter plugged into a laptop), temperature probe and duty cycle (great for seeing if your injectors are being maxed out etc). A lil over the top for your needs though, I got by fine with a pretty basic analogue one for years... only moved up to this one when I started tinkering with the car and other gadgets. Mr Void... no worries, figured you might already have access to one, but just made sure in case it had slipped you mind.
  13. if bob the abo hadn't beaten you to it by a month I'm sure it'd have been knee slappingly hilarious
  14. yeah... totally original content dude. the concept just bursts with uniqueness.
  15. As far as Australia is concerned the easiest way to get an import approval is using de-registration papers for the car from Japan... so I'd say a very high percentage of the ones that arrived here were previously registered.
  16. There is one GTSt cruising around with the prelim copy that was pulled off the mould (which was supposed to have been destroyed, but I'm guessing that was sold too... heh). The owner of that car's just rivetted the kit onto existing guards. Without it being blended it looks like arse with a sprinkling of shite.
  17. that's one psychedelic funky arse shirt you got on there. sorry to hear about the vandalism tho.
  18. Independent Electronic Boost Controller QTY - 6 @ $53 each Digital Fuel Adjuster QTY - 1 @ $62 each Hand Controller for Digital Adjusters QTY - 5 @ $40 each RS232 (Parallel Port) Connecting Cable Computer Lead for Controller QTY - 3 @ $6 each Soldering Kit (TS1650) QTY - 1 @ $15.50 each Mr Void, just wanted to make sure that you don't want a hand controller? You'll need it to set the EBC and DFA you've requested. ducki the iron that comes as part of this kit is the Duratech 25W (TS1465) and comes with this tip: it should be OK for PCB soldering. I'll be PMing each of you guys that responded in this thread your totals including shipping and payment details later today. If anyone would like anything else from Jaycar, please let me know by the end of the day today.
  19. but you don't have a c210 do u?
  20. ducki, post up which iron and solder you're after (there's a few options) and I can give you a price on it. I get below retail on all of em, so just find the product code on the Jaycar website and post it up. void, I'll be PM'ing everyone payment details shortly once we finalise numbers (just realised I said I was going to do it as soon as you posted a response... whoops).
  21. we can import the previous 2 door Civic Type R, so if the new one won't be released in Australia, then I'm fairly confident that it can be imported too.
  22. I think I'd rather the new commodore over that "luxury car" personally.
  23. did it on the ae86 without any other forms of bracing (only because it was gonna be acid dipped) as a test. Flex was about 10mm along the B pillar with a jack on full height under the engine crossmember without any form of bracing. with the urathane expanding foam in the door rails flex was 6mm. with the roll cage mounted, the flex was 1mm. I didn't find it doing wonders for the car, a good solid rollcage is much better IMHO. If you are gonna use it, make sure its not a polymer (urathane has many different variants) that absolbs moisture... although the whole idea of expanding foam is the air bubbles in it, which could be home to condensation.
  24. was he able to remap it though? when i spoke to him last he said he could do R32 and R34's
